About Panda Express
Located at 188 W County Center FC-7, Des Peres, MO 63131, USA, **Panda Express** operates as a fast-casual Chinese Restaurant within a food court setting. This particular location serves as a convenient option for shoppers and visitors at the County Center, offering its well-known American Chinese cuisine in a quick-service format. For inquiries, the restaurant can be reached at (314) 821-1860 or via mobile at +1 314-821-1860.
As a Chinese Restaurant within a chain, Panda Express is recognized for its menu of readily available, pre-cooked dishes displayed in a cafeteria-style line. Signature items often include **Orange Chicken**, which is highly popular, along with various other chicken, beef, and vegetable entrees like Beijing Beef, Broccoli Beef, Kung Pao Chicken, and Grilled Teriyaki Chicken. Customers typically choose a side, such as fried rice, chow mein, or steamed rice, and then select one or more entrees. The pricing model, as highlighted by one customer, can be quite affordable, with a "one main dish and one side bowl" coming in at "under ten bucks" without a drink. This value proposition makes it an attractive option for a quick and budget-friendly meal. When the food is well-prepared, it is described as "hot and tasted great," aligning with the expectations for this fast-casual brand.
The environment of this Panda Express location is that of a **food court**. This means it is typically part of a larger dining area shared by multiple establishments, providing a bustling atmosphere with communal seating. While the specific cleanliness of the general food court area isn't detailed, the immediate service counter and food presentation would be the responsibility of Panda Express. However, the nature of a food court also means that "you got plenty of options," as noted by a customer, allowing diners to choose from various cuisines if Panda Express isn't their preference or if their preferred items are unavailable. For customers who appreciate the fast-casual model, the convenience of a food court location is a significant advantage.
Service at this Panda Express location presents a stark contrast based on customer reviews. One positive review states, "The staff were friendly and seemed alright to me. They helped me and got me my food quickly. ... No complaints about this place!!" This indicates that, at its best, the service can be efficient and pleasant, aligning with the fast-casual expectation of quick turnaround. However, another review details a "worst experience I have ever experienced at any Panda Express," citing critical issues. The most severe complaint involves receiving **"half cooked" and "raw" Orange Chicken**, a major food safety concern. Furthermore, the customer reported being told there was "no manager on duty" when trying to address the issue, indicating a significant breakdown in oversight and customer resolution. This review suggests a serious inconsistency in food preparation and a lack of immediate managerial support, which can severely impact customer trust and satisfaction. The experience of waiting for food to be cooked, only to receive undercooked items, and seeing other customers served more quickly, points to operational inefficiencies and a failure to meet basic quality control standards on that particular occasion.
Features of Panda Express, as a nationwide chain, include its standardized menu, allowing for consistent offerings across locations (though execution can vary). The availability of customizable bowl, plate, and bigger plate options caters to different appetites. While not explicitly mentioned in these reviews, Panda Express generally offers online ordering for pickup, and potentially delivery through third-party services, providing convenience for customers. Their loyalty program, "Panda Rewards," allows for earning points on purchases. The overall concept of quick, accessible American Chinese food is its primary feature, aiming to provide a convenient meal solution for a broad audience.
Promotional information for Panda Express, generally, revolves around value and convenience. The pricing of their bowls and plates, often "under ten bucks" for a substantial meal, acts as a strong promotional point for budget-conscious diners. The chain frequently offers seasonal specials, new menu items, and occasional discounts or combo deals. Their presence in a food court also provides inherent visibility and accessibility, serving as a direct form of promotion to a captive audience. However, the negative experiences reported, particularly concerning food quality and lack of immediate managerial resolution, can severely undermine any positive promotional efforts and lead to significant customer dissatisfaction, as evidenced by the extreme negative rating ("-5 stars") wished by one reviewer. Therefore, while Panda Express typically leverages its brand recognition and value, the actual customer experience at this specific location may vary widely, making reliance on typical promotions less effective if core service and food safety standards are not consistently met.
In conclusion, Panda Express at 188 W County Center FC-7 in Des Peres, MO, offers a fast-casual Chinese Restaurant experience within a food court environment. While it can provide quick service, friendly staff, and affordable, hot food that tastes great, as highlighted by one customer, there are serious concerns raised by another about potentially undercooked food and a lack of managerial presence for complaint resolution. This suggests a significant variability in the dining experience. Potential customers should be aware of these mixed reviews; while some may find it a convenient and satisfactory option for a quick bite, others might encounter significant issues with food safety and customer service. As with any fast-casual food court establishment, the overall experience can be highly dependent on the specific day and operational efficiency during that visit.

I don’t have any complaints about this place. The staff were friendly and seemed alright to me. They helped me and got me my food quickly. It is Panda Express so if you don’t like that it might not be great but it is in a food court so you got plenty of options. The portion was great, I got the one main dish and one side bowl. It was under ten bucks (I didn’t get a drink though). It was hot and tasted great. No complaints about this place!!
This was the worst experience I have ever experienced at any Panda Express! We are okay with waiting on our food to be cooked but when we receive the food the orange chicken was half cooked😡🤢🤮. I had 5 kids with me so I placed there trays so that they can start eating it took a minute to do so. As I sat and began eating after a few bites I noticed the meat was raw🤮🤮. I asked to speak with a manager and was told they had none on duty 😡😡. I wish I could give -5 stars!! I will be uploading the pictures soon
The guy at the cashier did not put the plate in the plastic bag properly that the food were almost fall out when we sat the food court. He does seem like he’s not enjoying his work. Please have someone else. The lady who packing the food was nice.
This is very sad!! My son purchase food from Panda Express West County mall. I wanted the Chili crispy shrimp, but they didn't have it. I ordered Beef and Broccoli, with fried rice, and I got half done rice, big pieces of uncooked Broccoli with about 3 tiny pieces of meat which I'm assuming was the beef. I paid my money for some inedible food!
The food was oilier than expected. The chicken in the kung pao and mushroom dishes were tough. The portions are the same as other locations. Service is slow as they are understaffed. If you’re craving Panda Express, the lower food quality and service is not too noticeable.
