About Panda Express

Located in Newark, New Jersey, at 60 Halsey St, Panda Express is a recent addition to the local "Chinese Restaurant" scene, specifically within the fast-casual dining segment. As a well-known national chain, Panda Express offers a variety of American Chinese dishes served in a quick and convenient format. This new outlet aims to cater to the local community, including students and residents in the vicinity of its Halsey Street location. While it benefits from the established brand recognition of Panda Express, initial customer reviews suggest a mixed reception regarding the food quality at this particular branch, alongside positive feedback about its staff.

The Panda Express in Newark can be contacted by phone at (862) 412-8189 or via their mobile number, +1 862-412-8189. These contact details are useful for inquiries about their menu, operating hours, and potentially for placing large orders or catering requests, although Panda Express is primarily known for its walk-up service and quick order fulfillment.

One of the initial reviews provides a somewhat disappointing experience. A customer who usually enjoys Panda Express and was excited about this newly opened outlet, due to its proximity to their school and home, ordered familiar items: veggie spring rolls and a bowl containing noodles, fried rice, and black pepper chicken. While they had enjoyed these dishes at other Panda Express locations, their experience at this new Newark branch was negative. They described the noodles as "so bland and chewy," the rice as "okay," and the chicken as tasting "so weird" to the point where they could not finish it, leading to overall disappointment. This review highlights a potential inconsistency in food quality or preparation at this specific new location compared to the customer's past experiences with the chain.

In contrast, another customer review offers a much more positive assessment. They stated that "The Food Is amazing" and specifically praised the team as being "very Knowledgeable and attentive." They also recommended specific dishes, "Honey walnuts Shrimp and Broccoli beef is delicious highly recommend!" This review suggests that some of the offerings at this Newark Panda Express are indeed well-received, and the staff is making a positive impression with their knowledge and attentiveness. The stark contrast between these two reviews indicates a potentially variable experience for customers at this new location.

Considering the environment of this Panda Express, as a newly opened outlet of a national chain, it likely features the standard Panda Express design and layout. This typically includes a serving counter with various dishes displayed in warming trays, a designated area for ordering and payment, and a seating area for customers who wish to dine in. The ambiance is usually bright, clean, and functional, geared towards quick service and a casual dining experience. Being a new establishment, it is expected to be well-maintained and adhere to the brand's standards of cleanliness and efficiency.

The services offered by Panda Express primarily revolve around quick-service dining and takeout. Customers typically order at the counter, select their dishes, and pay before either dining in or taking their food to go. The menu features a variety of entrees, sides, and appetizers, allowing for customizable bowl and plate combinations. Online ordering and delivery through third-party services are also common features of Panda Express locations, providing added convenience for customers. Given that this is a new outlet, it is likely to offer these standard services to cater to the local demand for quick and convenient Chinese-American food.

A key feature of Panda Express as a brand is its consistent menu offerings across different locations, including popular dishes like Orange Chicken, Kung Pao Chicken, and Chow Mein. However, the first review suggests that the execution of these familiar dishes might vary at this new Newark location. The second review points to the Honey Walnut Shrimp and Broccoli Beef as particularly delicious, indicating potential highlights on their menu at this branch. The "knowledgeable and attentive" team, as mentioned in the positive review, could also be considered a significant feature, contributing to a positive customer service experience even if the food quality is perceived differently by some.

As a national chain, Panda Express often has promotional offers, which can vary by location and time. These might include limited-time menu items, discounts on certain combinations, or family meal deals. To obtain specific promotional information for the Newark Halsey Street location, it would be best to check their in-store signage, their official website (if they have a dedicated page for this location), or any third-party delivery apps they might partner with. Given that it is a new opening, they might have special introductory offers to attract local customers.

In conclusion, the Panda Express at 60 Halsey St in Newark, NJ, presents a somewhat nuanced picture based on initial customer feedback. While one reviewer experienced issues with the quality of familiar dishes like the noodles, rice, and black pepper chicken, another praised the amazing food, particularly the Honey Walnut Shrimp and Broccoli Beef, and highlighted the knowledgeable and attentive team. This suggests that the experience at this new location might be inconsistent or that individual preferences play a significant role. As a newly opened outlet of a well-known fast-casual chain, it likely offers a clean and efficient environment with standard Panda Express services such as quick counter service, takeout, and potential online ordering and delivery. Local users might want to try a variety of dishes to form their own opinion, and the positive remarks about the staff suggest a welcoming service experience. Checking for any grand opening specials or ongoing promotions could also enhance the value of a visit to this new Panda Express location in Newark.

I usually like Panda Express and this outlet newly opened up! It is very close to my school and home so I finally ordered veggie spring rolls and a bowl with noodles, fried rice, and black pepper chicken. I've had the same items before so I know they taste good. But these were just not good. The noodles felt so bland and chewy, the rice was okay and the chicken tasted so weird. I couldn't finish it and now I'm just disappointed :(

Less than a month open and there’s already instances of food contamination. Nothing kills an appetite faster than finding hair in your food.

I ordered through Uber eats. I ordered 2 diet coke and got dr pepper. The black pepper steak was overcooked/burnt. The broccoli and beef had no meat in it. The rice was crunchy, possibly undercooked.
