About Panda Express

Panda Express, situated at 1620 N School St Ste 119 in Honolulu, Hawaii, is a branch of the well-known American Chinese fast-food restaurant chain. Operating under the platform category of "Chinese Restaurant," this location provides a variety of familiar dishes, catering to both dine-in and takeout customers. Based on recent online reviews, the experiences at this particular Panda Express appear to offer a mix of positive and negative aspects.

One customer reported an experience with "quick service" and "friendly staff," which are generally positive attributes for a fast-food establishment. However, this positive feedback was contrasted with concerns about the food quality. The reviewer described the food as "so dry n oily" that they felt they should have ordered a drink. They also noted that the food was "not hot or fresh," with the exception of the orange chicken, which was deemed "okay." Interestingly, they found the "veggies" to be the best part of their meal. This review suggests potential inconsistencies in food preparation and freshness at this location.

Another customer shared a more positive experience, highlighting Panda Express as "one of my favorite places to go for takeout orders." This preference for takeout was attributed to the limited dine-in space available at this location. Their primary order is the "Extra large plate," which they typically customize with extra fried rice, honey walnut shrimp, and the "new Spicy honey chicken." Despite its name, they found the spicy honey chicken to be not spicy at all but preferred it over the traditional orange chicken. This customer also mentioned a unique way of enjoying their meal by ordering an extra serving of the honey chicken in a separate box to mix in later at home. Their overall assessment of their regular takeout order was "Soo Onolisish!!!" (delicious in Hawaiian Pidgin).

This second reviewer also noted that they generally avoid purchasing drinks from Panda Express due to higher prices compared to other places, and because they have reduced their soda consumption. They recalled dining inside only once, during a shopping trip in the area, further supporting the idea of limited dine-in space. While they appreciate the "Extra large plate" for its reasonable price, especially considering they can usually eat it themselves with some shared with their service dog, they found the family meal or larger takeout boxes to be comparatively expensive.

Considering these two recent reviews, it appears that the Panda Express on N School St in Honolulu may be more geared towards takeout service due to limited dine-in space. The staff is generally perceived as friendly and the service as quick. However, the quality and freshness of the food seem to be inconsistent, with one reviewer experiencing dryness and oiliness, while another consistently enjoys their specific takeout order of honey walnut shrimp and spicy honey chicken. The orange chicken received mixed feedback, being described as "okay" by one and less preferred than the spicy honey chicken by another.

Information regarding the specific environment or ambiance of the dine-in area is scarce, but the mention of "little room for dine in" suggests a smaller seating capacity, possibly emphasizing a more grab-and-go model. This could be typical for Panda Express locations situated in busy commercial areas.

The services offered at this Panda Express likely include standard fast-food service: ordering at a counter, with options for both eating on-site (if space permits) and taking the food away. The positive mention of "quick service" indicates efficiency in processing orders. The availability of phone orders for takeout is also implied by the provided phone numbers: (808) 848-9998 and +1 808-848-9998.

Features of this Panda Express are consistent with the chain, offering a menu of American Chinese dishes with customizable plate options including a choice of entrees, sides (like fried rice, chow mein, and various vegetable dishes), and appetizers (such as spring rolls and cream cheese rangoons). The "Extra large plate" mentioned by one reviewer is a specific offering that caters to individuals with a larger appetite or those looking to share. The introduction of new menu items, such as the "Spicy honey chicken," is also a characteristic of the chain, aiming to provide variety and attract customers.

Promotional information specific to this Honolulu location is not available in the provided reviews. Panda Express as a national chain frequently offers various promotions, seasonal dishes, and online ordering deals through their website and mobile app. Local users interested in potential discounts or special offers at this N School St location should check the official Panda Express website or app, or inquire directly when placing an order.

In conclusion, the Panda Express at 1620 N School St Ste 119 in Honolulu offers quick service and friendly staff, primarily catering to takeout customers due to limited dine-in space. While some customers find certain dishes like the honey walnut shrimp and spicy honey chicken to be consistently enjoyable, there are reports of inconsistency in food quality, with issues of dryness and lack of freshness. The orange chicken receives mixed reviews. For local users seeking a convenient American Chinese meal in Honolulu, this Panda Express provides a familiar option, but it may be wise to consider the reported inconsistencies in food preparation when making a choice. For the most up-to-date menu, hours, and any potential promotions, it is recommended to contact the restaurant directly or check the Panda Express website or app.

One of my favorite places to go for takeout orders. Only because they have little room for dine in. My main order is the Extra large plate. So I usually always order the Extra fried rice, Honey walnut shrimp and the new Spicy honey chicken which isn't spicy at all but it beats out the orange chicken any day if you try it. And my side on the Extra large plate is an extra order of the Honey chicken in a box instead of it being put on my plate because I like to eat it later I mix it in with at home. My secret mix?πŸ’™ I've pretty much tried most that you can choose from and this is what I buy 99 percent of the time I go there for a take out for dinner. It's Soo Onolisish!!! I never buy a drink from them because it's more expensive than other places and I usually don't drink soda anymore so I buy my drink from somewhere else. I only have eaten inside once and it was because me and my bff were running around shopping in that area that day. I would love to order the family meal or a bunch or large takeout boxes but find that it is very expensive buying that way and the extra large plate is very reasonable to me. I can usually eat the large plate myself but my service dog loves the chicken also. Mahalo and Aloha

Great for body builders and fitness enthusiasts. Teri Chicken with super greens and brown rice one of many high protein, low calorie meal options. I would not be able to nearly as easily maintain my physique and progress towards my goals without pandas to help me in a pinch!

NO STARS should also be an option. Kams shopping center DISAPPOINTS AGAIN.I always do big orders. Usually 2 or more party pans with a regular size plate with sides paying extra fee for the honey walnut shrimp and this is the bulletin they leave me with. This is my first BAD REVIEW even though this location let's me down multiple times. 🀭🀬😑😀😩
