About Pei Wei Asian Kitchen
Pei Wei Asian Kitchen, located at 2600 W 7th St Suite 101, Fort Worth, TX 76107, USA, is a restaurant categorized as a Chinese Restaurant and more broadly as an Asian Kitchen, suggesting a menu that may encompass various Asian culinary traditions. However, the available customer reviews for this specific Fort Worth location highlight significant concerns regarding food quality and safety, alongside a positive note about customer service from one staff member.
One detailed review recounts a troubling experience on Friday, April 19th, 2025. The customer purchased orange chicken and fried rice and subsequently suffered from severe digestive distress several hours later. Upon consuming leftovers of the same meal later that evening, the symptoms recurred, leading the customer to discard the remaining food. This strongly suggests a potential case of foodborne illness linked to the food consumed from Pei Wei on that day. Such an incident raises serious questions about the restaurant's food handling and preparation practices, as well as the freshness and safety of their ingredients.
Adding to these concerns, the same reviewer also described a disturbing observation while waiting for their order around noon. An individual, not identified as an employee, entered the establishment from the street carrying a large bag and proceeded to rummage through the condiment packets at the service counter. Notably, the reviewer was the only customer present at the time, and no employee intervened to address this situation. The lack of intervention by staff when an outsider was handling items accessible to customers raises significant concerns about the restaurant's hygiene protocols and their attentiveness to potential contamination risks. The reviewer explicitly stated their deep concern regarding the potential for foodborne illness and the apparent lack of attention to hygiene standards within the establishment.
In contrast to the serious food safety and quality concerns raised in the first review, a second, much briefer review offers a positive comment about a specific employee named Jesus, who is identified as the cashier. This reviewer described Jesus as "nice and very polite" and commended him for providing "excellent customer service" and "polite knowledge service." The review also mentions leaving feedback for "free donuts," suggesting a potential promotional incentive for customers to leave reviews. While this positive feedback about the cashier is a welcome note, it is important to consider it in the context of the significant food safety and quality issues raised by the other customer.
The limited information available makes it difficult to provide a comprehensive description of Pei Wei Asian Kitchen's environment, services beyond the cashier's interaction, features, or any ongoing promotional activities beyond the mention of "free donuts" for reviews. The stark contrast between the two reviews suggests a potential inconsistency in the overall customer experience, with food safety and quality being major areas of concern based on one detailed account.
For local users in Fort Worth considering Pei Wei Asian Kitchen, the feedback presents a mixed but heavily cautionary picture. The serious allegations of foodborne illness resulting from the consumption of their food, coupled with the apparent lack of attention to hygiene protocols as evidenced by the incident at the condiment counter, should be taken very seriously. While one employee received praise for their customer service, this positive interaction does not mitigate the potential risks associated with food safety and quality highlighted in the other review.
Given the nature of the negative feedback, particularly the potential for foodborne illness and the compromised hygiene standards, prospective customers may want to exercise extreme caution before dining at this Pei Wei location. It would be prudent to seek more recent reviews from a wider range of customers to ascertain if these issues are isolated incidents or indicative of broader problems within the establishment's operations. Food safety and hygiene are paramount in any food service business, and the reported lapses are significant concerns.
The mention of "free donuts" in exchange for a review suggests a potential strategy to encourage customer feedback, but it does not provide any substantive information about the restaurant's regular offerings, environment, or standard services. It is important for potential customers to look beyond such incentives and focus on unbiased accounts of the food quality, safety, and overall dining experience.
In conclusion, the Pei Wei Asian Kitchen at 2600 W 7th St Suite 101 in Fort Worth, TX, has received concerning feedback regarding food safety and quality, with one customer reporting a likely case of foodborne illness and a lack of hygiene oversight. While a cashier was praised for excellent customer service, these serious issues should give local users pause. It is recommended to seek additional and more recent reviews to gain a clearer understanding of the current conditions and make an informed decision about dining at this establishment. The potential risks highlighted in the negative review significantly outweigh the limited positive feedback about a single employee.

On Friday, April 19th, 2025, I purchased orange chicken and fried rice. Several hours later, I experienced severe digestive distress. Subsequent consumption that evening resulted in a recurrence of these symptoms. I ultimately discarded the remaining food. Furthermore, while awaiting my order at approximately 12:00 PM, an individual entered the establishment from the street, carrying a large bag and proceeded to rummage through the condiment packets at the service counter. I was the sole customer present, and no employee intervened. This individual's handling of the condiment packets raises serious concerns regarding food safety and hygiene protocols. I am deeply concerned about the potential for foodborne illness and the apparent lack of attention to hygiene standards.
Jesus the cashier was nice and very polite and provided me excellent customer service. Left review for the free donuts but also for his polite knowledge service
I am a regular customer of Pei Wei but today I HD to travel to Fort Worth and I stoped by this location to have an early dinner, to my surprise, everything at this location was better than anywhere else I’ve been before, the food quality, the ambient but what puts this Pei Wei ahead of all the others is the customer service. The General Manager took care of our order and he went well above and beyond to provide the best service, I believe his name is Sean. Hi posses great people’s skills and amazing customer service skills. This gentleman is a credit to your organization and should be recognized.
It’s a Miracle! Literally, her name is Miracle! She was an amazing staff member, very friendly and great addition to the front lines of this Asian Cuisine location. 5 Stars doesn’t do it justice but I’ll give what I have. Thank you Miracle for your kindness and your great service.
Well it has been a few years since I have been to Pei Wei and I think this will be the last.. Portion size does not equal cost of food (14+ with drink). I know times have changed but this is ridiculous. I wish I had something next to this little plate that would show just how little amount of food there is here. Pei Wei used to give so much more. Even the friend that was with me was surprised at what little I received compared to his dish. I had to go get plasticware and swing by the restroom to wash my hands. The friend that was with me mentioned it to an employee that I was not happy with my portion.. She said that this was the portion size and there was nothing they could do. As far as the staff goes there were no problems with them. They were very nice and one member from the staff did mention that they have received complaints from other people about the portion size.
