About Panda Express
Welcome to Panda Express, a well-known Chinese restaurant chain located at 300 Washington Ave SE Suite G46 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Situated within the University of Minnesota area, Panda Express provides a convenient option for those seeking familiar American Chinese fast food. As a prominent brand in the Chinese restaurant category, Panda Express is recognized for its quick service and a menu featuring popular dishes adapted to Western tastes.
Panda Express restaurants typically feature a fast-casual environment, designed for efficiency and quick service. Customers usually order at a counter and can see the various dishes available in a buffet-style display. The atmosphere is generally casual and bustling, catering to individuals looking for a quick meal on the go or a convenient place to eat. The location within the University area suggests a high volume of student and faculty traffic, emphasizing speed and accessibility.
The service model at Panda Express is characterized by its speed and efficiency. Customers can quickly select their desired dishes and have their meals assembled cafeteria-style. While the focus is on fast service, interactions with staff at the counter contribute to the overall customer experience. Based on the limited review information provided, one customer expressed dissatisfaction with the chow mein preparation, suggesting a potential issue with food quality standards or employee training in that instance. The same customer also referenced a perceived decrease in portion sizes recently, indicating a possible shift in the restaurant's value proposition.
Panda Express is famous for several signature dishes that have become staples of American Chinese fast food. While the provided reviews do not specifically praise any dishes, the chain is widely known for items such as Orange Chicken, Kung Pao Chicken, Broccoli Beef, and various noodle and rice dishes like chow mein and fried rice. These dishes are typically prepared in large batches and kept warm for quick serving. The menu often includes appetizers like spring rolls and cream cheese rangoon, as well as a selection of beverages.
The limited customer feedback available raises some concerns regarding food quality and portion sizes at this particular Minneapolis location. One review expressed strong dissatisfaction with the quality of the chow mein, stating that it did not meet basic expectations ("All I’m asking for is noodles with my cabbage"). This suggests a potential issue with the consistency or preparation of this particular dish. The same reviewer also claimed that portion sizes had decreased significantly in the past month, which could impact customer satisfaction and perceived value.
Another review echoed concerns about portion sizes, stating that the amount of chicken received was surprisingly small ("I only ate 2 pieces of the chicken before taking a photo. Not sure if they are portion controlled a lot but this is kinda crazy for portions"). This feedback, coupled with the negative comment about the chow mein, paints a picture of potential inconsistencies in food quality and portioning at this specific Panda Express outlet. It is important to note that these are individual experiences and may not reflect the overall quality and service consistently provided.
Given the limited and negative nature of the recent reviews, it is difficult to ascertain any current promotional information for this specific Panda Express location. Panda Express as a chain frequently offers various promotions, such as limited-time offers on new dishes, family meal deals, or discounts through their mobile app or online ordering platform. To obtain the most accurate and up-to-date information on any promotions available at the 300 Washington Ave SE location, it is advisable to contact the restaurant directly at (612) 625-2038 or +1 612-625-2038. Customers can also check the official Panda Express website or mobile app for national and potentially location-specific offers.
In conclusion, Panda Express in Minneapolis offers a convenient and familiar option for American Chinese fast food, particularly for those in the University of Minnesota area. However, recent customer feedback highlights potential concerns regarding food quality, specifically the preparation of chow mein, and perceived reductions in portion sizes. While Panda Express is a well-established chain known for its speed and popular dishes, it is recommended that potential customers consider the recent feedback and perhaps inquire about current quality standards and portion sizes when placing their orders. Checking for any ongoing promotions through official channels or by contacting the restaurant directly can also help ensure the best possible value. As with any fast-food establishment, experiences can vary, and it is always beneficial to have the most current information.

Customer Reviews
Unacceptable bro. Teach your employees to have some common sense. Does this chow mein look up to standards for you. All I’m asking for is noodles with my cabbage. You guys have done this too much and I’m sick of it, also why did your portions get so much smaller in the last month? Get replaced like the chick-fil-A
The food portions are…. I only ate 2 pieces of the chicken before taking a photo. Not sure if they are portion controlled a lot but this is kinda crazy for portions.
It's fast food, and tastes mid, like you'd expect. It's also one of the two places in Coffman that tastes acceptable, so it's crowded as well. Overall second best of a range of bad options to spend your UMN extortion dollars.
Deadass I watched a guy make ONE bowl and it took him 5 minutes to do one scoop of chicken. His name is Zach please fire him he is actually going at the pace of a sloth and it’s lunch time and there’s like 100 people waiting for their food. So unacceptable.
As you one can see, there is a lot going on here. Seen below is the chow mein, orange chicken, kung pao chicken, and Mongolian beef. The food is usually ok at this location, but it is often understaffed sadly.
