About Panda House

Panda House is a Chinese restaurant located at 1805 W State of Franklin Rd, Johnson City, TN 37604, USA, serving the local community within the Chinese Restaurant category. Based on the limited recent customer feedback available online, experiences at Panda House appear to be sharply divided, with one customer praising it as their new favorite while another reported a severe case of foodborne illness. This detailed introduction aims to provide an objective overview of the restaurant based on these contrasting reviews to help local users form their own expectations.

The environment of Panda House is described by one reviewer as a "hole in the wall establishment," which typically suggests a small, unassuming, and perhaps older building that may prioritize food quality and value over elaborate décor. This description doesn't provide extensive details about the ambiance or cleanliness, but it sets a certain expectation for the physical setting. The other reviewer did not comment on the environment.

The services offered by Panda House include at least takeout, as one reviewer specifically mentioned ordering "to-go." It can be inferred that dine-in service is also likely available, given the nature of most Chinese restaurants, although this is not explicitly stated in the provided reviews. One reviewer lauded the "amazing staff," indicating a positive experience with the customer service provided during their takeout order. In contrast, the other reviewer's severe negative experience focused primarily on the food quality and did not explicitly comment on the staff's demeanor or service efficiency.

The features of Panda House, particularly the food quality and pricing, have elicited strongly contrasting opinions. One customer described the food as "superb" and noted that the prices were "at half the price of their competition," highlighting both excellent quality and affordability. This reviewer was so impressed that they declared Panda House their "new favorite place to eat in Johnson City" and expressed regret for not discovering it sooner. This positive feedback suggests that Panda House has the potential to offer delicious food at a great value.

However, the second review presents a starkly different and deeply concerning experience. This customer ordered Egg Foo Young with fried rice and reported that it smelled spoiled and tasted like chemicals. Subsequently, they began feeling sick. Their sister ordered rib tips and pork fried rice and experienced vomiting and diarrhea. This severe reaction strongly suggests a case of food poisoning, raising serious concerns about the food safety and handling practices at Panda House. The reviewer stated unequivocally that they "will not go back ever," indicating a complete loss of trust in the restaurant.

Regarding promotional information, the first reviewer mentioned the affordable pricing ("half the price of their competition"), which could be considered a significant feature and a form of value promotion. However, no specific discounts, special offers, or ongoing promotions were mentioned in either review. Local users interested in finding out about any potential deals or new menu items are advised to contact the restaurant directly using the phone number provided. Without any explicit information, it is not possible to comment on any current promotional activities the restaurant might be running.

In conclusion, the recent customer feedback for Panda House in Johnson City, TN, presents a dramatic dichotomy. One customer had an overwhelmingly positive experience, praising the amazing staff, superb food, and incredibly affordable prices, recommending it as a hidden gem. Conversely, another customer reported a severe case of suspected food poisoning after consuming the food, citing a spoiled smell and chemical taste in the Egg Foo Young, and similar symptoms experienced by their sister who ate rib tips and pork fried rice. This stark contrast makes it difficult to form a definitive objective assessment. While the potential for great food and value exists, the serious food safety concerns raised by the second review cannot be ignored. Local users considering Panda House should be aware of these deeply conflicting experiences and may want to exercise caution or seek more recent and consistent reviews before deciding to dine or order from this establishment. The significant health risk implied by one of the reviews warrants serious consideration.

For those in the Johnson City, TN area looking for a Chinese restaurant, Panda House is located on West State of Franklin Road. One reviewer suggests it's a "hole in the wall" with amazing food and staff at very affordable prices, making it a potential favorite. However, another recent experience indicates a severe food safety issue, with the customer reporting illness after eating the food. Given this extreme contradiction, potential customers should proceed with caution and perhaps look for more consistent and recent feedback before making a decision. If you wish to inquire about their menu or any potential promotions, you can contact Panda House directly at (423) 975-0075 or +1 423-975-0075.

Our new favorite place to eat in Johnson City! A hole in the wall establishment with amazing staff and superb food at half the price of their competition. How haven't we found them sooner? Ordered to-go and will be ordering from them again!

I had the egg foo young with fried rice. I knew something was wrong. It smelled spoiled. It tasted like chemicals were in it. I started feeling sick. My sister ordered rib tips and pork fried rice. Started throwing up and the runs. Will not go back ever

Some of the best Chinese food we've had in years. The prices are great as are the serving sizes. So far my fiance and I have had the Crab Rangoon, Dumplings, BBQ boneless spare ribs, fried rices of chicken, pork and beef, the chicken on a stick and pork roll. All have been divine! We love eating here and can't wait to make our way through the whole menu!

Easy ordering. The FOH lady was lovely and nice. We even spoke some Mandarin back-and-forth! She was very patient and kind. The lo mein was top notch with quite the portion. I also ordered the sesame chicken, which I'll say was very sauced and breaded yet dry..stringy. The orange chx may have been a better alternative. I don't know until I try, right? All in all, you're supporting good people in a small business, so one shouldn't complain. I will be back and give the other options a-go! PS this place needs their own Yum-Yum sauce!
