About Panda Express

Welcome to Panda Express, a familiar Chinese fast food restaurant located at 694 McCornack Rd, Schofield Barracks, HI 96857. As part of a well-known national chain, this location provides quick and convenient access to Chinese-American cuisine for those living and working on the Schofield Barracks military base. You can reach us at (808) 744-0143 or our mobile number, +1 808-744-0143, for any inquiries about our menu and services.

As a Chinese fast food establishment, Panda Express offers a standardized menu that includes popular dishes such as orange chicken, beef broccoli, chow mein, fried rice, spring rolls, and Rangoon. The focus is on providing quick service and consistent flavors that customers have come to expect from the brand. However, individual experiences can vary based on specific location management and daily operations.

Recent customer feedback for the Panda Express at Schofield Barracks presents a mixed but generally positive outlook. One recurring theme in the reviews is the perceived quality of certain dishes compared to others. For instance, one customer mentioned that while they tend to avoid the rice due to personal preference regarding its texture, they find the chow mein to be consistently great. The orange chicken is also highlighted as being usually cooked recently, suggesting freshness. Beef broccoli, Rangoon, and spring rolls are also listed as enjoyable options by this reviewer.

This same customer expressed a preference to avoid the chicken teriyaki at all Panda Express locations, citing a peculiar texture in the thighs and a sauce they do not favor. This is noted as a personal preference and a general issue with the Panda Express version of this dish, rather than a specific problem with the Schofield Barracks location.

A significant positive aspect mentioned in the reviews is the generosity of the portions at this particular Panda Express. One customer specifically stated that the Schofield Barracks location consistently provides more generous portions compared to other Panda Express restaurants they have visited. This could be a key factor for customers looking for good value for their money and a satisfying amount of food.

However, not all experiences have been entirely positive. One customer who ordered a bowl with white rice described its texture as strange. They also mentioned receiving only three pieces of honey walnut shrimp in their order and just one tiny packet of soy sauce when requested. This individual, who used to enjoy this Panda Express location, expressed disappointment with this recent experience and indicated that they would likely seek dining options off-base in the future.

The environment of this Panda Express location is not explicitly detailed in the provided reviews. However, as a fast food establishment on a military base, it likely offers a casual and convenient setting for service members and their families to grab a quick meal. The focus tends to be more on efficiency and accessibility rather than elaborate ambiance.

In terms of services, Panda Express at Schofield Barracks primarily offers counter service for dine-in and takeout orders. Given its location on a military base, it likely caters heavily to those with limited time or needing a quick meal option. Online ordering and mobile app services, common for Panda Express locations, are also likely available, though not specifically mentioned in the reviews. The positive feedback regarding generous portions suggests a service-oriented approach by the staff at this location.

Key features of Panda Express include its standardized menu of Chinese-American fast food favorites. The Schofield Barracks location appears to maintain these core offerings, with some dishes receiving more positive feedback than others from regular customers. The consistently generous portion sizes, as noted by one reviewer, could be considered a distinctive feature of this particular branch.

As a national chain, Panda Express often has promotional offers and limited-time menu items. However, the provided reviews do not mention any specific promotions currently running at the Schofield Barracks location. Local users interested in deals or special offers should check the official Panda Express website or app, or inquire directly at the restaurant.

For those living or working on Schofield Barracks, the Panda Express located on base offers a convenient option for Chinese fast food. The positive feedback regarding the quality of the chow mein, orange chicken, beef broccoli, Rangoon, and spring rolls, along with the generous portion sizes, suggests that many customers have satisfactory experiences here. However, the reported issues with the rice texture and the quantity of shrimp and condiments in one instance indicate that consistency might occasionally vary.

Local users might find it helpful to try the dishes that have received positive mentions in the reviews, such as the chow mein and orange chicken. If generous portions are a priority, this location seems to deliver on that front for some customers. However, those with specific preferences regarding rice or portion expectations for certain items might want to be mindful of the more critical feedback.

In conclusion, Panda Express at Schofield Barracks provides a familiar menu of Chinese-American fast food in a convenient on-base location. While customer experiences vary, there are positive mentions of specific dishes and generous portion sizes. Local users seeking a quick and accessible meal option may find this Panda Express to be a suitable choice, but it's always wise to consider the full spectrum of recent feedback.

Always hit the spot. I tend to stay away from the rice it's not good to me, but the chow mein a great. Orange Chicken is usually cooked pretty recently, and beef broccoli is very good. Rangoon and spring rolls are as well. I stay away from the chicken teriyaki because the thighs always seem to have a weird texture, and the sauce sucks(just a Panda Express problem and just a personal preference) They are always nice and give more generous portions than other locations usually.

Got the bowl with white rice which was a strange texture and the honey walnut shrimp which she gave me 3 pieces. I asked for soy sauce and got one tiny packet. Use to love this place but it’s a no for me going forward I’ll eat off base thank you

Standard Panda experience. Happy to finally have one on base instead of having to drive out to Wahiawa and back to get my fix!

I’ve never been to a more terrible Panda Express. There is one particular older employee who is rude and we’ve had multiple interactions with her. The food is usually good, the only downside is they usually do not have much food already cooked so you either wait or leave, which is super disappointing. It’s worth driving to Wahiawa for the better experience.

Salt overdose to the nth degree. I eat at various other Pandas across the island (including other military like NEX and Hickam) for many many years, but this particular location drowns the entrees and the veggies with such overdose of salt it it not only results in a deadly sodium intake but the flavor of healthy fresh veggies is completely gone. This issue ongoing since their grand opening (not to mention many of their staff I’ve watched cleaning the floors etc with gloves during a short or absent customer waiting line, then immediately serving your food when you walk up with the same gloves on from cleaning) Wow! This all keeps me away now and that’s hard given I normally enjoy their consistent meals at Panda..
