About Panda Express
Panda Express, a widely recognized fast-casual Chinese restaurant chain, has a prominent location at 2402 SE Burnside Rd, Gresham, OR 97080. Operating with phone services available at (503) 492-8180 and mobile at +1 503-492-8180, this establishment offers a convenient and accessible option for American-Chinese cuisine. It caters to a broad customer base looking for quick meals, combining elements of traditional Chinese flavors with a fast-food service model.
The environment at Panda Express is designed for efficiency and a streamlined dining experience, typical of a fast-casual chain. The ambiance is generally what one would expect at its price point, focusing on quick service and a functional layout. However, the cleanliness of the dining area can vary based on customer reports. While one reviewer described a "very dirty restaurant" with "tables covered in food crumbs, straws on the floor, & drink station an absolute mess," suggesting a lapse in maintenance, other general reviews indicate a clean atmosphere. This discrepancy suggests that cleanliness may be inconsistent. The setting is bright and usually bustling, with a serving line where customers choose their desired entrees and sides cafeteria-style. Seating is available for dine-in, but the high volume of takeout and delivery orders indicates a strong emphasis on convenience for customers on the go. The atmosphere is generally lively due to the continuous flow of customers and staff managing orders, fitting the fast-paced nature of the restaurant.
Service at Panda Express is largely characterized by its speed and the professional demeanor of its staff, though specific experiences can vary. Many customers laud the staff as "friendly, professional, and quick," highlighting efficiency as a key strength. This is crucial for a fast-casual establishment where patrons expect minimal wait times for their meals. The staff generally handles orders efficiently, ensuring that food is served promptly. However, there can be instances where service falls short, as one customer reported waiting "10-15 minutes" for food after being told a "five-minute" wait, and experiencing issues with items being out of stock (e.g., chow mein). Despite these isolated concerns, the overall impression for many is one of good service, with staff being attentive to order fulfillment. The quick turnover of food items on the serving line is part of the operational model, reflecting a constant effort to keep fresh batches available. The company also notably advertises pay for both entry-level and lower management employees, which some customers view positively as a sign of a responsible employer.
Panda Express distinguishes itself through its signature American-Chinese dishes and its value proposition. The menu features a variety of popular entrees and sides, allowing customers to customize their meals as bowls, plates, or bigger plates. Iconic dishes such as The Original Orange Chicken are a cornerstone of the menu, often praised for its distinct sweet and savory flavor, though specific experiences with quality can differ; one review mentioned "BURNT" and fatty chicken that was "not fresh" and difficult to chew. Other staples include chow mein, fried rice, and popular entrees like Honey Walnut Shrimp, Broccoli Beef, Beijing Beef, and Honey Sesame Chicken Breast. The range of options extends to appetizers like Cream Cheese Rangoons, Veggie Spring Rolls, Chicken Egg Rolls, and Apple Pie Rolls. Health-conscious options like Super Greens are also available as a side. The concept of "value" is frequently cited as a major drawing point, with customers noting that the "amount and quality of the food you get for $10 is objectively better than a lot of other places," and that the food "reheats well," making it a convenient option for multiple meals. While the flavors are generally adapted for the American palate, they consistently aim to deliver a satisfying and familiar experience. The restaurant chain's emphasis on speed and consistency in its offerings across various locations is a key feature, making it a reliable choice for many seeking quick Chinese food.
In terms of promotional information, Panda Express relies heavily on its established brand recognition and its consistent value offerings. The affordability of its meal combinations, such as the various bowl and plate options (e.g., a Bowl at around $10.80, a Plate at $12.60, and a Bigger Plate at $14.40), serves as a direct form of promotion in today's economy. The ability to customize meals and select from a hot bar makes the ordering process engaging for customers. Panda Express also actively participates in online delivery platforms such as DoorDash, Uber Eats, and Grubhub, expanding its reach and offering convenience for customers who prefer to enjoy their meals at home. These partnerships often feature exclusive deals or delivery promotions. The restaurant's long operating hours, typically from early morning (around 9:30 AM) until late evening (around 10:30 PM or 11:00 PM), ensure accessibility for most of the day. While specific discount coupons may not be publicly advertised, the consistent pricing and generous portions act as an inherent incentive. The company's commitment to employee welfare, as evidenced by transparent pay advertisements, can also indirectly contribute to a positive brand image. Overall, Panda Express in Gresham, OR, positions itself as a convenient, affordable, and generally reliable option for fast-casual American-Chinese food, appealing to those seeking a quick and satisfying meal.

Been to this location several times, and it’s never been this bad. We walked into a very dirty restaurant with all the tables covered in food crumbs, straws on the floor, & drink station an absolute mess. They were out of chow mein, which was alright. They told us we had to wait five minutes. After, paying for our food and taking a seat. We had to wipe our dirty table.. 10-15 minutes later we finally received our food. I ordered the chow main bowl with grilled chicken. As you can see in the photo the chicken was BURNT, I couldn’t even bite through it. Makes sense why they couldn’t cut through it.. DEFINITELY not worth the wait or the $10. I’m very disappointed by the lack of quality and cleanliness. The chicken was not fresh, had lots of fat. 👎🏼
Value. That’s what you’re getting from Panda over every other restaurant in town. I’ve ate at this Panda dozens of times and every time received good food, excellent service and the atmosphere is what you expect at this price point. The staff is friendly, professional, and quick. The amount and quality of the food you get for $10 is objectively better than a lot of other places and it re heats well. Staff is friendly, professional, and quick. They also advertise their pay for lower management employees as well as entry level employees in the restaurant in an effort to recruit new people which I commend. Not many fast food restaurants would do that for obvious reasons which helps me feel better about eating here.
Young women with brown hair was disrespectful and wasn’t showing any kindness. Sarcasm is disgusting, if you don’t know how to be respectful and keep a smile on your face then maybe don’t work in a fast food place.
I used to stop by on my way to Fred Meyer on Burnside. The food was decent, though some dishes were a bit too sweet for my taste. However, they were fine once I added some red garlic chili sauce.
I'm so annoyed. I love Panda Express. I am in a wheelchair and can't go to the restaurants anymore so, have to order delivery. I stopped ordering cuz you couldn't order the sauces to go with it. Finally, I see that is an option so I ordered double of the Sweet Fire Chicken (my favorite). I requested 5 sweet and sour sauce packets. I got one. That doesn't cut it. I don't have enough for the whole meal. I would not have ordered if I thought I wouldn't get the sauce. Why are you so chinzy with the sauces. Now, I hesitate to order again. Food anymore, especially, delivery, is so expensive and then not to get what you want is so frustrating!!!!
