About Panda Express

Welcome to Panda Express, a Chinese restaurant located at 309 W Slaughter Ln in Austin, Texas. As a well-known establishment in the Chinese Restaurant category, Panda Express offers a variety of American Chinese dishes for local users seeking quick and convenient meals.

Based on recent customer feedback, experiences at this particular Panda Express location can be inconsistent. One customer initially reported issues with overcooked vegetables and unexpected spiciness in a dish that usually isn't spicy. However, a subsequent visit showed significant improvement in food quality, with vegetables being properly steamed and crisp. This suggests that food quality might vary.

Another experience from early 2025 indicates potential issues with order accuracy and customer service, particularly near closing time. A customer received a spicy version of a non-spicy dish without being offered an alternative when a menu item was unavailable. This resulted in a portion of their meal being inedible. However, a later visit in January 2025 yielded a positive experience with fresh, well-portioned food and even complimentary condiment packets, with specific praise for a server named Rose M.

In contrast, a review from February 2025 details a significantly negative service encounter. A customer reported being ignored by multiple employees upon entering and then receiving smaller portions compared to other customers by one particular staff member. This customer also alleged discriminatory behavior and an unhelpful response when attempting to speak with a manager about the poor service. This suggests potential issues with customer service consistency and professionalism at this location.

While Panda Express is a familiar chain, these local reviews indicate that the experience at the 309 W Slaughter Ln branch in Austin can be variable in terms of both food quality and customer service. Customers might experience satisfactory meals and service on some occasions, while others have encountered issues with food preparation, order accuracy, and staff interactions. It may be prudent for local users to consider these recent experiences when deciding to visit this particular Panda Express location. You can contact them at (512) 280-7999 or +1 512-280-7999 for any specific inquiries.

Ordering was great. When I got home, usually the veggies are steamed, this time overcooked. Hardly any nutrition left. Usually sizzling shrimp they never spice it up. If it's supposed to then great, if not it was spicy. This is the first time they did poorly. It's Tuesday. I'll try to not come on Tuesdays. I wanted to go to Wendy's, but there was a line. So I decided to go here. Update: 06/11/23- Well, here I am Sunday and the food has improved greatly. Veggies steamed and crisp. Update: 01/03/2025: I know it's near closing time and I know the food's not going to be all that fresh and great. My issue was if they didn't have any more chicken and green beans they could ask me if I wanted something else. Instead I was met with spice! It's not supposed to be spicy. And I don't like spicy food so 3/4 of my food was good. The other quarter I couldn't eat it so I wasted my money. So I wouldn't come here late at night if you expect to get the correct order on your meal or anyone to ask you if you would like something else. Next time I would appreciate it if someone could ask me if I would like something else. I'm not going to get angry. I just want something that I like. Update: 01/25/25: Wow! This afternoon my meal was beautiful, portioned just right and fresh! I even got packets of different kinds. I never ask for them, but it was a pleasant surprise. Server Rose M. set me up good and the cook. Thanks, guys, I loved it! 😍

When I walked into the resort here was ONLY 1 other customer in line other than myself. I was ignored by ALL of the employees for nearly 10mins. When 1 mexican lady Liz decided to serve me. She purposely did NOT fill my plates as she did the other customers plates who had call in, online, or drive thru orders. When I called her out the ignorant witch decided to get an attitude with me & pretended NOT to speak English. When asked to speak with the manager I was told the person DOES NOT work on the weekends. I rarely eat at Panda Express because the service I receive is always piss poor. I spent $42.76 for pissy service. Panda Express #1644 order# 130360 2/23/25 1:17:29pm. I’ve included Liz’s picture so her leadership can at least help her to cut the crap & STOP the discriminatory practices she so happily implements

So I get our food we waited an hr for. And my son’s meal is completely missing his entree, my meal I ordered the 3 entrée. I’m pregnant and needed the beef and broccoli. I can’t make this up. I had two pieces of beef. I’m pretty upset about the price you pay for what you expect from places and people not caring enough to provide the service they are paid for. I called the store back to back with no answer over 7 times. Maybe they could have resolved their mistake and got a second chance. This is the last chance I’m giving this location as I’ve frequented panda in other states with my children. I’m Not sure what other people are seeing or tasting, for me and my children each time we tried this place it has been subpar, this is the 3rd chance. I’ll try to look into local places. I’m not sure if it’s the shifts or what. We have been for lunch, and now dinner and it’s the same.. do better
