About Pei Wei Asian Kitchen

Looking for a Chinese restaurant in Tustin? Pei Wei Asian Kitchen, located at 2695 Park Ave, might be your next stop. You can contact them at (714) 259-1125 or their mobile number +1 714-259-1125.

Pei Wei Asian Kitchen is a chain restaurant that cooks its dishes to order, offering a potentially fresher alternative to standard fast-food Chinese options. One first-time visitor was pleasantly surprised by the quality and the extensive menu, highly recommending the flavorful Kung Pao Chicken, Broccoli Beef, and especially the Szechuan Green Beans, which were described as exceptionally well-marinated. The fried rice served with the meals was noted for its moist texture and good temperature. The service was also commended, with a friendly staff member offering helpful recommendations.

Another customer experienced Pei Wei for the first time through a Buy One Get One (BOGO) deal. While acknowledging it as a chain, they noted the cook-to-order aspect, which can lead to a wait time of around 20-30 minutes for food preparation. Their review of specific dishes was mixed. The Firecracker Shrimp received high praise for being crispy and tasty, likened to honeyed shrimp without walnuts. However, the Spicy Korean BBQ Steak was a disappointment, described as overly salty with no discernible sweetness or typical Korean BBQ flavor. The Fried Rice, on the other hand, was rated as pretty good.

One notable point of feedback concerned the restroom's lack of air circulation, making it uncomfortably warm.

In summary, Pei Wei Asian Kitchen in Tustin offers a range of cooked-to-order Asian dishes. While experiences may vary, standout items like the Szechuan Green Beans and Firecracker Shrimp, along with generally good service, make it a potential option for those seeking a step up from typical fast-food Chinese. Be aware of potential wait times due to the cooking process and the mixed reviews on certain dishes.

I was surprised to see the reviews not a little bit higher, but regardless, my wife took me here for my first time since she has been here before and said it was pretty good. I would definitely agree and say it was very good, and they had a large number of options. We ended up ordering the Kung Pai Chicken, Broccoli Beef, Szechuan Green Beans, and more. The Green beans are honestly the best I have had in a very long time. I am not a fan of green beans, but the marinade that is on these, I was easily able to eat the full bowl of green beans before I remembered to grab a picture. As for the beef and chicken, they each had great flavor and great seasoning as well. The fried rice with each was moist and not too hot or dry. As for the veggies, they are pretty standard and basic, but again, this is a solid option, in my opinion, as a better Panda Express option. Definitely recommend it and have been a few times now since the first visit! The service was great, and the front lady was sweet enough to provide honest feedback and let us know the go-to's!

We got a BOGO deal so we got food here for the first time. It's a chain Chinese food place. They cook to order, so food can take a while to come out, around 20-30 minutes. Overall, the food was not bad, but hit and miss. * Firecracker Shrimp 5/5 - Crispy, tasty shrimp. Tasted like honeyed shrimp but with no walnuts. * Spicy Korean BBQ Steak 1/5 - Tasted like salted or soy sauce beef that is extremely salty. Had no sweetness or KBBQ flavor. * Fried Rice 4/5 - Pretty good fried rice. Restroom had no air circulation so it was like walking into a sauna. Not sure if it's intended or they just need to fix it.

While I give this place all 5 Stars, it truly could be better however I really love the food from PEI WEI, I wish there was one closer to me as I live in San Diego. I go to this location on a regular basis when I am traveling between Los Angeles and San Diego. The food is always great. The service is different as it always feels like the location is about to close, and the atmosphere is quite which I do like as I am usually there at the end of a long day and usually trying to let the traffic die down a little before I continue my trip back home. I know that this is not traditional Asian food, but it does taste good, and I usually get a second plate to take home for lunch the following day.

Though the food isn't the most unique, that doesn't mean the food isn't good... because the food is quite tasteful. I tried the beef and broccoli which was great, the orange chicken included actual orange slices which is always nice, the crab rangoons were decent and excelled most in giving an actual crabby flavor. The service here is fast and efficient. But the best thing about this restaurant is the perfect portion amount for relatively little calories (only around 500 per dish). Though it's almost oxymoronic to eat out and expect to eat healthy, Pei Wei Asian Kitchen makes this goal a little more in reach. Would recommend!

I love the place. I love the food. It’s clean the moment you walk in there they’re greeting you. They are very helpful. I would recommend it to anybody Amy, with that smile greeting people and Ricky very helpful Jonathan the Cook as well. The taste of the food is perfect. My favorite is the shrimp I’ve tried all of them. They’re all good. Keep up to go to work. I wish you had one in Los Angeles.
