About Panda Express

Panda Express is a Chinese restaurant located at 6150 US-6, Portage, IN 46368, USA. They can be contacted at (219) 762-6662 or +1 219-762-6662.

According to recent customer feedback, the restaurant generally appears clean and well-organized, with an appealing food display. However, a significant concern raised by one reviewer is the perceived poor quality of customer service. This customer described the employees as seemingly grumpy, uncommunicative, and lacking in positive engagement, noting the absence of smiles or customary greetings like "thank you."

Another area of concern highlighted in the reviews is the food quality, portion sizes, and overall value. One customer found the spring rolls to be exceptionally small and tasteless. They also expressed dissatisfaction with the cost of their meal, which included orange chicken, two small spring rolls, and two small drinks, suggesting that a Chinese buffet might offer better value for the same price. This negative experience led to the reviewer stating they would not return.

In contrast, another customer had a positive interaction with one staff member, specifically praising a lady who was helpful, patient with a picky child, and offered samples. This reviewer also noted the fast service. However, they mentioned an imbalance in their sweet fire chicken dish, which contained a large amount of pineapple and only a few pieces of chicken.

In summary, while Panda Express in Portage may present a clean and organized environment with potentially fast service, some customers have reported issues with the customer service, food quality (including portion sizes and taste of certain items), and overall value for money. It appears that experiences can vary, with some staff members providing excellent service while the food offerings may have inconsistencies.

The place seems clean and organized, and the food display looks pretty good. The customer service is terrible. The employees seem grumpy, uncommunicative, and gloomy and nobody's smiling or says "thank you". The food quality, portions, and value need hep as well. The spring rolls were tiny and tasteless. Spent almost $20 for orange chicken, 2 spring rolls, and 2 small drinks. Could have go for Chinese buffet for that money. Not coming back.

Loved loved loved the lady helping us. I have a very picky 4 year old and she took the time to answer our questions and she let her try a couple things. Very fast service. Only thing was I ordered sweet fire chicken and it was mainly pineapple. Probably only 4 pieces of chicken in it.

The fact that this place is managed by teenagers should have been my first indication that this was going to be a bad experience. However, I was hungry so I gave it a try. I asked what a particular chicken taste like, and nobody could tell me. Their was not a description either. The employee told me she couldn't let me try it, but I could buy it instead. I got to the register and the girl was adding up a bunch of extra charges. I asked her to go over the charges and she said that she made a mistake. I saw how nervous she was acting, and that's why I looked at the price. If I hadn't been paying attention and just swiped my card like most people, she would have had some extra money for herself. I'm sure I was not the first person she attempted to cheat, and I won't be the last. PAY ATTENTION TO THE PRICE OR ELSE THIS LOCATION WILL HAVE A LITTLE SOMETHING FOR THEMSELVES AT CLOSE.

So I have just left Panda Express and it is the busiest I have ever seen it and despite being shorthanded.. Despite customers being rude .. Carson and Andrew and I apologize if I’m getting the names spelled wrong or wrong handled the situation amazingly. I have been Every position you can be in a kitchen and even a kitchen manager for years and coming from my kitchen manager standpoint, I would be honored if they were part of my team. You have two hard workers there That definitely deserve the credit even being a little frazzled, they continue to communicate with the guests Apologizing for things that weren’t in their controland keep a smile on While doing so! And to the woman that came in complaining about her drawer that was unprofessional in front of guests I watched the whole thing and instead of complaining she should’ve jumped behind the counter and gave them the hand they needed and sorted out the drawer later. I do understand the severity of cash registers, but that is not a discussion to have in front of guest specially, when you’re busy and you see you have annoyed guests! Even though it was a cluster today and I had to wait longer than normal, I will be returning because the courtesy and this respect that Carson and Andrew showed in a chaotic situation!

I keep coming back because when it's a take out night my daughter only wants a large side of noodles. I usually skip Panda, but I was craving it the last two trips. I asked for a large chow mein (for my daughter) and we ordered two plates. They gave us a large orange chicken. So we ended up giving her ours. The food is really not that pricey, but I'm tired of paying $8 for 6 full bites of chicken and a load of noodles. This is an everytime occurrence. I've called about it once or twice before, when I opened our food and we had what I know was not even half a serving. But it's always "we give portioned scoops". This store fills you up with rice, and though I'm not entirely sure, I'm guessing it's so they can pro-long having to make fresh batches of noodles and meat. Everytime we've come here if there's a female drive through employee, they're extremely rude. I'm not there for conversation or to make friends, so I don't necessarily care if you're "nice" to me, but you can hand people their food without saying "here" and closing the window before we can say thankyou. Drive-thru is usually quick, and the food is usually hot. I'm sure I'd get the "if you don't like it don't eat here" comments, but I can't avoid this place because my mini loves it, and it's a nice change from time to time. I rave about good businesses and hate writing bad reviews, but this store needs better customer service training. And also.. (more importantly).. you signed up for the hourly wage, just give me my full scoop 😩
