About Panda Express

Panda Express, located at 1440 N Lombard St in Portland, Oregon, is a familiar name in the Chinese Restaurant category, particularly known for its fast-food approach to American Chinese cuisine. As a chain restaurant, Panda Express aims to offer a consistent and convenient dining experience. However, recent customer reviews for this specific Portland location suggest a potential decline in food quality and consistency, which may be important for local users to consider.

One customer, who generally had positive experiences in the past, reported a recurring issue with the fried rice. They described it as "awful," noting a clumpy and mushy texture reminiscent of old, microwaved rice. This customer emphasized the simplicity of preparing good fried rice and expressed disappointment that it had been a "tasteless clump" on their last couple of visits. This feedback indicates a potential problem with the rice preparation at this location, which is a staple in many Chinese fast-food meals.

Another, more extensive review detailed a significantly negative dining experience. This customer reminisced about past positive family meals from Panda Express, highlighting a perceived decline in food quality over time. On their recent visit, they found their dinner to be "inedible" upon arriving home. Specifically, they mentioned receiving packets of teriyaki sauce for their "plain teriyaki chicken," and the chicken itself had an "odd unidentified taste." This led them to discard the chicken after just one bite. Similarly, they could only manage one bite of the chow mein noodles. This reviewer expressed deep sadness and disappointment, as Panda Express was once one of their favorite fast-food spots. They also noted that this negative experience was the third in ten months, indicating a pattern of declining quality that they had hoped would improve.

Based on these recent reviews, it is challenging to provide a uniformly positive description of the environment, services, or features of this particular Panda Express location. The feedback primarily focuses on the food quality, which seems to be a significant concern for these reviewers. There is no mention of the restaurant's decor or ambiance, so no objective assessment of the environment can be made from this information.

Regarding services, Panda Express typically operates as a fast-food restaurant, offering counter service for ordering and pickup, as well as likely having dine-in options. Online ordering and delivery through third-party services are also common for Panda Express locations, though these are not specifically mentioned in the provided reviews for this Portland branch. The negative review does not comment on the speed or efficiency of the service itself, only the quality of the food received.

The features of Panda Express as a chain generally include a standardized menu of popular American Chinese dishes, such as orange chicken, broccoli beef, and various noodle and rice options. The emphasis is usually on quick service and relatively affordable prices. However, the recent reviews for this Portland location suggest that the quality of these standard features, particularly the fried rice, teriyaki chicken, and chow mein, may be inconsistent and potentially below the expected standards for the chain. The provision of teriyaki sauce packets for plain teriyaki chicken also indicates a deviation from typical preparation or a lack of attention to detail.

There is no information provided in these reviews about any specific promotional offers or discounts currently available at this Panda Express location. As a large chain, Panda Express often has national or regional promotions, which local users might be aware of through other channels. To find out about any current specials or deals at the 1440 N Lombard St location, it would be necessary to check their official website, mobile app, or contact the store directly.

In conclusion, recent customer feedback for the Panda Express at 1440 N Lombard St in Portland, Oregon, raises concerns about the quality and consistency of their food. Multiple reports indicate issues with the fried rice being clumpy and mushy, and a significant complaint about the teriyaki chicken being plain and having an odd taste, along with inedible chow mein. One long-time customer expressed deep disappointment with a perceived decline in quality over recent months. While Panda Express is generally known as a convenient fast-food option for American Chinese cuisine, these reviews suggest that local users may want to be aware of these potential issues when considering this particular location. It might be prudent to check for more recent reviews or perhaps try other Panda Express locations in the area to compare experiences.

They can be reached at (503) 283-2723 or +1 503-283-2723 for any inquiries. Usually good food but the last couple of times the fried rice has been awful. Clumpy and mooshy like old rice that’s been microwaved. Check out the photos. Fix your fried rice, it’s so simple and easy and somehow it’s been a tasteless clump the last couple of times.

My dinner was inedible when I got home. I remember the days when my son and I would rally my parents to let us get panda express for whatever the occasion family dinner. Those days are long gone. The quality of food has drastically declined, not only was I given packets of teriyaki sauce for my plain teriyaki chicken, the chicken had an odd unidentified taste to it. I couldn't get past one bite of the chicken, and 1 bite of chow mein noodles. I am deeply saddened.. This was one of my most fav fast food spots. And last night was the 3rd time in 10 months that I knew I shouldn't go there, but yet was still in high hopes of it being like it used to be....... Well..... Nope...

The establishment was extremely busy with many customers waiting. They ran out of both rice and chow mein, and they even mixed up my order. I was specifically waiting for the sweet fire chicken that I had ordered, but I did not receive it instead I received green beans with like 4 pieces of chicken

The managers here don’t seem to know how to fill a container, they gyp you food. The other employees are absolutely spectacular! EDIT: I changed my review from a two to one star. They must pay attention to reviews, since after I reviewed it with two stars, the amount of food that I get now has gone dramatically down.
