Customer reviews can offer valuable insights into the current state of a particular restaurant location. The feedback for the Panda Express on W University Dr in Denton presents a mixed picture, with both positive and negative experiences reported by recent diners. Understanding these varying perspectives can help local users form a more comprehensive idea of what to expect.

One customer shared a significantly negative experience, detailing issues with their recent meal. According to this review, the portion sizes were noticeably smaller than expected, and the food was described as very dry with a lack of sauce. Furthermore, the taste was deemed "not good," and a particularly concerning point was that the chicken appeared to be undercooked, with a picture provided as evidence. This reviewer expressed sadness, as they typically enjoy Panda Express, suggesting that this negative experience was an anomaly for them.

In contrast, another customer reported a highly positive experience at the same Denton location. This reviewer specifically praised the availability of vegan orange chicken, which they appreciated. They also noted that the employees consistently filled the food compartments generously, which they "loved." While they acknowledged that the lines could be long, they attributed this to the restaurant's popularity and the care they observed in the preparation of the food. This customer also described the staff as "always so sweet" during their visits and stated their intention to return.

These two recent reviews offer contrasting views on the Panda Express at this Denton location. One highlights concerns about food quality, portion size, sauce content, taste, and even food safety (undercooked chicken). The other praises the availability of a specific dietary option, generous portioning, and positive staff interactions, despite the potential for long wait times.

Considering the typical environment of a Panda Express restaurant, it is generally designed for efficiency and speed. The ambiance is usually casual and functional, catering to customers looking for a quick meal. You can typically expect a brightly lit space with tables for dining in, though takeout service is also a significant part of their operation. Given the positive review mentioning long lines, it suggests that this location can be quite busy, which might indicate popularity or perhaps occasional staffing or service bottlenecks. The negative review did not comment on the environment, so no further conclusions can be drawn from the provided information.

In terms of services, Panda Express primarily offers counter service where customers choose from a selection of pre-prepared dishes displayed on a steam table. Customers can typically select a base (such as rice or noodles), an entree (like orange chicken or broccoli beef), and sometimes an appetizer or side. Both dine-in and takeout options are usually available. The positive review implies efficient service despite the potential for long lines, as the customer intends to return. The negative review focused on the food itself rather than the service interaction, though the issues described could indirectly point to inconsistencies in food preparation and quality control.

Panda Express is known for its American Chinese cuisine, featuring dishes that are often adapted to Western tastes. Their menu typically includes popular items like orange chicken, Kung Pao chicken, sweet fire chicken breast, Beijing beef, and various chow mein and fried rice options. The positive review specifically mentioned the availability of vegan orange chicken, indicating that this location caters to customers with plant-based dietary preferences, which is a notable feature. The negative review mentioned "happy family," which is not a standard Panda Express menu item, suggesting either a local variation or a misunderstanding of the dish name. The core features of Panda Express generally revolve around providing a quick and convenient way to enjoy familiar Chinese-American flavors.

We had a really bad experience here today. Portion sizes are significantly smaller. There is next to NO sauce. Very dry. Taste not good. Chicken was undercooked (see pic). Really sad because we usually like Panda. 😢

I love this location. They always have the vegan orange chicken and it’s so nice. The employees always make sure to stuff the little compartments full which I LOVE. The lines are long but it makes sense when everyone likes it and they put a lot of care into everything. The staff is always so sweet when I go. I will 100% be returning.

Paid online, went to pick up, was told that they were out of the Beyond orange chicken I had ordered. I drove thirty minutes to pick up my order and nobody called me to tell me about the issue with my order, which would have saved me the trip. This is food service 101. When I asked for a refund, I was told there was nobody on shift that could do a refund for me and that I would have to wait until the manager came in the next day. The shift leader told me to call ahead next time to confirm that what I ordered is in stock, which is bad business for the customer. The customer should be able to trust the online menu which should be updated by the shift leader regularly. The shift leader also told me husband that the manager would call me the next day. The manager did not call me, I had to call the store several times to reach her. When I shared my poor experience with her, she curtly said “I already refunded it yesterday,” and took no accountability for her poorly trained staff. Nobody called me to tell me the refund was complete. I received no apology from her and she blamed the online system for my order being messed up. I am a former manager in food service and am extremely disappointed in this manager. I feel that this location is mismanaged. I feel that my time and money has been disrepected. A customer is entitled to a cash refund on the spot should they not receive their order and shift leaders should be trained in refunds. There should always be someone on shift that can refund and defuse a frustrated customer, especially on a busy Friday evening. I will not be purchasing from this location unless I receive an actual apology from the manager.

Consider this a PSA if you're thinking about ordering ahead: don't. Absolutely ridiculous wait times and, even if your food is ready, they'll be sure to serve walk-ins before you. If Daisy is working, good luck getting your food before the restaurant closes because she has no sense of urgency. All in all, never order ahead here and just do a walk-in order if you're looking to save time.

We went on a road trip and stopped to eat here. We got orange chicken, which tasted good, but you could tell it was old. It was soft, not crispy. We got the Chile Crisp shrimp, and we had to wait for it, so it was fresh and delicious. We also ordered the walnut shrimp. It was old as well but tasted good. We ordered the black pepper chicken and teriyaki chicken, and both were delicious. We got fried rice, which was good, the chow mein was bomb. We got our little one a kids meal with chicken and noodles. We got the applie pie roll rollups for desert, those was bomb too. The restaurant was clean as well as the restrooms. The staff was friendly but did not smile, we was thanked for our order, the wait was less than 10 minutes. The crew looked short staffed and maybe frustrated. They all did well, and we appreciate them for making us our food.
