About Panda Express

Panda Express, a well-known name in the realm of Chinese restaurants, offers a familiar taste of American Chinese cuisine to the local community in West Covina, California. Situated conveniently at 811 Plaza Dr within a mall setting, this branch provides an accessible option for those seeking a quick and satisfying meal while shopping or in the vicinity.

As a Chinese restaurant operating within the platform category, Panda Express aims to provide a range of services and goods characteristic of this culinary tradition, albeit with its distinct Americanized approach. While specific details about the ambiance of this particular food court location are not extensively available online, it generally aligns with the fast-paced and casual atmosphere typical of such environments. Customers can likely expect a functional and efficient space designed for quick service and convenient dining.

In terms of services, Panda Express primarily operates on a counter-service model. Customers can browse the selection of pre-prepared dishes displayed, choose their desired entrees, sides, and beverages, and then proceed to checkout. The focus is on speed and efficiency, catering to individuals and families looking for a readily available meal. While the provided information does not detail specific services like table service or reservations, these are generally not features associated with food court locations of fast-casual chains like Panda Express.

The features of Panda Express are rooted in its established menu of American Chinese favorites. Dishes such as Orange Chicken, Kung Pao Chicken, Broccoli Beef, and Chow Mein have become synonymous with the brand. These dishes are typically prepared in large batches and kept warm for efficient serving. The menu also includes various appetizers like spring rolls and cream cheese wontons, as well as a selection of rice and noodle options to complement the main entrees. The appeal of Panda Express lies in its consistent flavor profile and the convenience of its service model.

However, it is essential to consider the feedback from real customers to gain a comprehensive understanding of the dining experience at this specific West Covina location. One review highlights a positive interaction with an employee named Andy, praising his excellent vibes, politeness, and communication skills. This suggests that at least some staff members are providing positive customer service.

Conversely, another detailed review presents a less favorable experience. This customer, who had previously enjoyed dining at a different Panda Express location, noted several issues at the West Covina food court branch. These concerns included smaller food servings than expected, the absence of drink refills, and a lack of paper napkins. The interaction with one of the servers regarding the napkin issue was particularly negative, with the customer alleging that the server initially offered torn pieces of paper towels and later suggested asking for napkins from other food outlets. This customer further stated that the situation was only addressed after raising their voice, at which point a person identified as Steven, possibly the manager, intervened, apologized, and provided napkins. This negative review also mentioned the customer's disappointment and their intention to leave a bad review, noting that they were not the first to have a negative experience at this location.

Considering this feedback, it appears that while Panda Express, as a brand, offers a familiar menu of American Chinese cuisine, the experience at this particular location in the West Covina mall food court may vary. Factors such as portion sizes, specific service policies (like drink refills and the availability of basic amenities like napkins), and the responsiveness of staff to customer concerns seem to be areas where experiences can differ.

Currently, the provided information does not include any specific promotional details for this West Covina Panda Express location. It is advisable for interested customers to check the official Panda Express website or inquire directly at the restaurant for any ongoing promotions, discounts, or special offers.

In conclusion, Panda Express at 811 Plaza Dr, West Covina, serves as a convenient option for those seeking American Chinese food within the mall's food court. While it offers the familiar menu and quick service associated with the brand, potential customers should be aware that experiences can vary, as indicated by the customer reviews. It is recommended to consider both the positive feedback regarding friendly staff and the negative feedback concerning service inconsistencies and amenities when deciding to dine at this particular location.

My wife and I looked forward to eating at Panda. We used to eat at their branch at Hacienda Heights. But we were at the mall, so we went to the food court. First, their food servings were smaller than usual. Seconds, they don’t allow drink refills. Lastly, they did not have paper napkins. When my wife asked for the paper towels instead that was available, the woman server cannot but gave my wife torn pieces that were useless and gravely insulting. When I complained, she now suggested that we ask for napkins from the other food outlets. She was passing her problem to the customer. Only when I started to raise my voice did Steven, probably the manager, approached me. He apologized, gave me what the woman cannot, and promised to “talk” to her. I don’t know if he would, but l also promised to give the a bad review. I was surprised that I was not the first or only one to give the place a bad review. I am very disappointed at Panda.

Charge $.99 for a cup to get tap water! The manager, Asian guy, will check for $100 bills with the same gloves he’s touching the utensils for the food. The manager literally gives only one napkin and if you want more he’ll ask how many, same with the condiments, only one if you ask for it.
