About Panda Express

Welcome to Panda Express, a well-known establishment in the Chinese Restaurant category, located at 2585 Wabash Ave in Springfield, Illinois, serving the 62704 area. As a popular chain of fast-casual restaurants, Panda Express offers a variety of American Chinese cuisine, including its signature dishes like Orange Chicken, Kung Pao Chicken, Chow Mein, and fried rice. The Springfield location can be contacted at (217) 726-9880 or their mobile number +1 217-726-9880 for inquiries about their menu and services.

Based on recent customer feedback, the Panda Express on Wabash Ave appears to have both positive and negative aspects to its operation. One reviewer highlighted the restaurant's "great location" and noted that the kitchen is "well staffed." This suggests that the establishment is likely easily accessible and equipped to handle a significant volume of orders. The same reviewer also described the service as "personable" and mentioned that they never felt rushed during their visit. Furthermore, they pointed out the high traffic at this location, which they believe contributes to a high turnover of food, thereby ensuring its freshness. This positive assessment suggests that under favorable circumstances, customers can expect efficient and friendly service along with freshly prepared food.

However, other customer experiences present a contrasting view. One reviewer expressed dissatisfaction with the portion sizes of the entrées, describing them as "very small." This could be a concern for customers looking for a more substantial meal. Additionally, this reviewer reported a significant food safety and hygiene issue, stating that they found "a long piece of blonde hair" in one of their plates. The fact that they later realized this was also visible in a photo they had taken underscores the seriousness of this complaint. Such an incident can understandably detract significantly from a customer's dining experience and raise concerns about food handling practices.

Another negative experience reported by a customer during a visit on December 23, 2021, involved issues with their beverage order and drive-thru service. Instead of the expected fountain drinks, they were given two warm bottles of soda. When they requested ice, the drive-thru attendant provided only one half-full cup of ice without a lid or straw for two drinks. While this reviewer acknowledged having had previous satisfactory experiences at this location, they concluded that the service on that particular day was significantly poor. This suggests potential inconsistencies in service quality, with some visits being smooth and others falling short of expectations.

Considering these reviews, the Panda Express on Wabash Ave in Springfield, IL, appears to be a location that benefits from high traffic, potentially leading to fresher food due to quicker turnover, and at times offers personable service from a well-staffed kitchen. However, there are also reported issues concerning portion sizes, food hygiene (as indicated by the discovery of hair in a dish), and inconsistencies in service quality, particularly within the drive-thru. These mixed reviews suggest that while some customers have positive experiences, others have encountered significant problems.

Regarding the environment of this Panda Express location, the reviews provide limited information. The mention of a "great location" likely refers to its accessibility and convenience within Springfield. The fact that it has a drive-thru indicates that it caters to customers who prefer to order and receive their food without leaving their vehicles, adding to the convenience factor. However, details about the interior ambiance, cleanliness, or seating arrangements for dine-in customers are not provided in these reviews.

In terms of services, Panda Express is primarily a fast-casual restaurant offering counter service for dine-in and takeout orders. The presence of a drive-thru at this location expands its service options, catering to customers seeking quick and convenient meal solutions. The mention of a "well staffed" kitchen suggests that they are equipped to handle a high volume of orders efficiently during busy periods. However, the reported issues with the drive-thru service on at least one occasion indicate that there may be room for improvement in this area.

As a chain restaurant, Panda Express typically features a standard menu with core items available across all locations. These include popular dishes like Orange Chicken, various stir-fried dishes with chicken, beef, and shrimp, along with sides such as Chow Mein, fried rice, and mixed vegetables. Customers can usually customize their meals by selecting a base, an entrée, and sometimes a side. However, the reviews provided do not highlight any unique features specific to this Springfield location beyond its potentially high food turnover due to traffic.

No promotional information, such as limited-time offers, discounts, or loyalty programs specific to the Panda Express on Wabash Ave in Springfield, IL, is mentioned in the provided reviews. Panda Express as a brand does frequently offer promotions that are typically advertised nationally or regionally. Local users interested in any potential deals or special offers at this specific location may want to check the restaurant's website, mobile app, or inquire directly when ordering.

In conclusion, the Panda Express at 2585 Wabash Ave in Springfield, IL, appears to be a busy location that may benefit from fresh food due to high turnover and generally has a well-staffed kitchen. While some customers have reported positive experiences with personable service, there are also notable concerns regarding portion sizes, food hygiene, and inconsistencies in service, particularly at the drive-thru. Local users considering this Panda Express should weigh these factors and perhaps consider the timing of their visit to potentially benefit from the high traffic and perceived food freshness. However, it would also be prudent to be mindful of the reported issues to ensure a satisfactory dining experience.

Great location. The kitchen is well staffed. Service is personable. Never feel rushed. Lots of traffic which keeps the turnover high and the food fresh.

The portions of entrée here are very small. There was a long piece of blonde hair in one of our plates (which I didn’t realize was actually in the photo as well ugh). On this visit 12.23.2021 I was given two warm bottles of pop instead of fountain drinks. When I asked for two cups of ice for our drinks the drive thru girl gave me one half full cup of ice with no lid or straw. I’ve ate here a few times without any issues but the service that day sucked.

I hadn’t been to a Panda Express in a long time. I came in at dinner time. There was tons of fresh food, they were refilling a lot of it as the drive-tru was packed. I was greeted by Dylan who was super polite and answered all of my questions. The food was really good with large portions and Dylan was awesome!

Grabbed a quick bite. Ordered the Kung Pao bowl with low mein. Not bad for precooked food.
