About Panda Garden

Panda Garden is a Chinese restaurant situated at 1189 S George St in Charles Town, West Virginia. Operating within the Chinese Restaurant category, Panda Garden offers a range of Chinese cuisine options, primarily for take-out. Customers can place orders or make inquiries by calling (304) 725-8888 or using the mobile number +1 304-725-8888. Recent online customer reviews provide insights into the dining experience at Panda Garden, highlighting both service procedures and food quality.

One customer shared a particularly negative first-time experience with Panda Garden. This review detailed several points of dissatisfaction. Firstly, upon placing their phone order, they were instructed to pay in cash. While the reviewer understood that some establishments prefer cash payments, they raised the valid point of what would happen if a customer did not have cash readily available. Secondly, they were initially given a take-out order preparation time of 25-30 minutes. However, they received three phone calls within just 15 minutes, urging them to come and collect their food. This was described as "bizarre" by the reviewer, suggesting an unusual and perhaps rushed process.

The pricing was another significant concern for this customer. They reported paying $24.00 for a single order consisting of crab Rangoon and General Tso's chicken, which they considered "very pricey for take out." This feedback indicates that the perceived value for money was low for this particular customer. Most importantly, the reviewer expressed disappointment with the quality of the food itself. They described the chicken as "fatty," the fried rice as "flavorless," and the sauce as "unflavored." This negative culinary experience reportedly "dampened" their evening and left them with "major regret" for spending their money at Panda Garden.

The reviewer also considered whether their late ordering time might have contributed to the negative experience. They placed their call at 8:50 PM, and a Google search indicated the restaurant's closing time as 10:00 PM. The reviewer felt that an hour or more before closing should generally be an acceptable time to place an order, especially on a weekend night. This suggests that the customer did not believe their order was placed too close to closing to warrant such a disappointing outcome.

Another customer echoed similar sentiments regarding the food, describing it as "bland and overpriced." This aligns with the previous review's assessment of the food lacking flavor and being expensive for the quality received. This reviewer also expressed a sense that "passion seems to have gone out of the place" and hoped that the restaurant could regain it, as they found the location to be "super convenient" and would have liked to make Panda Garden their regular Chinese dining spot.

The provided reviews offer no information about the environment or ambiance of Panda Garden. Both reviewers detailed take-out experiences, with one picking up their order and the other presumably doing the same. Therefore, it is not possible to provide an objective description of the restaurant's interior setting or atmosphere based on the available feedback.

In terms of services, Panda Garden primarily offers take-out. One reviewer's experience highlighted a specific policy regarding cash payment for phone orders. The rapid follow-up calls to collect the order suggest a potentially quick turnaround time once the food is prepared, although the reviewer found the frequency and speed unusual. The primary service appears to be focused on order preparation and pick-up.

The features of Panda Garden, as perceived through these reviews, include a take-out service with relatively quick preparation (though the communication around pick-up was criticized). However, significant negative features include the reported high prices for the take-out items and the disappointing quality of the food, characterized as fatty, flavorless, and bland. The cash-only payment request for phone orders might also be considered a notable feature of their service policy.

Currently, there is no information available regarding any specific promotional offers, discounts, or featured menu items at Panda Garden. The recent reviews focus solely on the negative aspects of food quality, pricing, and unusual service procedures. Therefore, no objective introduction to any ongoing specials or promotions can be provided based on the given information.

In conclusion, recent customer feedback for Panda Garden in Charles Town, WV, raises significant concerns regarding the quality and flavor of their food, as well as the pricing, which some customers have found to be high for take-out. Additionally, unusual service procedures, such as the rapid follow-up calls for order pick-up and the reported cash-only payment request, have been noted. While the restaurant benefits from a convenient location for some, potential customers may want to consider these recent negative experiences when deciding whether to order from Panda Garden.

Not good, very disappointing. Stopped in for my first time tonight, 1. Told on the phone to pay cash, I get it, but maybe I didn’t have cash? 2. Tells me take out is 25-30, they call me 15 minutes later 3 times to let me know to come get my food, bizarre 3. $24.00 for one order of crab Rangoon and General Tso’s, very pricey for take out 4. Disappointing food, fatty chicken, flavorless fried rice, unflavored sauce. Honestly dampened my evening and left with me major regret for wasting my money. I considered if this was my fault, maybe I ordered too close to close? I called in at 8:50 but Google lists theirs closing time at 10. An hour or more is usually my window of acceptable closing time etiquette, especially for a weekend night.

Food was bland and overpriced. Passion seems to have gone out of the place. Really hope they find it again. We'd love to make this our go-to Chinese place. It's in a super convenient location.

Portions were very small, barely any chicken in kung pao, heavy breaded with cornstarch, deep fried instead of traditional kung pao. And chicken and vegetables were deep fried and oil laden, made my wife sick. Look at that puddle of oil, yuck!

Don't be deceived by the photos. Vegetables are not fresh. The meat tastes weird. I don't think they focus on fresh condiments, and they are overpriced for small portions.

I repeatedly told the young woman that answered the phone that I wanted egg rolls. Then I paid $3 for jumbo shrimp to be added to my meal. When I received my food I literally had 3 average sized shrimp that I paid I guess $1 each for. Then I look for my egg rolls and they were spring rolls. THEN THERE WAS A PIECE OF STEEL WOOL IN MY MEAL. I didn’t notice until I started chewing on it. I told my whole family to stop eating. Money wasted!
