About Panda Express

Panda Express, located at 1490 N 2nd E in Rexburg, Idaho, is a familiar name within the Chinese restaurant category, specifically in the fast-food segment. Serving the local community and visitors in the 83440 area, this branch can be contacted at (208) 356-9977 or via their mobile number +1 208-356-9977. As a well-established chain, Panda Express is known for offering a variety of American Chinese dishes served in a quick-service format, catering to both dine-in and takeout customers.

Typically, Panda Express restaurants feature a service line where customers can select their choice of entrees, sides, and appetizers, often displayed and freshly prepared. The menu commonly includes popular items such as Orange Chicken, Broccoli Beef, Kung Pao Chicken, Chow Mein, and fried rice. These dishes are usually prepared in large batches and served cafeteria-style. Panda Express aims to provide a convenient and relatively quick option for those seeking American Chinese cuisine.

Based on the available customer reviews for the Rexburg location, there are mixed experiences regarding service and portion sizes. One reviewer, who has visited the location multiple times as both a DoorDasher and a customer, notes that the food is consistently delicious and served in fairly generous portions, although perhaps not as large as at other Panda Express locations they have visited. This suggests that while the food quality is generally reliable, portion sizes might vary slightly compared to other branches.

The same reviewer also mentions feeling rushed at times during the ordering and payment process, particularly in the drive-thru. This indicates a potential area for improvement in ensuring customers feel comfortable and have adequate time to make their selections and complete their transactions without feeling pressured.

However, from the perspective of a DoorDasher, this Rexburg location receives high praise for its efficiency and helpfulness. The reviewer highlights that this is their "absolute favorite location to pickup from," emphasizing the speed and assistance provided to delivery drivers. This positive feedback suggests that the staff is generally well-organized and efficient in handling takeout orders for delivery services.

An interesting point from the Dasher's review is an instance of exceptional customer service where they were given a complimentary drink due to a slight delay in preparing the DoorDash order. The reviewer notes that this kind of positive greeting and accommodation is not an isolated incident, indicating a potential strength in their customer service approach, at least towards delivery drivers.

The reviewer provides several recommendations for the staff, including increasing portion sizes (noting that the food cost doesn't directly impact staff), smiling more to create a more welcoming atmosphere that could attract more customers, and allowing customers sufficient time to order and pay without feeling rushed. These suggestions offer valuable insights into areas where the customer experience could be enhanced.

In contrast to the positive experiences, another reviewer recounts a significantly frustrating experience with an online order. This customer arrived at the scheduled pickup time only to find that their order had not been received or acknowledged by the staff member at the counter. The lack of apology and the subsequent attitude encountered are highlighted as major issues. The customer then had to wait an additional 15 minutes in-store for their order. A seemingly simple request for chopsticks was met with a dismissive remark about it not being on the original order. This negative encounter led the customer to deem the customer service as unprofessional and unwelcoming, vowing not to return to this location.

This stark contrast in reviews suggests that the customer experience at the Panda Express in Rexburg can be inconsistent. While some, particularly delivery drivers, report positive and efficient interactions, other customers have faced issues with service attitude, order fulfillment, and feeling rushed.

Given that Panda Express is primarily a fast-food chain, the environment typically consists of a casual dining area with tables and chairs, a service counter with the food display, and a kitchen area. The focus is usually on functionality and quick turnover rather than elaborate decor or a formal dining atmosphere. The services primarily include order taking, food preparation, and serving for both dine-in and takeout customers, as well as handling online and delivery orders.

Features of Panda Express as a brand include its signature dishes like Orange Chicken, its quick-service model, and its widespread availability. Promotions often include limited-time offers on specific dishes or combinations, family meal deals, and online ordering discounts. However, specific promotional information for the Rexburg location is not available in the provided reviews.

For local users in Rexburg considering Panda Express, it would be prudent to weigh the mixed reviews. The consistency of food quality seems to be a positive aspect for some, while others have experienced issues with service and portion sizes. The efficiency for delivery drivers suggests that takeout orders placed through third-party apps might be handled smoothly. However, direct customer interactions, both in-store and potentially through the drive-thru, appear to have some inconsistencies.

In conclusion, Panda Express in Rexburg offers familiar American Chinese fast food with generally delicious quality. However, potential customers should be aware of the reported inconsistencies in service attitude, potential for feeling rushed during ordering, and the possibility of varying portion sizes compared to other locations. While some customers, especially delivery drivers, have had positive experiences, others have encountered unprofessional and unwelcoming service. Local users might want to consider these factors when deciding whether to dine at or order from this particular Panda Express location.

I’ve visited this place many, many times as a DoorDasher as well as a customer. The food is always delicious and served in fairly generous portions (not quite as generous as other locations I’ve been to) I have at times felt rushed in ordering as well as payment (especially through the drive-thru) As a Dasher, this is my absolute favorite location to pickup from. They are always very quick and helpful. As for the photo of the drink, they gave this to me complimentary due to not having the DoorDash order ready when I arrived. This isn’t the first time that I have been greeted in this way, AMAZING Customer Service. Only recommendations for staff: #1 LARGER Portion sizes (the food cost doesn’t come out of your pocket so please fill up those plates and extra sides) #2 SMILE MORE, when you act like you enjoy working more customers will come back to enjoy your food. #3 Help customers feel comfortable by giving them the time they need to order and pay.

I’ve had multiple frustrating experiences at the Panda Express in Rexburg, and this last one sealed it for me. I ordered online and was told my food would be ready by a certain time. I showed up, only to find that the woman at the counter hadn’t even received or acknowledged my order. No apology—just confusion and attitude. I waited an extra 15 minutes in-store, and when she finally handed me the bag, she asked, “Is there anything else I can grab you?” I said, “Sure, could I get some chopsticks?” Her response: “You didn’t say that on your order, but sure, here.” If that’s the kind of attitude you get for making a simple request, why ask at all? The customer service was unprofessional and unwelcoming. This isn’t the first time I’ve had issues here, but it’s definitely the last. Not worth going back.

Don’t use the drive through but go inside! People there are the best and you’ll have a better experience. Once inside you’ll see how clean everything is and get to talk to more friendly staff. Once inside you’ll be able to see all the delicious options displayed in front of you. Once inside you can eat your meal in a nice location and talk with friends, or sit down by yourself in a corner. 10/10 would recommend.

Ordered a large cheese rangoons and a plate online, the order said large rangoons, the receipt said large, the sticker they placed on the packaging says large, but they gave me a small. The price difference without tax is $7.50 so I paid 10 dollars for 3 rangoons instead of 2.50 Edit: from 3 stars to 1 star I thought I'd give them the benefit of the doubt and chalked it up to 1 simple mistake but I ordered again and it happened again, I've given panda express $15 dollars for a total of 6 rangoons. How many of the workers have a kindergarten grade reading level that they don't see it's a large order. How can they not tell the difference between 3 and 12 rangoons. Something needs to change.

It's such a toss-up on whether it's good or not and if they give you full portions. I got a bigger plate and they didn't even fill it to what a normal plate is...
