About Panda Express

Panda Express, located at 14040 N May Ave in Oklahoma City, OK 73134, is part of a well-known chain of Chinese restaurants. While generally recognized for offering a quick and convenient option for Chinese-American cuisine, recent customer reviews regarding this specific Oklahoma City location raise significant concerns about food quality and service.

One customer recounts a particularly negative experience, beginning with a perceived negative tone from the staff when placing an order below a certain price point. While the reviewer expressed some tolerance for this aspect due to the stresses of customer service work, their dissatisfaction escalated considerably upon receiving their food. The order, which included egg rolls and rangoons, was found to be entirely burnt. Adding to the unpleasantness, a non-burnt piece of Rangoon was reportedly cold. This contradictory combination led the reviewer to question how the food could be simultaneously burnt and cold, suggesting issues with the cooking process. Furthermore, the customer discovered a piece of receipt paper wrapped around one of the egg rolls, indicating a lack of attention to food handling and hygiene. The only item the reviewer felt comfortable consuming was the fortune cookie. As a result of this experience, the customer stated they would not be returning to this location, deeming it a "waste of money."

Another customer expressed feeling "quite offended" by the food they received. This order consisted of a plate combo with green bean chicken, beef broccoli, and noodles. The reviewer reported that the noodles were undercooked. More significantly, they noted a severe lack of meat in their dishes, stating they could only find approximately four small pieces of chicken and beef combined. This discrepancy between the expected and actual amount of protein was deeply disappointing to the customer, especially given their family background in owning Chinese restaurants. They felt the poor quality was akin to suggesting their parents could have succeeded by selling "trash food." This strong emotional response underscores the degree of dissatisfaction with the meal.

Adding a critical "side note," this second reviewer indicated that their order was placed around 6:15 PM, a typical dinner time. They argued that a restaurant should not be experiencing issues with running low on food or compromising quality during such peak hours. This suggests a potential systemic problem with food preparation, ingredient management, or quality control at this Panda Express location.

Based on these two recent and detailed customer reviews, it is difficult to provide a positive description of the environment, services, or features of this particular Panda Express on N May Ave. Both reviews focus almost entirely on negative aspects of the food quality and, to some extent, the service. There is no mention of the restaurant's ambiance, cleanliness, or any specific features that might typically be associated with a fast-casual dining establishment like Panda Express, such as indoor seating arrangements or the ordering process (beyond the perceived negative tone in one instance).

The service aspect is touched upon in both reviews, albeit negatively. One reviewer mentioned an irritated tone from staff, while the other implicitly criticized the service by highlighting the poor quality of the food received. The lack of attention to detail, as evidenced by the receipt paper in the food, also reflects poorly on the service standards.

In terms of features, Panda Express generally offers a standardized menu of Chinese-American dishes, typically displayed for easy selection. However, the experiences described in these reviews indicate a failure in the execution of these standard offerings at this location. The burnt egg rolls and rangoons, undercooked noodles, and minimal meat portions suggest significant issues with food preparation and quality control. The presence of foreign objects in the food is also a serious concern.

There is no promotional information available in the provided text. Therefore, it is impossible to comment on any special offers, discounts, or featured menu items that this specific Panda Express location might be promoting.

Given the serious nature of the complaints in these recent customer reviews, local users should approach the Panda Express at 14040 N May Ave with considerable caution. The reports of burnt and cold food, undercooked noodles, severely limited meat portions, and potential hygiene issues (receipt paper in food) are significant red flags. The perceived negative attitude from staff when dealing with smaller orders also detracts from the overall customer experience.

The fact that these issues reportedly occurred during a typical dinner hour further suggests that these might not be isolated incidents due to unusually high demand or end-of-day shortages. Instead, they could indicate more systemic problems with food preparation standards and quality control at this particular branch.

While Panda Express as a brand is generally known, these reviews serve as a stark reminder that the quality can vary significantly between different locations. Local users who have had positive experiences at other Panda Express restaurants should not automatically assume the same for this specific location on N May Ave.

In conclusion, based on the limited and overwhelmingly negative customer feedback provided, there are substantial concerns regarding the food quality and service at the Panda Express located at 14040 N May Ave in Oklahoma City. The reports of burnt and cold appetizers, undercooked noodles, minuscule meat portions, and potential hygiene issues paint a concerning picture. Local users are strongly advised to consider these recent experiences and perhaps explore other Chinese restaurant options in the area that have received more positive and consistent reviews. Without any positive feedback or information about the restaurant's environment or special features, a positive or encouraging introduction cannot be objectively constructed based solely on the available data.

I guess if you order under a certain price of food the folks will get an irritated tone of voice with you. That is something I can tolerance because I get it, dealing with people all day can be stressful. However, the state of my food is what I can’t tolerate. When I opened up the box, I discovered that the food was burnt. All of it. The egg rolls and the rangoons. Confusingly, it was also cold when I tried to eat a non burnt piece of Rangoon. So somehow, they managed to burn it, without actually cooking it. There was also receipt paper wrapped around one of the egg rolls. The only thing I felt comfortable eating was the fortune cookie. I’m not sure how it happened, but I won’t be returning to this location. What a waste of money.

I’m actually quite offended by the food they provided, I ordered a plate combo, green bean chicken and beef broccoli with noodles. First of all the noodles are not cooked long enough like it should, second where are my beef and chickens. All I see was 4 pieces of small meat. I will provide photo below but when I said offended it’s because my parents use to own Chinese restaurants this is like telling me, my parents didn’t need to work half as hard and can sell trash food to public and still make a good living. Side note this is around 6:15 pm you can’t be running low on food and quality.

Went to this Panda Express today for lunch. I ordered through the drive through a large coke and a small sprite. I get to the window and they hand me a large sprite instead of a small. So I politely said that the sprite is supposed to be a small. Which something this small and should’ve been a quick fix turned into a whole hassle going back and forth w the window lady about what I was charged as opposed to what I asked for. It was not so much about the charge it was about bringing home a large drink to my small child who would’ve only spilled the drink. The lady kept acting as though she couldn’t or didn’t want to change the price and give me what I actually ordered. Such a waste of my time and money. Because she refused to change the price or correct the order I paid for a large but had to leave with a small because like I said it was for a small child. It’s so minuscule but inconvenient and overall just a bad customer service experience. Instead of repeating the same thing to me such as “oh well she charged you for a large” the lady at the window could’ve explained etc as to why the order couldn’t be rectified to reflect what I originally ordered. But in reality the lady at the window seemed as though she was just being lazy and didn’t want to do the extra work to fix the order and charge me for what I ordered and not what the drive through lady misheard.

Super rude manager. THEIR delivery driver canceled the order I ordered. When that happens through THEIR Pandas express app it sends me a text message to contact pandas express for a refund. So I did. The manager expected ME to know WHO their company, pandas express, runs THEIR delivery service through. After getting cut off trying to explain to her that I would not know, since I’m not pandas express and I didn’t make the contract for THEIR company to do Delivery services she hung up on me without giving me a refund for the canceled order THEIR delivery person canceled.
