About Panda Hut Chinese Restaurant
Panda Hut Chinese Restaurant, located at 7136 W Greenfield Ave in West Allis, Wisconsin, offers Chinese cuisine for takeout. They can be contacted at (414) 774-1689 or +1 414-774-1689. Customer reviews online present a somewhat contrasting view of this establishment.
One recent, highly critical review details a disappointing experience with several dishes ordered for delivery through DoorDash. The reviewer described the General Tso’s chicken as unusually hard and lacking typical flavor and spice, with undercooked broccoli. The sesame chicken was reported to have the same hard texture and sauce as the General Tso's chicken. The egg rolls were described as stale, and the vegetable fried rice was hard with crunchy vegetables. The boneless shredded rib bowl was also criticized for being dry and lacking sauce, ultimately causing stomach discomfort. This reviewer, noting friendly staff and quick preparation time, also mentioned observing pre-rolled egg rolls being stored in a cooler. They expressed extreme disappointment and planned to dispute the charges.
In contrast, another reviewer described a positive experience, finding Panda Hut to be an "affordable" option with "generous servings of food and quick amenable service." This customer, seeking "comfort food made to taste exceptional," praised the "million options menu" and particularly enjoyed their General Zhao's chicken combo with chicken fried rice and crab rangoons, also receiving a complimentary egg roll. They highly recommended it for a "takeout fix."
The reviews suggest that experiences at Panda Hut Chinese Restaurant can vary significantly. While one customer reported severe issues with food quality across multiple dishes, another found the food to be affordable, plentiful, and satisfying. Potential local users may want to weigh these contrasting opinions when considering Panda Hut for their Chinese takeout needs. The restaurant appears to offer quick service and friendly staff, but food quality seems to be inconsistent according to recent feedback.

Sigh… This is the first review I’ve ever written, but the food was so bad that I feel compelled to speak on my experience. My family and I were in the mood for authentic Chinese cuisine, and we chose this place through DoorDash because it was close to home. Unfortunately, it was a complete disappointment. We ordered several different items, all of which (should’ve) had different flavors. The General Tso’s chicken was unlike anything I’ve ever tasted before, and not in a good way. The chicken was extremely hard when it should have been tender after being simmered in the marinade. Every bite was tough, as if they had fried it until it was rock solid and then just dumped sauce over it right before pickup. The broccoli garnish with the rice was also undercooked and not tender at all, we could’ve dipped it in ranch and ate it as raw broccoli. Needless to say It just didn’t taste like General Tso’s chicken, nor did it have any spice like I’ve had from other restaurants. The sesame chicken was no better. It had the same hard texture as the General Tso’s chicken, with the only difference being the sesame seeds sprinkled on top- The sauce that was used on the General Tso’s chicken was the same sauce that was used for the sesame. The egg rolls tasted stale, as they are pre-rolled, sitting in a cooler for days before being fried to order (I seen this upon pickup) and we could tell immediately after we bit into them. The veggie fried rice was just as bad—hard, with undercooked, crunchy vegetables. Lastly, the boneless shredded rib bowl was nothing like what was advertised. It looked tender and well-sauced in the pictures, but what we received was dry, tough, and completely lacking sauce. This meal literally made my stomach hurt. My husband, who works third shift, took a few bites and ultimately decided to leave early so he could stop somewhere else for food on the way to work. We are beyond disappointed, and I will be disputing the charges with my bank. After reading other reviews, I see that this place is definitely hit or miss—I just wish I had read them before placing my order. The only plus about this experience is that the food was ready in a timely manner and the staff was friendly. I was wondering how such a big order was ready for pick-up in 20 minutes but we soon found out why.
I'm on a personal mission to find all the hole in the wall Chinese takeout near me in Milwaukee, and Panda Hut got the bill. Affordable, generous servings of food and quick amenable service. I'm not looking for style or fabulousness, but comfort food made to taste exceptional. I love their million options menu, my general Zhao's chicken combo with chicken fried rice and crab rangoons was incredible. I always try and save some leftovers for lunch the next day and with a whole bag of crab rangoons and complimentary egg roll, I was stuffed within a few minutes. Highly recommend for your next takeout fix.
They do not do buffets 😭 I just moved to the area from Ohio and I read in their description that they serve lunch buffet and was super excited. When I went in there was no buffet. I asked the owner and she said they stopped doing buffets. I showed her where it still said they did lunch buffets and advised her to update Google. Sweet and sour chicken and lo mein was amazing. 10/10.
New favorite Chinese restaurant. Ordered sweet and sour chicken and shrimp friend rice after our usual place closed and wow just blown away. It’s always a little scary trying a new place after having so many bad experiences but I can promise you that you will not be disappointed. Sauce isn’t watered down and chicken isn’t so crispy it breaks your teeth. Chicken separates easily with every bite ( it doesn’t come out so that you’re left with a shell of breading like some places do), shrimp fried rice was very good and had enough shrimp to have one in every bite. Just a very good place. 10/10 would recommend.
I ordered some pepper steak and shrimp fried rice online. The pepper steak tasted nasty, so I could only eat the rice. I went to the restaurant for a refund no one in there knew what to do, so I had to wait a few minutes. After being assured I would get a refund, I still didn’t get my $$ back. I will not go back to that restaurant.
