About Panda Palace

Panda Palace, located at 531 S Townsend Ave, Montrose, CO 81401, USA, is a Chinese restaurant operating within the "Chinese Restaurant" platform category, serving the local community. It can be contacted by phone at (970) 252-3435 or +1 970-252-3435. This introduction aims to provide an objective and detailed overview of Panda Palace, encompassing its environment, services, distinct features, and any general promotional information, drawing insights from available customer reviews.

The environment of Panda Palace is described by one customer as an "unassuming Chinese restaurant in Montrose." This suggests that while it may not boast elaborate or highly stylized decor, it likely offers a comfortable and functional dining space typical of a local eatery. "Unassuming" often implies a focus on the food and service rather than opulent surroundings, creating a more casual and relaxed atmosphere. The objective of such an environment is generally to provide a clean and welcoming space where patrons can enjoy their meals without pretension. While specific details about the interior design, seating capacity, or aesthetic elements are not extensively detailed in the provided reviews, the emphasis is seemingly on the overall dining experience rather than the visual grandeur. A practical and straightforward layout for both dine-in and takeout operations is expected, facilitating efficient service for customers.

Service at Panda Palace appears to be streamlined, especially for takeout orders, which are noted to be "literally ready in 10 min if they are not packed." This indicates a strong emphasis on efficiency and quick turnaround times, particularly appealing to customers seeking a fast and convenient meal. The rapid preparation makes it "Great for an in a pinch meal." The reviews also highlight that the restaurant offers "take out," which is a crucial service for many Chinese restaurants, catering to individuals and families who prefer to dine at home. The staff's interaction and attentiveness, beyond the speed of service, are not extensively detailed in the provided snippets. However, the overall efficiency for takeout suggests a well-organized kitchen and front-of-house operation. The ease of ordering and quick fulfillment are key aspects of their service model, contributing to customer satisfaction for those prioritizing speed and convenience.

The features of Panda Palace revolve around its menu offerings and the overall dining experience, with customer feedback providing a mixed but evolving perspective. Historically, the quality of the food has been a fluctuating point. An "original review" mentioned a "significant decline in the quality of their chicken," describing it as "soggy mostly ground up chicken" for orange chicken, and "soupy ground up tiny pieces." This specific criticism points to issues with meat quality and preparation methods, which led to a strong negative impression. However, a more recent "Update: 2025" from the same long-time customer indicates a positive shift, stating that "the quality is a bit better" and "take out was better than previous past experiences, cuts of meat a bit better." This suggests that the restaurant may have addressed previous quality concerns, leading to an improved dining experience. Another review offers a more consistently positive outlook, praising "great fresh ingredients," "very generous portions," and "authentically flavorful" dishes. This particular customer considered it their "go-to spot for the best Chinese food" if they lived closer, especially noting that the "meals they offer... comes with so much food!" This highlights that portion size and flavor are significant strengths when the quality is on point. The menu likely encompasses a range of classic Chinese-American dishes, offering various options from entrees with rice and noodles to appetizers like egg rolls. While one reviewer found the egg rolls "not bad, not stellar," the overall consensus on generous portions and authentic flavor from some customers indicates a potentially satisfying culinary experience, especially with the recent improvements in food quality. The variety of dishes available, including popular items like orange chicken and kung pao chicken, forms the core of their offerings.

Regarding promotional information, Panda Palace appears to offer competitive pricing, as one review notes "very reasonable prices for a good meal!" and states it's "not super pricy." The mentioned cost of "$30-50 tip included for two adults with a side of egg rolls" provides a tangible example of their pricing structure, indicating that it offers good value for money, especially considering the generous portions. While specific ongoing promotions like loyalty programs, daily specials, or online order discounts are not detailed in the provided information, the focus on affordability and value is a key promotional aspect in itself. Many independent Chinese restaurants, like Panda Palace, often rely on word-of-mouth and consistent value to attract and retain customers rather than extensive advertising campaigns. Potential customers looking for current deals or special offers would best inquire directly with the restaurant via phone or in person, or check for any local online listings or social media presence that might feature promotional announcements. The combination of reasonable pricing and generous portions, especially with the reported improvements in food quality, serves as a strong incentive for diners seeking an affordable and fulfilling Chinese meal in Montrose.

Update: 2025, the quality is a bit better, take out was better than previous past experiences, I've lived here for 20+ years. I don't need "Local Guide" to tell you the truth. Take is slightly better than the original review, cuts of meat a bit better. I will create a new review in the next 30 days with a fresh mindset. Upgraded to 3 Stars from 2, worth your while in a pinch, not super pricy. $30-50 tip included for two adults with a side of egg rolls (not bad, not stellar) When you order takeout, it's literally ready in 10 min if they are not packed. Great for a in a pinch meal. (Original Review) Quality has tanked in the last 100 days. We use to order every week and we have noticed a significant decline in the quality of their chicken. Soggy mostly ground up chicken when I ordered orange chicken. Not even caramelized, just soupy ground up tiny pieces of chicken. Won’t be ordering again till summer, I don’t recommend this place now or in the near future. What happened tonight is a disgrace, a PBJ looks better than this.

Unassuming Chinese restaurant in Montrose. They had great fresh ingredients, very generous portions and authentically flavorful. I don’t live close but if I did, this would be my go to spot for the best Chinese food! We got the meals they offer and it comes with so much food!

Came here with my boyfriend and had an amazing experience. We had the orange chicken and sesame chicken, both were incredible. The portions are absolutely insane, the best bang for my buck I have had since covid. The inside is clean and the staff are super friendly.

This is a very strange place. First of all, I’ve never had wonton soup that had cauliflower in it. But it has no pork. And you have to pay for crispy noodles!! If you want anything other than strange vegetables, you have to buy war wonton with shrimp. I went there the first time and thought that was strange but the food was okay. Went back the second time, got the war wonton and orange chicken, about an hour after eating I got sick and was up all night. I didn’t know if it was the food or not. I went back a few weeks later, same order same sickness! Food poisoning is all I can come up with It’s very expensive and my fresh at all
