As a Chinese buffet in the Dayton area, Panda Garden Buffet offers an all-you-can-eat dining experience featuring a variety of Chinese dishes for the local community.
Customer reviews for Panda Garden Buffet present a range of experiences, suggesting that the restaurant may have undergone some changes in its offerings and quality. One very brief review simply states, "They have definitely up'd their game," indicating a positive improvement in some aspect of the restaurant, although the specifics are not mentioned.
Another reviewer elaborates on this positive trend, noting that while their past experiences might have been just "OK," on a recent visit, "everything was exceptional." This customer specifically praised the food for being "hot, crisp and flavorful." Furthermore, they commented on the cleanliness of the dining room and men's restroom, and they found the service to be "prompt and responsive" along with being polite. This detailed positive feedback suggests that Panda Garden Buffet may have made significant strides in improving the overall dining experience.
Adding to the positive atmosphere, another reviewer described a "pleasant atmosphere" and complimented the cashier as a "friendly conversationalist" who was easy to speak with in English. This highlights a potentially welcoming and comfortable environment for local customers, where communication is easy and pleasant.
In contrast to these positive remarks, another customer had a significantly negative experience, describing their visit as "Pathetic." This reviewer, a "huge fan of Hot and Sour soup," was disappointed with Panda Garden Buffet's version, stating that it looked okay but tasted nothing like any Hot and Sour soup they had ever had before. They also tried three items from the buffet β two chicken and one beef β and found the beef to be only "maybe medium warm" with vegetables that appeared to have been sitting out for a while. The chicken items were reportedly "barely above room temperature." This led the reviewer to express concern about food safety, stating that it seemed like "a good place to get sick." They were so concerned that they chose not to eat, paid for their meal, and left, also raising a question about the frequency of restaurant health inspections in the Dayton and Rhea County area.
Considering these varied reviews, it appears that Panda Garden Buffet might offer an inconsistent dining experience. While some customers have noted recent and significant improvements in food quality, cleanliness, and service, others have had serious concerns about food temperature and taste, raising potential food safety issues. The positive comments about the atmosphere and friendly staff suggest that the restaurant might strive to create a pleasant environment for its patrons.
As a Chinese buffet, Panda Garden Buffet likely offers a wide selection of dishes, allowing customers to sample various items. Buffets typically include a range of appetizers, main courses featuring meat, poultry, seafood, and vegetables, as well as rice, noodles, and desserts. The negative reviewer's experience with the Hot and Sour soup and the temperature of the other buffet items indicates that the quality and freshness of the food on the buffet line can be inconsistent.
The positive reviewer's mention of "hot, crisp and flavorful" food suggests that when the buffet is well-maintained, the food can be of good quality. The improvements noted by one reviewer imply that the restaurant may be actively working to enhance its standards.
Regarding the environment, one reviewer described it as having a "pleasant atmosphere" and another noted a "clean dining room." This suggests that Panda Garden Buffet may provide a reasonably comfortable and clean space for diners. The friendly cashier also contributes to a positive impression of the service and environment.
The services offered by Panda Garden Buffet likely include dine-in, given its buffet format. It is not explicitly mentioned whether they offer takeout or delivery services. Local users interested in these options would need to contact the restaurant directly to inquire about their availability.
There is no promotional information mentioned in the provided reviews. Local customers looking for deals or special offers at Panda Garden Buffet might want to check with the restaurant directly or look for any online advertisements or social media presence they might have.
For local users in Dayton considering Panda Garden Buffet, it is advisable to take into account the contrasting recent experiences. The positive reviews suggest that the restaurant has the potential to offer a good dining experience with improved food quality and a pleasant atmosphere. However, the serious concerns raised by another reviewer regarding food temperature and the taste of certain dishes should not be ignored. Potential customers might want to consider visiting during peak hours when the buffet is likely to be fresher and more frequently replenished. It might also be prudent to observe the buffet and other diners' food before making a large selection.
In conclusion, Panda Garden Buffet in Dayton, TN, is a Chinese buffet that has received mixed recent reviews. While some customers have noted significant improvements in food quality, cleanliness, and service, others have reported issues with food temperature and taste. The restaurant appears to offer a pleasant atmosphere and friendly staff. Local users should weigh these contrasting experiences when deciding whether to dine at Panda Garden Buffet and might consider further investigation or a cautious initial visit to assess the current quality for themselves.

Customer Reviews
They have definitely up'd their game. OK in the past, yet today, everything was exceptional... Food was hot, crisp and flavorful. Clean dining room and men's restroom. Service was prompt and responsive tethered with politeness. Pleasant atmosphere and friendly conversationalist cashier. Nice to speak in English and easily carry on a conversation. πππππππ On a 1-5 rate!!!
Pathetic. That's what came into my mind. I'm a huge fan of Hot and Sour soup. Their version looked ok, but tasted nothing like H&S I've ever had. I tried 3 items on the Buffett, 2 chicken and one beef. The beef was maybe medium warm and from the looks of the veggies, had been there a while. The chicken items were barely above room temperature. This is a good place to get sick. I was afraid to even eat. I just paid and left. Does Dayton or Rhea Co. even conduct restaurant health inspections?
Watch your money here, the lady at the front is pocketing money. A friend went here and got 2 separate pints of soup. The total was something like $5. I have gotten soup here before and that is what I have paid before. Last Friday, a day after my friend had went in, I went in and got one of the quart containers of soup. Menu price is $3.45. I gave the lady a $20 bill, that was the only money I walked in with. From the $1 bills on top of the change she gave me back, I put $2 in the tip. As I walked out to my car, I looked closer at my change, I didnt have a $10 dollar bill. She only gave me five $1 bills, and I put two of them in the tip jar. I then also realized she didn't staple a receipt to my bag, she had just hit a button that opened the register. I considered going back in, but I had to get back to my special needs child before his CNA had to leave. I decided not to go back, but wanted to warn others. If the $10 was worth losing a customer, then they can have it. I will go to Peking house or other places in the future.
I donβt think Iβve ever given a bad review on here, I usually just post positive reviews or none at all but this place is just horrible. The food was all cold, the place was almost empty but still no service at all. Itβs silent, no background music, felt like I stepped into a 1970 time warp. Not welcoming or nice at all.
To be totally fair it was very not busy when I went. Most of the food was cold on the buffet. The woman seemed to be either having a bad day or just a hard woman cause we were being yelled at when we came in...it was very quiet in there at this point and would remain so. The place looks like a hold out from the 70s or 80s inside and out. The selection of items on the buffet was very boring and middle of the road at best, though again I feel if it were warmer than the same temp of my drink it may have been better. Worst of all was the outrageous bill for cold mediocre food at best. Love Chinese and Japanese food a lot this will NOT be a place I return to though sadly.
