As a Chinese restaurant in the Clinton community, Peking Chinese Restaurant aims to provide a variety of dishes inspired by Chinese culinary traditions. They can be contacted at (910) 592-6000 or via their mobile number +1 910-592-6000 for inquiries or to place orders.
Peking Chinese Restaurant operates within the platform category of "Chinese Restaurant," which typically includes establishments that offer a diverse selection of dishes originating from China. These restaurants often cater to local tastes while providing familiar and perhaps some unique Chinese culinary experiences.
To provide a balanced introduction to Peking Chinese Restaurant, it is crucial to consider the recent feedback from its customers. Online reviews offer valuable perspectives on various aspects of the restaurant, including the quality of the food, the service provided, and the overall dining experience.
One customer shared a highly negative experience, expressing disappointment with several dishes ordered. They spent $40 on Sesame Chicken, Crab Ragoons, Chicken Lo Mein, and an extra egg roll, and found all of them to be unsatisfactory. The Sesame Chicken was described as excessively sweet, and the pork fried rice contained large pieces of uncooked pork fat. The Chicken Lo Mein, while having a good flavor, suffered from overcooked noodles with a "mashed potato" texture. The Crab Ragoons were reported as chewy with a runny filling, and despite a good flavor, were deemed overall bad. Finally, the egg rolls were soft and chewy instead of crispy, with a mushy filling that had an unusual cinnamon-like taste, a flavor that was noted by all three people who tried them. This customer strongly advised others to avoid the restaurant, citing the high price relative to the poor quality.
In contrast, another customer reported a more positive experience. They found it easy to order online and noted the staff as friendly. Importantly, they mentioned that indoor dining is not really an option ("You can't really eat inside"), suggesting that Peking Chinese Restaurant primarily focuses on takeout and possibly delivery. This customer also commented that the prices were "a little high" but stated that they were happy with the food overall. They specifically praised the sesame beef and highlighted the kung pao chicken as their favorite, noting that it contained a good amount of vegetables.
These two reviews present a stark contrast in customer experiences. One highlights significant issues with food quality across multiple dishes, while the other praises the ease of online ordering, friendly staff, and the taste of specific items, albeit with a mention of higher prices and limited dining options.
Based on the information provided, the environment of Peking Chinese Restaurant seems to be primarily geared towards takeout, with limited or no indoor dining available. This suggests that customers should expect to order their food for consumption off-premises. The focus appears to be on efficient preparation and packaging for takeaway orders.
The services offered by Peking Chinese Restaurant include online ordering, which is noted as easy to use. The staff is described as friendly, indicating a positive aspect of their customer service. The primary service seems to be takeout, given the comment about the limited ability to eat inside. It is not explicitly mentioned whether they offer delivery services, so local users would need to inquire directly about this option.
Features of Peking Chinese Restaurant include a menu with a variety of standard American Chinese dishes, such as Sesame Chicken, Chicken Lo Mein, Sesame Beef, and Kung Pao Chicken. The mention of pork fried rice and crab rangoons suggests a typical selection found in many Chinese restaurants in the United States. One positive feature highlighted by a customer was the inclusion of a good amount of vegetables in the Kung Pao Chicken.
Promotional information is not explicitly available in the provided reviews. Chinese restaurants often utilize various promotions to attract customers, such as discounts on specific dishes, combination meals, or special offers for online orders. To find out about any current promotions at Peking Chinese Restaurant, local users would need to check their online ordering platform (if they have one), any local advertising, or contact the restaurant directly.
For local users in Clinton, NC, considering Peking Chinese Restaurant, it is important to weigh the contrasting customer experiences. The ease of online ordering and friendly staff are positive aspects. However, the significant concerns raised about the quality of several dishes in one review should give potential customers pause. The other review, while positive about specific dishes, also notes higher prices and the lack of a proper dine-in option.
Given the mixed feedback, local users might want to consider what is most important to them. If convenience and online ordering are key, and they are willing to try specific dishes that have received positive mentions (like the sesame beef and kung pao chicken), Peking Chinese Restaurant might be an option. However, if food quality and consistency across the menu are top priorities, the negative review regarding multiple dishes should be taken seriously.
It might be beneficial for potential customers to look for more recent reviews on other platforms to get a broader sense of the current quality and service at Peking Chinese Restaurant. If possible, inquiring about the preparation methods or any recent changes in the kitchen might also provide additional insight. For those who prefer to dine in, the limited seating mentioned suggests that this might not be the ideal choice.
In conclusion, Peking Chinese Restaurant in Clinton, NC, offers online ordering and friendly service, primarily catering to takeout customers. While one customer praised specific dishes like the sesame beef and kung pao chicken, another reported significant issues with the quality of multiple items, including the sesame chicken, pork fried rice, lo mein, crab rangoons, and egg rolls. The prices were noted as being a little high, and indoor dining is limited. Local users should consider these contrasting experiences and their own priorities when deciding whether to order from Peking Chinese Restaurant.

Customer Reviews
Wanted some chineese food and looked up some places on our way through town, this place had decent reviews....I have no idea why!! spent 40 bucks on a Sesame Chicken, Crab Ragoons, Chicken Lo Mein, and one extra eggroll. It was all a huge mistake! The Sesame Chicken was way to sweet, the pork fried rice had big chunks of uncooked pork fat in it the Chicken Lo Mein had good flavor but the noodles were so over cooked it was the texture of mashed potatoes in your mouth. The crab Ragoons were chewy not crispy and full of a very runny filling the flavor was good but over all they were bad. The eggrolls were again soft and kinda chewy not crispy and full of some off tasting mushy filling that had an oddly cinnamon like taste, the three of us that tried them all thought so. I was highly disappointed especially for the price. Don't waste your time or money here.
Easy to order online. Friendly staff. You can't really eat inside. Prices are a little high, but we were happy with the food. The sesame beef was good, the kung Pao chicken was our favorite, it had lots of veggies.
so typically I would eat here!! However after today I will not!!! So I called in my order asking for the LUNCH SPECIAL boneless spareribs not once did she say they did not have it on lunch special!! When I get there she gives me the total of. $18. so instantly im like what did you ring up. She proceeds to say they don’t have a lunch special and your egg rolls. When I get to the office to and open my plate it’s a hand full of FATTY RIBS and bowl FULL of rice!! So I feel like I basically paid over 18. for a bowl of shrimp fried rice!! And it was dry!! This is ridiculous!!
The food is honestly nasty , I have visited this place twice and both times food wasn't worth the price !
Food is awesome. But, the way they package your food is not! I have been going there for years. I don't understand why they put the rice on the bottom. Please put rice on top and main course on bottom. If this is not done it makes a big mess in your car. I really like there food but, if there is an issue you will be wrong. Customers don't come first. They know everything about what you want. Don't believe me just tell them they are wrong.
