About Panda Express

Welcome to Panda Express, a well-known Chinese fast-food restaurant located at 1386 Washington Boulevard, Fort Eustis, Virginia. Situated on a military base, this location provides a convenient option for service members and others seeking quick-service Chinese cuisine. As part of a large national chain of Chinese restaurants, Panda Express offers a familiar menu of popular dishes designed for fast preparation and service, catering primarily to those looking for a quick and convenient meal, whether for takeout or to eat in the restaurant's casual dining area.

As a Chinese restaurant in the fast-food category, Panda Express is known for its steam-table service, where a variety of entrees are displayed and customers can choose one, two, or three-entree plates, often accompanied by rice or noodles and an appetizer. The menu typically includes popular items such as Orange Chicken, Kung Pao Chicken, Broccoli Beef, Chow Mein, and fried rice. Panda Express aims to provide a consistent and recognizable taste across its various locations, offering a standardized menu that appeals to a broad audience looking for familiar Chinese-American flavors in a fast-casual setting.

Based on recent customer feedback specific to the Panda Express at Fort Eustis, there appear to be significant concerns regarding the portion sizes relative to the prices charged. One particularly dissatisfied customer expressed frustration over what they perceived as increasingly smaller food portions with each visit, while still facing what they considered to be high prices. This reviewer recounted an experience where a three-entree meal appeared to be closer to a two-entree serving, despite the near $14 cost. They described the server as meticulously picking up only one or two pieces of chicken, which they felt was insufficient for a three-entree order. The customer also mentioned their reluctance to confront the staff due to the location being on a military base, leading to them leaving with "utmost dissatisfaction." A strong accusation was made regarding the restaurant taking advantage of service members' money by not providing the expected amount of food. This negative experience culminated in a vow to never return to this specific location, with a final complaint about the chicken tasting like plastic upon arriving home.

Another review echoed the sentiment about small servings, stating that this particular Panda Express gives the "smallest servings of any panda I’ve gone to." This suggests that the portion sizes at this Fort Eustis location might be notably smaller compared to other branches of the same chain. The reviewer noted that the staff adheres strictly to serving guidelines, which they understood but found unusual. Despite the restaurant consistently having long lines and a high volume of customers, which might suggest an ability to be more generous with portions, the staff reportedly follows the manual precisely, even down to the exact number of shrimp served (e.g., seven shrimp if the manual specifies seven). This customer ultimately recommended visiting a different Panda Express location where employees might be more considerate of their customers.

Our services at this Panda Express location primarily focus on quick and efficient counter service for both dine-in and takeout customers. The consistently long lines mentioned in one review indicate its popularity and high traffic, likely due to its convenient location on the military base. Customers can expect to order their meals at the counter and receive their food quickly, typically in disposable containers for easy takeout or to be eaten in the restaurant's casual dining area. While the focus is on speed and convenience, the reviews raise concerns about the value received in terms of portion sizes. It is important for potential customers to be aware of these reported issues regarding serving sizes when choosing to dine at this particular Panda Express location.

The features of this Panda Express include its convenient location on Fort Eustis military base, making it easily accessible to service members and base personnel. It offers the standard Panda Express menu with a variety of popular Chinese-American dishes prepared for quick service. The high volume of customers and consistently long lines suggest its popularity within the base community, despite the concerns raised about portion sizes. However, the strict adherence to serving guidelines, as mentioned in one review, appears to be a defining characteristic of this specific location, potentially leading to smaller portions compared to other branches. The negative feedback regarding food quality (chicken tasting like plastic) in one instance is also a point to note.

Currently, the provided information does not include any specific details about ongoing promotions or special offers at this Panda Express location. However, Panda Express as a national chain often has various promotions, such as family meal deals, seasonal specials, or online ordering discounts. It would be advisable for potential customers to check the official Panda Express website or inquire at the store directly about any current promotions that might be available at the Fort Eustis location. These promotions could potentially offer better value or specific deals that might address some of the concerns about pricing and portion sizes.

In conclusion, the Panda Express located at 1386 Washington Boulevard, Fort Eustis, VA, is a busy Chinese fast-food restaurant on a military base, offering the standard Panda Express menu for quick service and both dine-in and takeout options. While it appears to be a popular choice with a high volume of customers, recent reviews have raised significant concerns regarding the small portion sizes relative to the prices charged, with one reviewer describing the servings as the smallest they have encountered at any Panda Express. The strict adherence to serving guidelines by the staff has also been noted. Additionally, one customer reported a negative experience with the food quality. Potential customers should be aware of these reported issues when considering dining at this specific location. It is recommended to check for any ongoing promotions that might offer better value. For the most accurate information on the menu, hours, and any current specials, please contact the store directly.

This place pisses me off! The food portions get smaller every time I visit and yet paying too much! I asked for the 3 entree meal and got pretty much a two entree meal paying nearly $14. The server sits there and picks up one to two pieces of damn chicken like it’s going to fill the damn plate for the 3 entree that I asked for. I would confront these people but it’s a military base and so I maintain my composure and just leave with the utmost dissatisfaction. They love to take the Soldiers money and won’t give you what you paid for. Never going to this horrible place again. Chicken taste like plastic too when I got home!

Panda gives the smallest servings of any panda I’ve gone to. They go very by the book, which I understand, but it’s unusual. They always have a long line and tons of customers, you’d think they could give decent portions, but if the manual says 7 shrimp, they give exactly 7 shrimp. I recommend going to a different panda with employees who care about their customers.

Food is not bad but what they put in the box makes no sense for the price I recommend going somewhere else

During my recent visit to your establishment, I purchased four plates of rice and spaghetti. Unfortunately, an employee named Tiffanie made several unprofessional remarks during the transaction. She referred to the spaghetti as "noodles" in a condescending manner and laughed loudly. Additionally, while serving the food, she displayed a lack of care and attention, which raised concerns about the potential for contamination. While I understand that I may not be familiar with all of your menu items, it is essential for your staff to maintain a polite and professional demeanor when interacting with customers. Thanks
