About Panda Express

Panda Express, located at 1149 N Saginaw Blvd, Saginaw, TX 76179, USA, is a well-known chain of Chinese restaurants offering a variety of American Chinese cuisine. While recognized for its fast-food style service and popular dishes, recent customer reviews for this specific Saginaw location present some significant concerns regarding food quality, service, and overall dining experience. As a Chinese Restaurant, Panda Express typically aims to provide quick and convenient meals; however, feedback suggests that this particular branch may be falling short of expectations in several key areas.

One detailed review describes a particularly negative experience occurring shortly before the restaurant's stated closing time. Despite the posted hours indicating an 11 PM closure, the reviewers arrived around 9:30 PM to find chairs already stacked, floors being cleaned, and a general atmosphere that made them feel unwelcome. The early cleaning activities, starting as early as 9 PM or sooner, gave the impression that the staff was eager to close well before the advertised time. This immediately created a negative perception and a sense of being an inconvenience to the staff.

The service encountered was also described as slow initially, with the customers having to wait a few minutes before being attended to, even though they were eventually greeted politely and asked to wait. Furthermore, the review mentions a strong smell of cleaning chemicals emanating from the back of the restaurant, so potent that the customer could even taste it. This raises concerns about the timing and thoroughness of cleaning procedures, potentially impacting the dining environment even for takeout customers.

Regarding the food availability, the reviewers noted that while most main dishes were present, sides like wontons or egg rolls would require an 8-minute wait. This lack of readily available side options at a relatively early hour is another indication of potential early shutdown preparations. More alarmingly, the quality of the food itself was severely criticized. The teriyaki chicken was described as burnt, with the server seemingly aware of this but serving it anyway after sifting through the top pieces. Upon consumption, the burnt and charred nature of the chicken was evident, and even the fried rice contained burnt egg and carrots. Due to the unwelcoming atmosphere and the strong chemical smell, the customers opted for takeout, further highlighting their dissatisfaction with the dine-in experience.

Adding to the negative feedback, the reviewer also pointed out that their "sweet fire" chicken dish contained a meager four pieces of chicken, indicating a potential issue with portion control or consistency in dish preparation. The accompanying photograph of the burnt chicken served as visual evidence of the poor food quality encountered during this visit. The overall sentiment of this review was one of "massive disappointment," with the reviewer expressing uncertainty about returning to this location in the future.

Another customer review echoed concerns about consistently subpar food quality, specifically mentioning the honey walnut shrimp. This dish, a popular item at Panda Express, was repeatedly described as "poorly breaded" and sometimes "stale, hard, and crunchy" when ordered from this Saginaw location. This suggests a recurring issue with the preparation and freshness of at least one of their signature dishes. The most alarming aspect of this review was the claim of finding a piece of metal in the meal. This is a serious food safety concern and indicates a potential lack of care in food preparation processes. The reviewer strongly advised others to avoid this location to "save your stomach," further alleging that the employees do not prioritize food quality or proper food safety.

Considering these reviews, the Panda Express in Saginaw, TX, appears to have significant issues related to food quality, consistency, and potentially food safety. The service was also perceived as unwelcoming by one reviewer due to early closing preparations and a lack of attentiveness upon arrival. The presence of a strong chemical smell further detracts from any potential positive aspects of the dining experience.

Given the severity of the complaints, particularly the mention of finding metal in the food, local users should exercise extreme caution when considering this Panda Express location. The consistent issues with the honey walnut shrimp and the instance of severely burnt food also indicate a lack of quality control. While Panda Express as a brand is widely recognized, the experiences reported at this specific Saginaw branch are concerning and do not align with typical expectations for a food service establishment.

There is no promotional information available in the provided reviews. The focus is entirely on negative experiences related to food and service. Therefore, it is impossible to comment on any positive aspects such as special offers or customer loyalty programs at this location based on the given data.

In conclusion, the customer reviews for the Panda Express at 1149 N Saginaw Blvd, Saginaw, TX, paint a concerning picture. Reports of burnt food, stale items, potential foreign objects in meals, unwelcoming service, and strong chemical odors suggest significant shortcomings in the operation of this particular branch. Local users seeking a reliable and pleasant Chinese fast-food experience may want to consider alternative options based on the serious nature of the issues raised in these reviews. The lack of positive feedback or promotional information further underscores the need for caution when considering this restaurant.

When we pulled up it was right before 930 pm. They already had the chairs up. So we had to double check their closing hours and it still said 11pm. So we went in. They had already cleaned the floor. Which means they started at like 9 or sooner. Immediately was thinking that's way too early and didn't make up feel welcomed to eat there. Took them a few minutes to help us, she had nicely asked us to wait. They had soap all over the floors back there too. The smell was so so strong. I could taste it even. They had most of the main food there but no sides. If we wanted to eat like wantons or egg rolls we had to wait 8 mins she said. The teriyaki was burnt!!! Like she tossed like 3 pieces to get to the bottom and it was all still burnt. Which she gave me anyways. After eating some I couldn't bite thru the charlled burnt chicken and saw the egg and carrots in the fried rice were also burned. Which we obviously took our food to go because we didn't want to eat smelling the chemicals or having to make us take a chair down. But they were still very busy for 930. Idk or I'm not sure ill care either to go back there. Pic is just how burnt the chicken was and also I got like 4 pieces of chicken in my sweet fire. Such a massive disappointment.

Consistently served subpar food, I typically get the honey walnut shrimp and anytime i get from this location they are always poorly breaded and sometimes stale, hard, and crunchy. Today was by far the worst time, as I seem to have found a piece of metal in my meal. Do not go here, save your stomach. Employees do not care about your food or proper food safety

I asked for one of my sides to be cooked fresh since what was present on the line at the bottom of the pan/bowl looked burnt and expired. Waited for it to cook only to watch them throw the old expired burnt remaining batch into *"WHAT I DID NOT WANT IN THE FIRST PLACE"* into the new batch and attempted to try to serve it to me anyways. When I corrected the issue. The server rolled her eyes and looked at other employees like I was the problem and got short and had a attitude afterwards about it. I almost didnt want the meal entirely and was grossed out... That's completely disgusting. Probably should have not paid at all and left it there as is.. I have regrets.. I hope I don't get sick.

Nothing much has changed. Again, most of trays usually are empty and there's a wait on the popular teriyaki chicken dish. Nothing ever really looks appetizing except for the crab ragoons. My kid likes this place. I usually go elsewhere!!
