About Panda Express

Panda Express is a Chinese restaurant located at 375 S Illinois Ave in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, with the zip code 37830. As part of a well-known national chain of Chinese restaurants, Panda Express in Oak Ridge provides a convenient option for local users seeking a quick and relatively affordable takeout fix of Chinese-American cuisine. They can be contacted at (865) 483-7121 or via their mobile number at +1 865-483-7121.

Recent customer reviews offer a glimpse into the experience at this Oak Ridge location of Panda Express. One reviewer highlighted its appeal as an alternative to potentially more expensive local Chinese restaurants when seeking takeout. They described the food as "very nice" and mentioned having consistently accurate orders. This customer also noted the "great and friendly" interior ambiance, expressing a slight disappointment in not seeing more people dining inside. They recommended that more patrons consider eating inside, praising the employees as "great" and hardworking.

This review paints a generally positive picture of the food quality, order accuracy, and the in-restaurant environment and staff. It suggests that Panda Express in Oak Ridge offers a pleasant interior for those choosing to dine in, and reliable takeout service for those on the go. The comment about the employees being great and working hard indicates a positive aspect of the service provided.

However, another recent review presents a contrasting experience, specifically concerning the drive-thru service and the restaurant's preparedness at its stated opening time. This customer reported arriving at 9:35 AM, five minutes after the listed opening time of 9:30 AM, only to be informed via the intercom in the drive-thru that they would be assisted in a minute because the staff was not yet ready to open. This individual, who had previous experience working in restaurants, expressed their understanding of pre-opening procedures aimed at ensuring readiness for customers at the stated opening time.

The reviewer then detailed waiting for an additional 10 to 15 minutes in the drive-thru without any further communication from the restaurant staff. Due to their own time constraints and the need to be at work, they ultimately decided to leave without placing an order. This negative experience highlights a significant issue with the restaurant's punctuality and preparedness to serve customers immediately at its advertised opening time. The lack of further communication during the extended wait also suggests a lapse in customer service in this particular instance.

Considering these two reviews, the experience at Panda Express in Oak Ridge appears to be somewhat varied. Customers seeking takeout may find the food to be "very nice" and the order accuracy reliable, as mentioned by one reviewer. Additionally, the interior of the restaurant is described as "great and friendly," suggesting a potentially pleasant environment for those choosing to dine in. The staff is also acknowledged as "great" and hardworking by this reviewer.

However, the negative experience at the drive-thru raises concerns about the restaurant's operational efficiency, particularly at its opening time. The delay in service and the lack of communication could be a significant inconvenience for customers relying on the drive-thru for a quick meal, especially those with time-sensitive schedules. This suggests that while the food and in-house environment might be positive, the drive-thru service might be less reliable in terms of promptness, especially shortly after the advertised opening time.

As a national chain, Panda Express is known for its consistent menu of Chinese-American fast food, featuring popular dishes like orange chicken, Kung Pao chicken, broccoli beef, and chow mein. The "nice food" mentioned in one review likely refers to these familiar and widely enjoyed menu items. The affordability of Panda Express, especially compared to some local Chinese restaurants, makes it an attractive option for those seeking a budget-friendly meal.

The environment of Panda Express locations typically features a casual and brightly lit dining area, designed for quick service and both dine-in and takeout customers. The "great and friendly" interior mentioned in the review suggests that this Oak Ridge location maintains the chain's standard for a clean and welcoming ambiance for those who choose to eat inside.

The services offered by Panda Express primarily include quick-service takeout and dine-in options. The presence of a drive-thru at this Oak Ridge location provides added convenience for customers on the go. The friendly demeanor of the staff, as noted by one reviewer, contributes positively to the service experience, whether interacting at the counter or in the dining area.

Panda Express frequently offers various promotions and deals, which can include family feasts, meal combinations, and limited-time offers. However, the provided reviews do not mention any specific promotions currently running at the Oak Ridge location. Customers interested in learning about any available discounts or special offers should check the Panda Express website or app, or inquire directly at the restaurant.

In conclusion, Panda Express in Oak Ridge, TN, offers a convenient and generally well-regarded option for Chinese takeout, with one reviewer praising the "nice food," order accuracy, and "great and friendly" interior and staff. However, potential customers, especially those using the drive-thru shortly after the advertised opening time, should be aware of the reported issues with punctuality and preparedness for service. While the food and in-house experience seem positive, the drive-thru service may occasionally face delays. For those seeking an affordable and familiar Chinese-American takeout option with a pleasant interior for dining in, Panda Express in Oak Ridge is worth considering. Checking for any ongoing promotions could also enhance the value.

If you don't want to go spending 40$+ on local chinese food this is a great place for some of that take out fix! The food is very nice and I have never had problems with my order, the interior looks great and friendly too but I sadly don't see many people eating inside. I would recommend people to inside more often as the employees seem great and work plenty hard.

Whats the point of being open at 9:30am if you aren't capable of serving someone until 9:50am? I've worked in restaurants before. The point of coming in before opening and the point of prepping stuff is to make sure it's ready for when you open. You guys got on the intercom in the drive thru to tell me you will be right with me in a min because you guys aren't ready to open(even though its 9:35am and you open at 9:30am)...I sit there for 10-15 mins with NO more communication before I just decide to leave i because I have to be at work. You know because I actually care about timing. You know how you're supposed to be at work and doing your job on time.

Their orange chicken and sesame chicken is good. The fired rice is dry and doesn’t have a great flavor but soy sauce helps. I do wish they had knives along with the forks. Sometimes the pieces are too large and you can’t cut them. Yes, they will cut them up while serving if you remember to ask.

I just paid $10 for 4 pieces of beef and 4 pieces of uneatable broccoli that looked like they found it out by the dumpster! The fried rice was crunchy, like uncooked type crunchy in places, and had dried out egg in it that I honestly thought was paper at first. This was the first time I ever went to this location and I can promise you it will be my Last!!! I will say the drive thru was quick and the staff friendly. It's a shame the food was so disappointing!!!!!
