Panda Express, situated at 4501 S Laburnum Ave #105 in Richmond, Virginia, is a well-known Chinese restaurant chain operating within the fast-casual dining segment. This location offers both takeout and dine-in options for local users seeking a quick and convenient meal. You can reach them by phone at (804) 877-8600 or +1 804-877-8600.

Based on recent customer feedback, the dining experience at this Richmond Panda Express location presents a mixed picture. While the restaurant's ambiance, in terms of appearance and smell, is noted positively by one reviewer, the actual food quality received varied feedback. This customer specifically mentioned issues with several dishes, including uncooked fried rice and chow mein noodles, as well as tough black pepper chicken. However, they did find the sesame chicken and walnut shrimp to be enjoyable.

Another customer provided a more general assessment, stating that the overall food quality is generally satisfactory. However, they pointed out that certain items, specifically the brown rice and lo mein, tend to taste bland. Additionally, this reviewer noted the frequent unavailability of certain dishes, leading to waiting times for replenishment. A significant concern raised was an observation of an employee handling their phone and then proceeding to handle food without wearing gloves. The customer emphasized the importance of all employees adhering to the practice of wearing gloves while serving food and expressed uncertainty as to why the on-duty manager was not ensuring compliance with this food safety regulation.

Considering these reviews, potential customers can expect a typical Panda Express environment – a brightly lit, bustling fast-food setting designed for efficient service and quick turnover. The aroma of Chinese-American cuisine is likely to be noticeable upon entering. The service model is counter-based, where customers typically select their dishes from a visible steam table and pay before dining in or taking their food to go.

In terms of services, Panda Express primarily offers takeout and dine-in options. Delivery services through third-party platforms may also be available, though this is not explicitly mentioned in the provided information. Customers can place their orders in person at the counter. Given the feedback about dishes being frequently out of stock, it might be advisable to inquire about the availability of specific items when placing your order.

The features of Panda Express as a chain generally include a standardized menu of popular Chinese-American dishes, such as Orange Chicken, Kung Pao Chicken, and various fried rice and noodle options. The appeal often lies in the speed of service and the relatively affordable price point. However, the reviews for this specific Richmond location highlight potential inconsistencies in food preparation and adherence to food safety protocols.

Promotional information specific to this Richmond location is not included in the provided text. Panda Express as a brand frequently offers various promotions, such as limited-time offers on new dishes, family meal deals, and online ordering discounts. Local users are encouraged to check the Panda Express website or inquire at the store for any ongoing promotions or special offers.

For local users in the South Laburnum Avenue area of Richmond, this Panda Express offers a convenient option for a quick Chinese meal. The dine-in area provides a casual setting for those who wish to eat at the restaurant, while the takeout service caters to those preferring to eat elsewhere. However, prospective customers should be aware of the mixed feedback regarding food quality, particularly the reported blandness of some items and the issue of uncooked food. The concerns raised about food handling practices are also important to consider.

While one reviewer found the sesame chicken and walnut shrimp enjoyable, the inconsistencies in other dishes suggest that the quality might vary. The frequent unavailability of certain dishes could also impact the ordering experience, potentially requiring customers to choose alternative options or wait for their preferred items to be prepared.

To make an informed decision, local users may want to weigh the convenience and familiarity of the Panda Express brand against the potential drawbacks highlighted in the customer reviews. If speed and a standard menu of Chinese-American fast food are priorities, this location may be suitable. However, those with higher expectations for food quality and strict food safety standards might approach with caution.

It is recommended that customers who choose to dine at this Panda Express pay close attention to the food they receive and raise any concerns about preparation or hygiene directly with the staff or management on duty. While the overall customer service was described as adequate by one reviewer, the specific incident of unsafe food handling is a serious issue that warrants attention from the management.

In conclusion, the Panda Express at 4501 S Laburnum Ave #105 in Richmond, VA, offers a standard menu of Chinese-American fast food with both dine-in and takeout services. Customer reviews indicate that while the ambiance is generally acceptable, there are concerns regarding the blandness of some dishes, the frequent unavailability of items, and inconsistencies in food preparation, including instances of uncooked food. A significant concern was also raised about an employee's food handling practices. Local users seeking a quick and familiar Chinese meal should consider these points when deciding whether to visit this location. Checking for any ongoing promotions directly with the store might also be beneficial.

The quality of the food is generally satisfactory. However, the brown rice and lo mein taste bland. Also, quite often, there are dishes that are out, and you have to wait for more to come out. The overall customer service is adequate, although there was an instance where an employee was observed handling their phone and then proceeding to handle food, which is a matter of concern for me. It is imperative that all employees adhere to the practice of WEARING GLOVES while serving food. I am uncertain as to why the manager on duty is not ensuring compliance with this regulation to the employees.

Looks can be deceiving because the place looks and smells good. Food uncooked and tasteless. I had fried rice, I promise you the rice was not fully cooked. My mom had the chowmein...noodles not cooked. The black pepper chicken was hard to eat. I enjoyed the sesame chicken and walnut shrimp But no no no will not be back to this location.

This is the only Panda Express I've been aboard and they've set the bar high for their other locations. The spirited staff always have this place running like a well-oiled machine, steadily WOKing and rolling to keep the line moving. I don't know if it's the absence of a drive-thru or if we're just that lucky on timing, but they always have the food fresh and well stocked. We usually each get the 'Plate" and always find the proportions of the rice/noodles commensurate with the meats. My wife naturally loves their famous Orange chicken while my go-to is the Beijing Beef, which has the perfect combination of crisp and tangy flavor with a hint of spice. FORTUNE: "The real kindness comes from within you."

The atmosphere completely changed when a manager walked in and started to yell at one of her employees. It bothered me so bad that when I finished ordering my food and it came time to pay, I had to say something to the manager because as a business owner you always want to teach your own employees with the utmost respect. They are the ones that's making your money. The manager that I spoke with which also is the manager that caused the disruption truly did not care how she was speaking to her employee...... Although the employee had a headphone in her ear, she was just coming back from break and saw that her shift was really busy. So she sprung right into work without even clocking in so I commend her. She did a great job. I think her name was Tay she even held her composure when the manager was just loud with her over a headphone I called in this concern. I hope it was truly heard none of this is to say that someone should be fired. It's just said so that people are aware how their employees are being treated by managers by the way, the food was awesome. The team was great. They were fast and efficient with making the food and fulfilling the orders. It was quite a few people in there and even under pressure when the manager walked in they all still did great 🫶🏾🫶🏾

Slooowwwwww, they open at 10 all options won't be available until about 10:45 whether ordering online or walking in. Atleast this has been my experience on at least 4 different occasions over the last 3 months. I normally stop by if I get off of work late. Imagine being hungry and tired and still having to wait at least 20 minutes for an order you already paid for 🥲.
