About Peking Kitchen II

Peking Kitchen II is a Chinese restaurant located at 2162 Frederick Douglass Blvd in the vibrant city of New York, NY, specifically in Manhattan, with the zip code 10026, USA. Operating within the Chinese Restaurant category, Peking Kitchen II aims to provide Chinese food options to the local community. They can be contacted at (212) 222-7888 or via their mobile number +1 212-222-7888.

The available customer reviews offer a glimpse into the experience of dining, or rather, ordering takeout, from Peking Kitchen II. One review expresses a broader concern about a perceived decline in the quality of food at many Chinese restaurants, including Peking Kitchen II. This customer noted that the food seems to be becoming flavorless, with bland meats and consistently hard or undercooked broccoli. They reminisced about a time when the restaurant's food was "amazing" and speculated that the current issues might be due to being overwhelmed or staff fatigue. While critical of the current food quality, this reviewer ended with a hopeful message for improvement, suggesting a prior positive experience with the establishment.

In contrast, the second review offers a more concise assessment, stating that the food is "good" but advises not to expect much in terms of service or atmosphere, explicitly labeling it as a "take out." This suggests that Peking Kitchen II primarily functions as a takeout restaurant, where the focus is on food preparation for off-premises consumption rather than a comprehensive dine-in experience. The positive remark about the food being "good" offers a more favorable perspective compared to the first review's concerns about flavor and preparation.

Based on these limited reviews, it appears that Peking Kitchen II may be undergoing a phase where food quality is inconsistent, or at least perceived differently by different customers. The first review highlights potential issues with the flavor profile and the cooking of certain ingredients, while the second review offers a more neutral stance, acknowledging the food as "good" but emphasizing the takeout nature of the business.

Information regarding the environment or ambiance of Peking Kitchen II is scarce. The second reviewer explicitly states, "don't expect much in terms of ... atmosphere," reinforcing the idea that this is primarily a takeout operation. This suggests that there might be limited or no seating available for dining in, and the focus is likely on efficient order preparation and pickup.

In terms of services, the reviews primarily point to takeout as the main offering. The mention of "service" in the second review, coupled with the advice not to expect much, could imply that the interaction is limited to order taking and food handover, without the typical amenities or attentiveness associated with a full-service dine-in restaurant. The first review mentions past experiences, implying a longer history of operation, but doesn't detail specific services beyond food preparation.

Features of Peking Kitchen II are not explicitly mentioned. There are no specific dishes highlighted as specialties or unique offerings in these reviews. The first review mentions common Chinese food components like meats and broccoli, but in the context of a decline in quality rather than as standout features. The second review simply states "good food" without elaborating on particular strengths.

No promotional information, such as special deals, discounts, or loyalty programs, is mentioned in the provided reviews. Therefore, it is not possible to include any details about promotions that Peking Kitchen II might be running.

For local users in the Frederick Douglass Blvd area of New York City looking for Chinese food, Peking Kitchen II presents itself as a takeout option. The reviews suggest a somewhat uncertain experience. One customer expresses concerns about the flavor and preparation of the food, indicating a potential decline in quality. Another customer found the food to be "good" but strongly implies that the restaurant is geared towards takeout with minimal emphasis on service or atmosphere. This suggests that if you are primarily looking for a convenient takeout meal and are not concerned about a dine-in experience, Peking Kitchen II might be a viable option to consider, keeping in mind the mixed feedback on food quality.

Given the limited and somewhat contradictory feedback, local users might want to try a small order initially to assess the current food quality and see if it aligns with their expectations. The mention of past positive experiences in one review indicates that the restaurant may have the potential to deliver good food, but current consistency seems to be a question mark. If atmosphere and service are important factors in your dining choices, the second review suggests that Peking Kitchen II may not be the ideal choice, as it is primarily a takeout establishment.

In conclusion, Peking Kitchen II at 2162 Frederick Douglass Blvd in New York City appears to be primarily a Chinese takeout restaurant. Customer reviews offer mixed perspectives on the food quality, with one expressing concerns about flavor and preparation, while another found the food to be "good." Both reviews suggest that it is not a place to expect much in terms of dine-in atmosphere or extensive service. Local users seeking a convenient Chinese takeout option in the area may consider trying Peking Kitchen II, perhaps starting with a smaller order to gauge the current quality for themselves.

Fresh food at midnight??? I’m so happy with this delivery. I wanted the kind of quick and greasy Chinese food you can get on the corner, rarely delivered. My roommates are picky about egg rolls and asked me to write this review specifically so we could remember the place that will deliver the kind of egg rolls they like. We also got general Tsos and sesame noodles and the only complaint - again, at midnight - was that the broccoli in the general’s was a little bland. But it was still fresh and crunchy
