About Panda Express

Welcome to Panda Express, a familiar name in the Chinese Restaurant category, situated at 4900 S Cooper St in Arlington, Texas (TX 76017, USA). This particular location aims to serve the local community with a variety of popular American-Chinese dishes. Based on recent customer feedback available online, this introduction provides an objective overview of what potential diners can expect from this establishment, highlighting both positive aspects and areas of concern.

One positive aspect noted by a customer is the consistent availability of the String Bean Chicken, a dish that was reportedly difficult to find in stock at some locations during the COVID-19 pandemic. The reviewer expressed satisfaction that this favorite item is now reliably available at this Arlington location. Furthermore, this customer praised the restaurant for serving dishes that were "full and hot," indicating attention to portion size and food temperature, which are important factors for a satisfying fast-casual dining experience. They also shared a cost-saving tip: ordering a 3-entree extra plate and splitting it can be more economical than purchasing individual bowls or kid's plates, especially for sharing among two adults. This suggests that Panda Express offers options that can be budget-friendly for certain dining arrangements. The reviewer also mentioned trying the Pepper Chicken for the first time and found it to be "so good," expanding on the positive feedback regarding the quality and taste of their offerings. The fact that this customer considers a visit to a "good Panda" a treat due to living in an area with a "Panda void" underscores the value they place on a positive experience at this chain.

However, another review raises a significant concern regarding food safety and hygiene practices. This customer reported observing a staff member handling their cup with their hand inside it, which they found "disgusting." Additionally, they mentioned witnessing employees touching their clothes, faces, and scratching their arms, as well as cleaning counters, and then subsequently touching food without changing gloves. This observation led the reviewer to conclude that the food handling practices were "nasty" and emphasized the need for staff to wear gloves. While they acknowledged that the "food was good as usual," this serious hygiene concern overshadowed the positive aspects of the food quality. This feedback is critical for potential customers who prioritize food safety and hygiene when choosing a place to eat.

The reviews provide limited information about the environment of this Panda Express location. One can generally expect a standard fast-casual setting, typically clean and functional, designed for efficient service and quick dining. However, specific details about the ambiance, seating arrangements, or overall cleanliness beyond the food handling observations are not mentioned.

In terms of services, Panda Express primarily offers counter service for both dine-in and takeout orders. The positive review highlighting the efficiency of splitting a larger plate suggests that they are accommodating to different ordering preferences. The negative review, however, implies that while the food might be prepared according to standard recipes, the handling of food and beverages might not always adhere to strict hygiene protocols. Customers can likely place their orders at the counter and either eat in the dining area or take their food to go. It is also common for Panda Express locations to offer online ordering and pickup options, although this is not specifically mentioned in the provided feedback for this particular store.

Features of Panda Express generally include a standardized menu with popular items like Orange Chicken, Beijing Beef, and various rice and noodle dishes. The availability of the String Bean Chicken, as noted by one reviewer, is a positive feature for fans of that particular dish. The option to customize plates with different combinations of entrees and sides is also a standard feature of the chain. The cost-saving strategy of splitting a larger plate, while not a specific feature promoted by the restaurant, is a practical tip shared by a customer that could be beneficial for others.

Regarding promotional information, the provided reviews do not mention any specific deals or specials currently offered at this Arlington location. Panda Express as a chain often has limited-time offers and seasonal menu items, which may vary. Local users interested in promotions should check the in-store menu boards, the official Panda Express website or app, or inquire directly with the restaurant staff.

In conclusion, the Panda Express at 4900 S Cooper St in Arlington, TX, receives mixed feedback in these recent reviews. On one hand, customers appreciate the consistent availability of certain menu items, the hot and full portions, and the good taste of the food, with a potential cost-saving strategy for larger orders. On the other hand, a significant concern has been raised regarding food handling practices and hygiene, which could be a major deterrent for some potential customers. While the food quality itself seems to meet expectations, the reported lapses in hygiene are serious and should be taken into consideration. Local users might want to weigh these factors when deciding whether to dine at this location. It may be prudent to observe the food handling practices if visiting in person or to consider other options if hygiene is a primary concern.

You know, during CoVID, they couldn't keep the string bean chicken in stock. Well, it's there every time. Dishes were full and hot. We have discovered if we order the 3 entree extra plate and split it, it's cheaper than a bowl or a kid plate. First time to have the pepper chicken. It was so good. Hubs had the fried rice and Beijing Beef. We live where there is a Panda void, so to be in town and find a GOOD Panda is such a treat!

I thought when you’re in the food industry, you wear gloves. The girl handed me my cup with her hand inside of the cup. Disgusting! Food was good as usual but watching them touch their clothes, their faces, scratching their arms, cleaning the counters then touching food is just nasty. Put some gloves on.

Food was ice cold, trash was over flowing. The crew just really didn’t give 2 Fs. The noodles were barely warm. The orange chicken was freshly put out and was cold when I sat down to eat….? Multiple items they were out of and did not plan on making more. When we arrived there was 1 customer waiting for the orange chicken to be prepared.

Rice was burnt on the bottom and when we asked for the chef special, it was clear the cook just didn’t want to make it since they closed in 45 minutes. The other staff was friendly but the cook appeared lazy. Tables needed a good cleaning and prep area as well.
