About Pei Wei Asian Kitchen

Pei Wei Asian Kitchen is located at 20851 N Scottsdale Rd Suite 105, Scottsdale, AZ 85255, USA, and can be contacted at (480) 365-6002 or +1 480-365-6002. As a Chinese restaurant, Pei Wei offers a variety of Asian-inspired dishes.

Customer reviews present a mixed picture of experiences at this Pei Wei location. One customer who visited on Super Bowl Sunday had a positive experience, enjoying the Orange Chicken and Fried Wontons, noting they were better than at a previous location. The only suggestion for improvement was the sweetness of the sauce.

However, another recent customer reported significant issues. During one visit, they found the host to be rude and exhibiting a distracting nervous habit. While they found the hot honey chicken meal "pretty good," a subsequent visit led to a severe negative experience. This customer described a different, nicer host but observed a single chef frequently checking their phone while seemingly preparing food. Following this visit, the customer reported becoming "terribly sick" with symptoms of food poisoning and expressed extreme dissatisfaction with the corporate response, claiming they offered "NOTHING" in compensation.

Given these contrasting recent experiences, potential customers may want to consider the reported inconsistencies in service and food handling when deciding whether to dine at this Pei Wei Asian Kitchen location in Scottsdale.

So I went here on Super bowl Sunday after a long day. Couldn't find very many establishments that were open because of Super bowl. I found this particular spot and got the Orange Chicken and Fried Wontons it was great and much better than my first experience in another location. The only thing I would change is the sweetness of the sauce it was a little much but great.

Went last week, hot honey chicken meal was pretty good but the host was rude and kept banging his knee against a metal cupboard like some nervous tick and i counted them do it over 100 times in 5 minutes. Because the food was tasty I tried once again this week. Different nicer host but only one chef and he kept literally checking his phone which was dinging with new texts while he "cooked" with his right hand. Couldn't finish fast enough and went and sat to text more. Guess what, that was last night and I've been terribly sick since (15 hours later my body evacuated everything). Avoid this place like the plague. Their corporate offered me NOTHING for getting food POISONED? HAHAHA

The staff was amazing , and really helped us choose the best meals. Food was okay - but it was a late night food run and was the best we could get. Great big eating hall. 🤠

My family has eaten here for over 20 years. The only thing consistent with this location is the incremental decline in the quality of food and service. Orders are constantly made wrong, most food items are not of consistent quality, high employee turnover, and despite this the prices keep going up. People answering the phone get more rude and impatient every year, those working the counter inside are busier playing on their phones than they are doing their job, and the food quality has drastically decreased from what it once was. This place has become a fast food restaurant without the drive-thru window. I would give this place a higher rating if it had a drive-thru window, because then at least I am getting what I pay for. We continue to eat here because it is the closest "Asian-inspired restaurant" to the house, and the food is still semi-palatable despite the obvious decline in flavor, quality, and affordability. Pei Wei charges high prices for an overall low-quality experience, and we won't be recommending this specific location to anyone we know. Leaving this review finally after many years of dissatisfaction. This negative review has been hard-earned by the Grayhawk Plaza Pei Wei location. Also, please bring back the old school orange peel chicken (your best dish). Hopefully the right person sees this and does something about the disappointment that this Pei Wei has become. EDIT: I was told to report this to the website below from the "owner" and yet I have still not heard back about my complaint nor has the issue been addressed. What is the point of a review and sending in a complaint if no one will respond or show that they actually care about the poor service and negative experience? The review I left should be a 1-star review given the lack of care and consideration they actually show to their customers.

I’ve always gone to the Fast China Bear ( you know the one) I’m a ride share driver, and a client works at a different location, and really got me curious. I mean. Better than P.E.? That’s a bold statement for a chain restaurant. My oldest son and I were out yesterday, and I suggested we try it. We found this location and ordered the family platter... they didn’t mention it was for a family of 6! The service was good, but the proof in in the Mongolian beef. This meat was thick (by stir fry standards) tender, and I literally moaned at the first bite. Oh! And they let us eat there, with social distancing of course. The only problem I have is that I can never be happy at PE now. Their price point is a bit higher than the other place, but the portions and quality make it more than worth it.
