About Peking Express

Welcome to Peking Express, a Chinese restaurant located at 101 W American Canyon Rd #510, American Canyon, CA 94503, USA, serving the local community with a focus on providing large portions at affordable prices. As a member of the Chinese Restaurant category, Peking Express aims to offer a budget-friendly option for those seeking familiar American Chinese cuisine. You can reach them at (707) 553-8800 or their mobile number, +1 707-553-8800, for inquiries or to place an order. Based on the limited online feedback, customer experiences appear to be divided, with some appreciating the value and portion sizes, while others express significant dissatisfaction with the food quality.

Peking Express positions itself as a Chinese restaurant that prioritizes affordability and generous servings. This approach can be appealing to local users in American Canyon looking for a substantial meal without a high cost. One reviewer noted that while the food might not be the "greatest," it is "definitely a great deal for the price and portion size." This suggests that Peking Express caters to those who prioritize quantity and value over premium quality. The reviewer also mentioned being a frequent customer who often orders the 3-item combo, consisting of sweet and sour pork, sesame chicken, and chow mein, indicating some consistency in their positive experience with these particular dishes.

The environment of Peking Express is not explicitly described in the provided reviews. However, based on its focus on value and quick service, it is likely a casual and functional setting, typical of many Chinese restaurants that emphasize takeout and delivery, although dine-in options are also usually available. The ambiance is likely unpretentious, with the primary focus being on providing affordable and plentiful food.

In terms of service, one of the reviewers offered a positive comment, stating that "the servers were very nice." This suggests that the staff at Peking Express are courteous and friendly, which can contribute positively to the overall customer experience, even if there are concerns about the food itself. Friendly service is often a valued aspect of dining, and this positive feedback is a point in favor of Peking Express.

However, a significant concern is raised by another reviewer regarding the quality of the food. This customer ordered salted fried calamari, sesame chicken, and chow mein for a total of $9 and reported a negative experience with all three items. The chow mein was described as lacking flavor, even after adding sweet and sour sauce and soy sauce. The sesame chicken was deemed "too hard and dry," and the salted fried calamari was criticized for being "too salty" and not even tasting like calamari, with the reviewer suspecting excessive salt was used to mask its true nature. This highly negative feedback indicates potentially significant issues with the preparation and quality of certain dishes at Peking Express.

The stark contrast between the two reviews highlights a potential inconsistency in the food quality or perhaps a difference in expectations and preferences among customers. While one reviewer finds the food "decent" for the price and portion size, another describes it as inedible, even to the point of feeding it to their dogs. This discrepancy is a crucial point for local users to consider when deciding whether to try Peking Express.

The reviewer who had a negative experience went so far as to recommend another local Chinese restaurant, Lee's Garden, suggesting that they found a better alternative in the area. This direct comparison underscores the level of dissatisfaction experienced with the food at Peking Express.

Given the limited information, there are no specific mentions of any promotional offers at Peking Express. As a local restaurant, they might have occasional specials or combo deals, but these are not detailed in the provided reviews. Local users interested in potential discounts or promotions would need to contact the restaurant directly or check for any local advertisements.

In conclusion, Peking Express in American Canyon offers a Chinese dining option with a focus on providing large servings at great prices, which appeals to some customers. The service is reported to be nice. However, there are significant concerns raised about the quality of the food, with one customer experiencing poorly prepared dishes such as overly salty calamari and dry chicken, leading to a highly negative overall experience. The starkly contrasting reviews suggest a potential inconsistency in food quality or a wide range of customer expectations. Local users considering Peking Express should weigh the reported value and portion sizes against the potential for poor food quality based on these limited reviews.

Decent food for a great price and large servings. It's not the greatest food, but it's definitely a great deal for the price and portion size. I come here often and get the 3 item combo; sweet sour pork, sesame chicken, and chow mein.

The servers were very nice however, the food was not good. I spend $9 for salted fried Calamari, sesame chicken and choimein. The choimein was not even tasty, I even poured sweet and sour sauce and soy sauce but it wasn't enough to make me eat it. The chicken was too hard and dry, while the calamari was too salty and didn't even taste like calamari. It felt like they salted it too much to take a way from the fact that it isn't calamari. I only took a few bites and couldn't get myself to eat anymore so I fed it to my dogs. You're better off going to Lee's Garden.

Fsster than Panda but quality bad to ok. Convenient for when you want something really quick and no nonsense. The first time I got food poisoning. Take your chances. Hidden fees for 3 entree.

Their fried rice did not taste like fried rice. More like regular white rice with soy sauce.

I used to recommend this Chinese fast food. But recently it has gone down. Portion size was my biggest seller but now its not even worth it. The charsu pork was as hard as beef jerky. Beef and broccoli was just broccoli with a few beef. Sweet and sour chicken was more breading than chicken. Maybe its just my experience for the past few months. Hopefully i can change this review to a better one in the future.
