About Panda Express
Panda Express, situated at 1800 I-35 in Gainesville, Texas, serves as a local option for those seeking Chinese fast food. As a well-known chain within the Chinese Restaurant category, Panda Express typically offers a variety of familiar dishes in a quick-service setting. This location in Gainesville provides both a drive-thru and presumably an in-restaurant dining area, catering to customers looking for convenient meal solutions.
Panda Express restaurants generally feature a standardized menu that includes popular American Chinese dishes. Customers can usually expect to find a selection of entrees, such as Orange Chicken, Kung Pao Chicken, Broccoli Beef, and various chow mein and fried rice options. The format typically involves choosing a base (like rice or noodles) and then selecting one or more entrees to create a personalized meal. Appetizers and beverages are also commonly available. However, specific menu details for the Gainesville location are not provided in the given information.
The available customer reviews for the Panda Express in Gainesville paint a picture of potential service-related challenges. One reviewer described a significant wait time in the drive-thru, totaling approximately 15 minutes. This customer also noted a recurring issue of slow service at this particular location. On this occasion, they reported waiting an additional eight minutes at the window before receiving any acknowledgment from staff. During this wait, the reviewer observed several employees inside the restaurant who appeared to be engaged in non-customer-related activities, including using phones and standing idle, while no customers were waiting inside.
Another customer shared a particularly negative experience involving an attempt to order the honey walnut shrimp. This customer was informed via the drive-thru that the item was unavailable due to the approaching closing time, and that no more could be prepared. Subsequently, at the window, they were asked to park so that the kitchen could prepare the firecracker steak and shrimp. The customer found this inconsistent, questioning why one dish could be made but not the other. When they inquired again about the honey walnut shrimp, they reported being told rudely that it was too close to closing to prepare it. After waiting an additional 15 minutes for their order, they discovered upon arriving home that the order was incorrect, with one plate ordered as a half 'n half containing only noodles, and another plate, also ordered with only noodles, being correct. Attempts to contact the restaurant by phone to address the incorrect order were unsuccessful. This reviewer indicated a history of issues at this location and expressed significant dissatisfaction with this particular experience.
Based on these reviews, it is difficult to provide a comprehensive overview of the restaurant's environment. The mention of a drive-thru suggests that the location prioritizes speed and convenience for on-the-go customers. The interior environment is not described in the feedback, but as a chain restaurant, Panda Express typically maintains a consistent, brightly lit, and casual dining space designed for efficient service. Customers usually order at a counter and can either take their food to go or eat in a designated seating area.
In terms of services, the Gainesville Panda Express offers a drive-thru for quick and convenient ordering. They also likely provide over-the-counter service for walk-in customers who wish to place their orders inside and potentially dine in. The negative review involving a large order (though not specifically from this location, it highlights a service aspect of Panda Express in general) suggests they can handle larger orders, but the experience at the Gainesville location indicates potential issues with order accuracy and labeling in such cases. The failed attempt to contact the restaurant by phone in the second review raises concerns about their responsiveness to customer issues after the point of sale.
Regarding features, Panda Express is generally known for its fast service model and its menu of American Chinese cuisine, often featuring dishes with signature sauces. The honey walnut shrimp and the firecracker steak and shrimp mentioned in the negative review are examples of specific entrees that are part of their regular offerings. However, the inconsistent availability of the honey walnut shrimp near closing time, as reported, could be a point of concern for customers with specific preferences. The positive mention of the "amazing taste" of the chicken wings (though this review is from a different Panda Express location) suggests that certain items on the menu are well-regarded for their flavor.
No specific promotional information for the Gainesville Panda Express is included in the provided text. Panda Express as a chain often runs national or regional promotions, which might include limited-time offers on specific dishes, family meal deals, or discounts through their mobile app or online ordering platforms. Local users interested in any promotions at the Gainesville location would need to check the Panda Express website or app, or inquire directly with the store.
In conclusion, the Panda Express located at 1800 I-35 in Gainesville, TX, offers Chinese fast food with a drive-thru option. While one review from a different location praised the taste of their chicken wings, the reviews specific to this Gainesville location raise concerns about slow drive-thru service, extended wait times at the window, inconsistent food availability close to closing, and issues with order accuracy. The negative experience with the incorrect order and the lack of phone response are significant points of consideration for potential customers. Local users may want to factor these recent experiences into their decision when choosing a Chinese restaurant in the Gainesville area.

Waited in the drive through line for about 15 minutes total. Every time we come to this location they are SLOW. This time we sat for about 8 minutes at the window before being acknowledged. During that time we could see there was no one inside waiting to be helped, there was an employee walking around with his drink, 2 employees on their phones, and one standing at the cash register.
Horrible, Horrible, Horrible!!! The guy working the drive-thru said they were out of honey walnut shrimp so we offered to wait for it, he said it was to close to closing & they couldn't make anymore. We get to the window & they ask us to park because they are having to make the firecracker steak & shrimp. I found it strange they could make one but not the other & asked about getting the honey walnut shrimp & the guy rudely told me again it's to close to closing. We proceed to wait around 15 minutes for our food then get home & the order is WRONG. They plate with half 'n half only has noodles. The other plate also only had noodles (as ordered). We try to call the restaurant back with no answer. We've had issues here before but this was ridiculous. Get it together guys. At 8 pm, there is no way you are doing cooking for the day unless you aren't serving fresh food
We both ordered plates (two entries). And it was too much food to eat. The lunch rush had just ended and the staff was out making everything tidy.
I HIGHLY recommend driving the extra 13 mins or so to the casino. The orange chicken is terrible. Half of it is literally cold. As if it's been sitting on the counter all day and the other half is lightly warm. The chow mein is up there with some of the worst I've had at a panda. Roughly half of it is not even noodles, it's old lettuce. Looks and tastes like old lettuce. Do yourself a favor and take a little drive to the casino. You can thank me later. This panda is under 3 stars for a reason.
This was a typical Panda Express. The food was good and the restaurant clean. The staff were friendly and attentive.
