About Peking Garden

Welcome to Peking Garden, your local Chinese restaurant situated at 604 W Main St, Collinsville, IL 62234, USA. As a valued establishment in the Chinese Restaurant category, Peking Garden aims to provide a diverse menu of Chinese cuisine for the local community. You can easily reach them at (618) 345-0804 or their mobile number, +1 618-345-0804, for inquiries or to place an order.

Based on feedback from patrons, Peking Garden offers a unique dining experience. One reviewer enthusiastically describes it as a "great place" with consistently "fresh and quick" food for pickup, indicating efficiency and quality for those on the go. This customer mentions frequenting the restaurant weekly, highlighting a positive and reliable experience. Furthermore, they characterize the interior ambiance as "very quaint," suggesting a cozy and inviting atmosphere that makes diners feel "like you’re invited over for a family dinner." This description points towards a warm and personal dining environment.

However, it's important to consider a contrasting perspective shared by another customer. This review describes their food experience as "meh" and expresses disappointment, particularly in comparison to another local establishment. They specifically mention the Crab Rangoon being "so hard," suggesting potential issues with food freshness or preparation. The egg fried rice was deemed "okay nothing special," indicating a lack of distinctiveness. Additionally, the pan-fried pot stickers/dumplings were reported as "not cooked long enough," raising concerns about food safety and quality control. This reviewer openly questions the positive reviews and suggests their experience was far from satisfactory.

Considering these varied opinions, Peking Garden appears to be a restaurant with aspects that resonate positively with some customers, particularly regarding the speed and freshness of takeout orders and the charming interior. The "quaint" and "family dinner" like atmosphere suggests a focus on creating a welcoming space for dine-in guests. However, it's crucial to acknowledge the negative feedback concerning food quality, such as the texture of the Crab Rangoon and the preparation of the pot stickers. The comment about the egg fried rice being unremarkable also suggests potential inconsistencies in the overall culinary experience.

For local users considering Peking Garden, it might be beneficial to weigh these different experiences. If you prioritize quick and seemingly fresh takeout, and appreciate a cozy dine-in environment, Peking Garden could be a viable option. The positive review emphasizing weekly visits suggests a level of consistent satisfaction for at least one regular customer. However, the negative review serves as a reminder that individual experiences can vary, and factors like food preparation and perceived freshness might not always meet expectations.

To gain a more comprehensive understanding, potential customers might consider trying a few different dishes or visiting during peak hours to assess the freshness and quality firsthand. Ordering popular items mentioned in positive reviews, like those picked up frequently, could also provide insight into the restaurant's strengths. Conversely, being mindful of the issues raised in the negative review, such as the Crab Rangoon and pot stickers, might guide initial order choices.

As a Chinese restaurant in Collinsville, IL, Peking Garden offers both dine-in and takeout services, catering to different preferences and needs. The phone number, (618) 345-0804, and mobile number, +1 618-345-0804, provide convenient ways to place orders or make reservations. The address, 604 W Main St, is easily accessible for local residents. In conclusion, Peking Garden presents itself as a local Chinese restaurant in Collinsville, IL, with a seemingly pleasant dine-in atmosphere and efficient takeout service, according to one positive review. However, another customer's experience highlights potential inconsistencies in food quality and preparation. Local users are advised to consider these varying perspectives and perhaps try Peking Garden for themselves to form their own informed opinion. Food was meh. Decided to try it out since New China is closed on tuesdays… bad idea! Crab Rangoon was so hard looks like it was left over from earlier in the day. The egg fried rice was okay nothing special. We also got pan fried pot stickers/dumplings and they weren’t cooked long enough. Idk where the good reviews are coming from but it wasn’t it for me. Idk how new china has lower ratings and tbh wit food is way better…. Sounds fishy to me.

This place is my new favorite Chinese spot in the area! Dining in is great here, good ambience and the music is non distracting from the conversation. Our food came out very hot and fresh. We ordered the teriyaki chicken and the general tso's chicken. The white rice was fresh and went great with the teriyaki sauce. The steamed lo mein was a great add to the general tso's chicken as well. Overall this place is a great stop if you are looking for no-fuss Chinese fine dining or a quick takeout meal.

Food is delicious, and fast. The place is very comfortable and relaxing, and the service is very good. I don't like that they charge $3.50 for a 16 oz bottle of soda, that's too high for no refill.

The orange chicken is some of THE BEST Chinese food I've ever had! Black pepper shrimp and chicken are amazing as well! Hot n sour soup on point.. egg rolls seem homemade and really tasty. Crab Rangoon are great when fresh as well.. UPDATE I've branched out and tried more recently. Hunan beef is really good, my mom says/ said was her favorite until we tried the orange beef one evening after a suggestion from one of the amazing waitresses they have. She said it's her favorite dish and it didn't disappoint. The egg foo yung is amazing as well.
