Customer reviews offer a glimpse into the Panda Express experience at this specific location. One reviewer shared a highly positive encounter, stating that the "little place was really good," emphasizing that all the food was "steaming hot and really delicious." They specifically praised the lo mein and the popular orange chicken, noting its quality for fast food. Furthermore, this customer highlighted the restaurant's cleanliness and the "fast and friendly" service, expressing their intention to return.

Conversely, another customer reported a significantly negative experience concerning the quality of the food. They ordered a family meal around 2 pm and noticed that the rice "smelled and tasted different." This concern was corroborated by their husband and son who ate the rice later, noting a sour and old taste. The reviewer explicitly stated their suspicion that the restaurant was "selling old spoiled rice" and mentioned this was not an isolated incident. While they found the chicken to be satisfactory, the fried rice was deemed unacceptable. This review raises serious concerns about food freshness, particularly regarding the rice, and suggests potential inconsistencies in food quality control.

Considering these contrasting reviews, the Panda Express at Scott AFB appears to have the potential to provide a positive fast-food experience, with one customer highlighting hot, delicious food, cleanliness, and efficient service. The praise for the orange chicken and lo mein aligns with these being popular and frequently ordered items at Panda Express locations generally. However, the serious allegations regarding the freshness and quality of the rice from another customer cannot be ignored. The description of the rice as smelling and tasting "old and sour" is a significant concern for food safety and overall dining satisfaction. The fact that this customer claims to have noticed similar issues with the rice previously further compounds this concern.

For local users considering Panda Express at this Scott AFB location, it is essential to be aware of these differing experiences. If you are looking for a quick and potentially satisfying meal, particularly if ordering popular items like orange chicken, the positive review suggests a possibility of a good experience. The mention of cleanliness and friendly service are also positive aspects. However, the reported issues with the rice quality are a significant red flag. The possibility of encountering old or spoiled rice, as described in the negative review, is a serious consideration for any potential customer.

Given the conflicting feedback, local users might want to exercise caution, especially when ordering rice dishes. If possible, inspecting the rice before consumption might be advisable. Alternatively, focusing on other menu items that have received positive feedback, such as the orange chicken, could be a strategy. It might also be prudent to inquire about the preparation time of the rice if ordering during off-peak hours, as suggested by the reviewer who received potentially old rice around 2 pm.

As a Chinese fast-food restaurant, Panda Express typically offers a variety of dishes, including their signature orange chicken, Kung Pao chicken, broccoli beef, and a selection of chow mein, fried rice, and steamed rice. They usually provide options for individual meals, bowls, and family feasts, catering to different group sizes and appetites. While the provided information does not include specific promotional details for this Scott AFB location, Panda Express often has national or regional promotions, such as limited-time offers or discounts on family meals. Local users can check the Panda Express website or app for any current promotions or inquire directly at the store.

In conclusion, the Panda Express at 207 W Winters St, Scott AFB, IL, presents a mixed picture based on the available customer reviews. While one customer experienced hot, delicious food and good service, another reported a significant issue with the freshness and taste of the rice, even claiming it to be a recurring problem. Local users should consider these contrasting experiences when deciding to dine at or order from this location. It might be wise to exercise caution regarding rice dishes and potentially inquire about food preparation times to ensure freshness. As with any restaurant, individual experiences can vary, and it may be beneficial to try it firsthand while being mindful of the reported issues.

I ordered the family meal about 2pm. When I started eating it, the rice smelled and tasted different. I thought it was me until my husband came home and ate around 6. He asked when did I get it and I said a couple hrs ago. He also noticed the taste as well as our son. Not sure how old the rice was but it smelled and tasted old and sour. So they selling old spoiled rice. The chicken was good but the fries rice definitely wasn't. This wasn't the first time I noticed the rice like this. So just be aware of the rice issue. I know they use old rice anyways but how old is it really for it to taste bad at 2pm?

Good choice for a quick lunch, but skimped on portion sizes. Friendly staff otherwise, just would like to see some more food on my plate!

My daughter and I have always liked Panda Express. We always get the Orange chicken. We went this evening and got the Orange chicken. It was so spicy we could not eat it. Even my husband said it tasted different than it usually does. I mentioned it to the workers. They didn't seem to care. Very disappointed. Wish I would have asked for my money back. Now I will probably never eat there again.

Went there at 5:15pm. They were pretty much out of everything and when asked if they were putting anything more out, I was told “no, because they were closing soon”. If you want to close at 5:15pm that’s fine but change your posted hours. Pretty lame to be out of everything right at the dinner rush with no intent to do anything about it.
