About Panda

Welcome to Panda, a Chinese restaurant nestled in Matthews, North Carolina, serving the local community with a variety of Chinese culinary delights. Located at 13661 Providence Rd, Matthews, NC 28104, USA, Panda offers a convenient option for those seeking a quick and satisfying Chinese meal. You can easily reach them at (704) 844-6888 or their mobile number +1 704-844-6888 to place your order or inquire about their services.

According to local reviews, Panda might be a "small place you might otherwise overlook," suggesting a more unassuming presence. However, its convenient location has made it a viable alternative for those in the area, as one reviewer mentioned discovering it when they were initially heading to get a sub. This indicates that Panda serves as a readily accessible option for Chinese cuisine in the Matthews area.

One customer highlighted their experience as a "quick lunch stop," emphasizing the "fast, friendly, and courteous service" they received. This suggests that Panda prioritizes efficiency and customer service, making it a suitable choice for those looking for a swift meal during their lunch break or any other time. The reviewer specifically enjoyed the Shrimp Lo Mein and a Pork Egg Roll, along with a drink. An interesting detail mentioned was the opportunity to see their order written in Chinese, possibly indicating an authentic touch in their order processing or receipt system.

Another long-time patron considers Panda to offer "some of the best Chinese takeout in town." Their consistent satisfaction over the years speaks volumes about the quality and reliability of Panda's food. They particularly recommend the sesame chicken as a comforting favorite, while also noting that "everything I have tried there has been good." This suggests a generally high standard across their menu, catering to various tastes and preferences within Chinese cuisine.

In terms of the restaurant's ambiance, the same reviewer mentioned that "the inside is a little run down and does not have the greatest atmosphere." This aligns with the earlier comment about it being a small and perhaps easily overlooked place. However, the crucial point is that despite any perceived shortcomings in the interior decor, the customer is "never disappointed by this place," with one exception – its closure on Mondays. This reinforces the idea that Panda's strength lies in the quality of its food and service, making it a preferred choice for takeout despite any perceived lack of aesthetic appeal for dine-in customers.

Considering the feedback, Panda appears to be a Chinese restaurant that prioritizes efficient and friendly service, offering a menu of consistently well-regarded dishes, particularly the Sesame Chicken, Shrimp Lo Mein, and Pork Egg Rolls. While the interior atmosphere might not be its strongest suit, its reputation for delicious takeout and quick service makes it a popular choice among locals in Matthews, NC. If you are in the area and looking for a reliable Chinese takeout option with a focus on taste and speed, Panda is a place to consider. Remember they are closed on Mondays, so plan your orders accordingly. Give them a call at (704) 844-6888 or +1 704-844-6888 to experience their offerings for yourself and discover why it's a local favorite for Chinese takeout.

Kinda a small place you might otherwise overlook! I was headed to get a sub before I realized Chinese was an option. This was a quick lunch stop…fast, friendly, and courteous service. I ordered Shrimp Lo Mein and a Pork Egg Roll with a drink. This was my first opportunity to see my order in Chinese!

Some of the best Chinese takeout in town. I have been going for years and always like to get their sesame chicken as some comfort food, although everything I have tried there has been good. The inside is a little run down and does not have the greatest atmosphere, but I am never disappointed by this place, except for when it's closed on Mondays.

WILL NEVER RETURN AGAIN! ATTEMPTED TO RECOOK AND SERVE A RETURNED ORDER TO ME. A dine-in customer returned his order while I was placing my order. The Female cook looked to see if I was watching but I had on sunglasses while she took his order back to the kitchen and dumped it in the wok. If I hadn't demanded that I didn't want that as my order, they would have recooked and served that returned order back to me. Food should never be taken back to the kitchen after it is returned, that customer could have eaten some of it, contaminated it or whatever. She never discarded the container so someone else was sold and served that returned meal. Absolutely disappointing and disgusting!! I'm angry that they would even try to do that to me or any other customer.

I am a regular there. One of the better Chinese takeout places in the Carolinas. There is not really a Chinese Restaurant that I love since moving to the region. They simply do not have any specific Chinese food distributors in the Carolinas like they have up north. As a result, the Chinese food in these parts taste inferior to what I am used to eating.

I ordered for lunch today shrimp fried rice and wanted snow peas and onions added which i was prepared to pay extra for. What I received was literally 5 snow peas and 6 pieces of chopped onion put on top of my rice in the box and was charged $2 😐 Baffled, I called Panda to make sure this is what it's supposed to be, the woman stated quite confidently to that's it, I then asked, "really not a few more pieces of each at least mixed into my rice", her response to me was "no...snow peas are expensive"... ummm, ma'am not that expensive to throw 5 off them and 6 chopped pieces of onion on top of my rice! I have patronized this restaurant for 4 years and NEVER have had this experience until recently with this new young woman that works the counter. It's safe to say Panda has received the last bit of my coins!!
