About Panda's Den
Panda's Den is a Chinese restaurant situated at 5724 E W.T. Harris Blvd E in Charlotte, North Carolina. As a member of the Chinese Restaurant category, it aims to serve the local community with a variety of Asian cuisine options. For inquiries or to place an order, they can be contacted at (704) 567-0088 or via mobile phone at +1 704-567-0088.
Based on the available customer reviews, Panda's Den presents a mixed picture of dining experiences. One enthusiastic customer described it as their "absolute favorite," praising the freshness and crispness of the vegetables, the great flavor of the food, and the "extraordinary value," noting that a combo meal could satisfyingly feed two people. This reviewer also lauded the "unmatched customer service" and stated they do not order from any other establishment, indicating a highly positive and loyal customer experience.
However, another customer's experience was significantly different, highlighting some potential drawbacks. Their first impression was that the restaurant was "very chilly," which led to their food cooling down quickly within ten minutes. This customer also noted low traffic during their Wednesday evening visit, with only a couple of other patrons present. While they found the service to be "very quick and quite good," they suggested that occasional check-ups would have been appreciated.
Regarding the food, this reviewer had a positive experience with most dishes, except for the beef, which they described as being of "very low grade" with "much fat and gristle," making some pieces unchewable. Based on this, they recommended avoiding any dishes containing beef. They also pointed out a specific issue with their shrimp dish, noting that the "shrimp tail shell" was still in place in the cooked food. Despite these concerns, they mentioned that the place appeared clean and that the food came out quickly and hot initially.
The cold temperature of the restaurant was a major point of concern for this reviewer, as it not only caused their food to cool rapidly but also "cut our stay and marred the experience." They speculated that the cold temperature might be due to management aiming for quick turnover or trying to save on heating costs. Due to this discomfort, the reviewer stated they would not recommend the place and would hesitate before returning. Interestingly, this reviewer's wife seemed to enjoy her food but shared the same complaint about the cold temperature inside the restaurant.
Considering these contrasting reviews, Panda's Den appears to offer some significant positives, such as fresh vegetables, flavorful food, excellent value with large portion sizes, and potentially very good customer service, as highlighted by the first reviewer. These aspects could be major draws for customers prioritizing these factors. However, the second review raises serious concerns about the restaurant's indoor temperature, which significantly impacted the dining experience, as well as the quality of the beef and the presence of shrimp shells in a cooked dish. These are issues that potential customers should be aware of.
The environment of Panda's Den, based on the limited information, seems to be a no-frills setting where the focus is primarily on the food and service. The mention of low traffic during a weekday evening might suggest that it is not a bustling dine-in location, though this could vary depending on the time and day. The quick service noted by one reviewer could be a positive for those looking for a fast meal.
In conclusion, Panda's Den in Charlotte, NC, offers a mix of positive attributes, including fresh ingredients, good value, and potentially excellent service, which has earned it a loyal following from some customers. However, there are also significant concerns raised about the cold temperature inside the restaurant and the quality of specific ingredients like beef, as well as issues with food preparation such as leaving shrimp shells on. Local users considering dining at Panda's Den might want to weigh these factors and perhaps inquire about the restaurant's heating situation, especially during colder months, and be mindful of the potential inconsistencies reported in the food quality of certain items.

Customer Reviews
My absolute favorite! I've tried other places and they never measure up. Vegetables are fresh and crisp. Great flavor! Extraordinary value!! I easily can make a combo a satisfying meal for 2. Unmatched customer service! I don't order from anywhere else.
First impression, very chilly in here. My food got cold within 10 minutes. Not much traffic here, no more than 2 other people here during my visit. Granted it was a Wednesday evening. Service was very quick and quite good, though a quick check up now and then would have been helpful. Food was very good, except for the beef. Seems to be a very low grade of beef with much fat and gristle. I couldn't even chew some pieces. I'd steer clear of any dishes with beef, you won't be happy. Shrimp tail shell still in place, in cooked food. Place appeared clean with very little staff in view. Food came out quickly and hot. Once on plate, however, it cooled of quite quickly because of cold temperature of inside restaurant. Temperature is the only part of experience that was quite annoying. It cut our stay and marred the experience. It was like management was looking for quick turn over or cheaping out on the heat. For this reason alone, I would not recommend this place and would hesitate before going here again. Wife seemed to enjoy her food, but same complaint about cold restaurant.
This Chinese restaurant has been around for over 30 years, and it’s easy to see why—it serves truly authentic Chinese food, the kind you’d find in a home-cooked meal. The flavors are rich and comforting, and everything tastes delicious. One of the best dishes to try is M1: Braised Pork Rice, which is full of flavor and perfectly cooked. The only downside is that the menu hasn’t changed in a long time, so if you’re looking for new or trendy options, you won’t find them here. But if you want classic, authentic Chinese comfort food, this place is a great choice!
I’ve been coming to this restaurant ever since I’ve been a child. My family moved to Charlotte in 1997, and for as long as I can remember, this has been my favorite Chinese food restaurant. I went back yesterday night and the food is still as amazing as I remember. Portions are phenomenal And the music that they play always sound so traditional it immediately adds to the atmosphere. Can’t wait to come back more often and planning my 30th birthday to eat here during the summertime. An amazing restaurant and even better memories.
I don’t care for greasy food. And food over cooked and cooked fast and mushy on inside. Spring Eggs rolls are small and very greasy. At first I wasn’t gonna post, but why should I care, if he felt it was ok to serve me greasy rolls. I hope he does better in the future. And give napkins!! I could of use some to soak up the grease 😒
