About Peach Garden
Peach Garden is a Chinese restaurant located at 536 S College Ave, Bloomington, IN 47403, USA. As a local establishment within the Chinese Restaurant category, Peach Garden offers a range of Chinese-American dishes, with services including both dine-in and delivery based on customer experiences. They can be contacted at (812) 332-3437 or via their mobile number, +1 812-332-3437.
Based on recent customer reviews, Peach Garden presents a somewhat concerning picture, particularly regarding food quality and consistency. While the restaurant has a history of decent experiences for some patrons, recent feedback highlights significant issues that potential local users should be aware of. It is important to consider both the positive aspects, such as customer service, and the negative experiences related to food quality and safety.
One long-time customer, who had been eating at Peach Garden for years and generally had a "decent experience," reported a severe incident following a recent delivery. While they noted that the staff had always been kind and the food was usually fresh (though a bit expensive compared to other places), their latest meal was significantly different. The delivery arrived earlier than expected, which was initially seen as positive. However, the food appeared overcooked and burnt in some areas. Upon eating a small portion, the customer reported feeling unwell and subsequently experienced vomiting, nausea, and diarrhea for an extended period (12-13 hours). This serious health issue prompted the reviewer to urge the restaurant staff to review their food safety protocols to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future. This review raises significant concerns about the restaurant's current food handling and preparation practices.
Another customer shared their experience with a substantial $85 takeout order, providing insights into several dishes. They found the food to be "pretty standard American Chinese food," with the egg rolls being a notable exception, described as "really good." However, other dishes received less favorable reviews. The General Tso's chicken was noted for lacking sufficient sauce, the pepper chicken had a sparse amount of chicken and was not spicy as expected, and the homeward boiled dumplings were considered bland with very thick dough. The lo mein and fried rice were deemed "good" but lacking in flavor. On a positive note, this reviewer praised the "EXCELLENT customer service," mentioning a call to inform them their order was ready and describing the person on the phone as friendly and easily understandable. They also noted that Peach Garden does not offer a cash discount. Despite the good customer service, the overall impression of the food was not stellar, leading the customer to conclude that while they were glad they tried the restaurant, they "probably won’t be back." This review highlights issues with the flavor and preparation of several key dishes, even in a large order.
Based on these reviews, the environment of Peach Garden is not explicitly described. However, the mention of both dine-in (from the long-time customer's past experiences) and delivery services indicates that they cater to different dining preferences. The positive comments about the phone service suggest a friendly and efficient interaction for takeout and delivery orders.
The services offered by Peach Garden include both dine-in (based on past experiences mentioned in the first review) and delivery. Takeout is also implied as the second reviewer placed a large order for pickup. The customer service, particularly the phone communication for order readiness, is highlighted as excellent. However, the efficiency and quality of the delivery service are called into question by the first reviewer's experience with overcooked food that potentially caused foodborne illness.
Features of Peach Garden include a menu of standard American Chinese food, with egg rolls being a standout item according to one reviewer. However, the consistency and quality of other dishes appear to be problematic, with complaints about overcooked and burnt food, lack of flavor, insufficient sauce or meat, and blandness. The higher pricing compared to other establishments, mentioned by the long-time customer, is a feature that was previously justified by the perceived freshness of the food, a quality that seems to have declined recently. The lack of a cash discount is also a point of information for potential customers.
Promotional information is not mentioned in the provided customer reviews. Local users interested in any special offers, discounts, or loyalty programs at Peach Garden would need to contact the restaurant directly or check any online platforms they might use for advertising.
In conclusion, Peach Garden in Bloomington presents a concerning picture based on recent customer feedback. While the restaurant has a history of decent experiences and is praised for its excellent customer service over the phone, significant issues have been raised regarding the quality and safety of their food, particularly for delivery and takeout orders. Complaints of overcooked and burnt food, lack of flavor, and a serious case of suspected foodborne illness are major red flags for potential local users. While the egg rolls were a positive standout, the inconsistencies in other dishes and the higher prices compared to competitors make it difficult to recommend Peach Garden without significant reservations. Local users might want to exercise extreme caution and consider recent experiences before deciding to order from or dine at this establishment.

Customer Reviews
I have been eating at peach garden for years and up until last night it’s been a decent experience. The staff has always been kind etc. The meals have been a bit expensive compared to other places but I never really minded because the food was always fresh. We had a delivery last night and it showed up earlier than expected which was good news. The food at first glance was overcooked and burnt in some spots and while eating it didn’t taste very fresh but I assumed it was because it had been overcooked and didn’t feel quite right after eating a small portion of the meal In the middle of the night I woke with vomiting, nausea, and diarrhea that has not subsided we are working on about 12-13 hours of these symptoms. I urge the staff there to review their food safety protocols so this doesn’t continue to happen.
Everything in the picture amounted to a total of $85. Everything was pretty standard American Chinese food. I thought the egg rolls stood out as really good but other than that nothing was stellar. The general Tso didn’t have much sauce, the pepper chicken did not have much chicken and wasn’t that spicy, the homeward boiled dumplings were pretty bland and the dumpling dough was very thick. The lo mein and fried rice were good but were lacking something in flavor. I do want to say that they had EXCELLENT customer service and called us to let us know our order was ready. The guy on the phone is friendly and easily understandable. They do not take a cash discount. All in all glad we tried but we probably won’t be back.
Love it! First time trying this place and it's great! Prices are good and the service was even better. The lady up front was extremely nice and knowledgeable when it came to my wife having a gluten free issue. And the gluten free options are really good. We will be back! And you will take my tip next time lol. The lady up front is very very very very nice. Thank you
Hands down one of the best take out places in Bloomington. I genuinely have not had a bad experience here and recommend it whenever I can. Try the sesame beef, it’ll change your life.
Another order out for me. It took a little longer than expected, but that's GrubHub and a busy restaurant! You can find your standard American-Chinese food here, which is just fine! Portions and cost were good in my opinion. Everything tasted fine. I enjoyed the rice and lo mein. I had a couple rangoon as well. Those were my favorite.
