About Panda Express

Panda Express, located at 1901 Northwest Expy #2051 in Oklahoma City, OK 73118, USA, is part of a widely recognized fast-casual Chinese restaurant chain. Situated within the Penn Square Mall, it offers a convenient and quick dining option for shoppers and local residents seeking American Chinese cuisine. As a chain, Panda Express aims to provide a consistent menu and experience, though individual location performance can vary, as highlighted by customer feedback.

The **environment** of this Panda Express location is typical of a food court setting within a large shopping mall. This means it operates within a bustling, open space, characterized by a lively atmosphere and often a degree of ambient noise. Customers generally interact with the service counter for ordering and pickup, and seating is usually communal within the food court area. While this setup prioritizes efficiency and quick turnover, it may not offer the intimate or quiet dining experience of a traditional sit-down restaurant. The convenience of its mall location, however, makes it a popular stop for those looking for a fast meal while shopping or during a quick break.

The **services** provided by Panda Express are primarily focused on speed and efficiency. It operates on a cafeteria-style line, allowing customers to select their preferred entrees and sides for immediate serving. This model is designed for quick service, catering to individuals looking for a fast meal. The restaurant offers dine-in options within the food court, as well as convenient takeout. Furthermore, this location provides delivery services through popular platforms like DoorDash, Uber Eats, Grubhub, and Postmates, extending its reach to customers who prefer to enjoy their meals at home or work. This multi-channel approach to service enhances its accessibility and convenience for a broad customer base.

Regarding **features** and cuisine, Panda Express is famous for its American Chinese menu, characterized by a selection of popular, ready-to-serve dishes. Signature items include "The Original Orange Chicken," which is a crowd favorite, along with other popular entrees like Honey Walnut Shrimp, Broccoli Beef, Beijing Beef, Kung Pao Chicken, and Grilled Teriyaki Chicken. Customers also choose from a variety of sides, including Chow Mein, Fried Rice, White Steamed Rice, and Super Greens. The menu is designed for customization, allowing patrons to build their own "Plate" (1 side, 2 entrees), "Bigger Plate" (1 side, 3 entrees), or "Bowl" (1 side, 1 entree). They also offer "Family Meal" options, catering to larger groups. While the "Orange Chicken" is a top seller, one reviewer found it "little too sweet for my taste buds" and struggled to distinguish it from "honey sesame chicken," suggesting a uniform sweetness profile across some dishes.

However, customer experiences at this specific Panda Express location have been somewhat inconsistent. While some reviews mention "quick service" and "staff was very nice and considerate," others highlight significant concerns regarding food quality and customer service. One particularly negative review described the rice as smelling "sour," the egg roll looking "twice fried," and the chicken being "kinda of hard" or "very hard and not easy to chew." Another review noted the "chow mein is stale and a little bit cold," and the "food looked old and very little was there." These comments raise concerns about food freshness and consistency in preparation. Furthermore, an issue with customer service was reported when a customer desired a refund and "the lady gave me attitude," indicating a potential struggle with handling customer complaints or issues. While corporate refund policies generally require a manager to be present and often direct customers to call a corporate line or return with a receipt, the direct staff interaction on-site can significantly impact customer satisfaction.

In terms of **promotional information**, Panda Express, as a large chain, regularly features national promotions and limited-time offers, which would apply to this Oklahoma City location. These often include new seasonal entrees, combo deals, or online ordering incentives. The convenience of their combo options, such as the "Plate" and "Bigger Plate," inherently serves as a form of value promotion, allowing customers to select multiple items at a fixed price point. The ease of online ordering and delivery through major platforms is also a significant promotional aspect, as it caters to the modern consumer's demand for convenience and accessibility. Customers can often find loyalty programs or specific discounts through the Panda Express mobile app or through third-party delivery services.

Panda Express at 1901 Northwest Expy #2051 can be reached by phone at (405) 879-2099 or mobile at +1 405-879-2099. Its operating hours are generally extensive, often from 10:00 AM or 11:00 AM until 8:00 PM or later, seven days a week, aligning with typical mall hours. This consistent availability makes it a convenient stop for meals throughout the day. While it benefits from the brand recognition of Panda Express, potential patrons should be aware of the varied customer experiences reported, particularly concerning food freshness and on-site customer service, and may wish to manage expectations accordingly for a fast-casual dining experience.

In summary, Panda Express at Penn Square Mall in Oklahoma City offers a familiar fast-casual Chinese dining experience, characterized by a menu of popular American Chinese dishes like Orange Chicken, Chow Mein, and Fried Rice. Its mall food court location provides convenience and quick service for both dine-in and takeout, with extensive delivery options available. While it offers a consistent menu and quick service, recent customer feedback suggests potential inconsistencies in food freshness and staff responsiveness, particularly regarding refund requests. Despite these mixed reviews, its broad appeal and accessibility make it a frequent choice for those seeking a quick and affordable Chinese meal in the area.

Service was quick. staff was very nice and considerate. I found orange chicken little too sweet for my taste buds. Truly speaking, I can't distinguish the difference in taste of orange chicken and honey sesame chicken. I liked their combo options.

Waited over 30 minutes for grilled chicken after 35 minutes of waiting in my car for someout to come out with my food. I went inside and they had forgotten about my order. I wasn't offended a refund or free coupon for next time. I will never come back. This is for the nw expressway by Sam's

First experience at a Panda Express - I didn't care for the food so much. The egg rolls were pretty good but that's about it. The service was exceptional though so keep that up! Overall, 3 stars for me.
