About Panda Express
Welcome to Panda Express, a well-known establishment in the Chinese Restaurant category, situated at 3238 Guadalcanal Rd Bldg 18 in Coronado, California. As a popular chain, Panda Express provides a range of American Chinese cuisine to local users, offering both the convenience of takeout and the option to dine in. This particular location in Coronado aims to serve the community with familiar flavors and quick service.
The environment of this Panda Express on Guadalcanal Rd in Coronado likely reflects the standard design of Panda Express restaurants nationwide. Customers can anticipate a brightly lit and efficient space with a service counter displaying the various food options and a designated dining area for those choosing to eat on-site. The focus is typically on a casual and family-friendly atmosphere, catering to individuals looking for a quick and accessible meal.
Services at this Panda Express likely include both takeout and dine-in options. Customers can place their orders at the counter to eat within the restaurant or to take their food to go. The availability of phone numbers, (619) 753-9216 and +1 619-753-9216, suggests that phone orders for pickup may also be accommodated, providing added convenience for local residents. While delivery services are not explicitly mentioned in the provided reviews, it is possible that this location partners with third-party delivery platforms, a common practice for many chain restaurants today. Local users may want to check with the restaurant directly or their preferred delivery apps to confirm this service.
Panda Express is recognized for its menu of Americanized Chinese dishes, with popular items such as the Original Orange Chicken, Broccoli Beef, and a variety of chow mein and fried rice options. The reviews for this specific Coronado location mention chow mein and orange chicken, indicating that these are part of their offerings. Stir-fry entrees are also mentioned, suggesting a selection of vegetable and protein combinations. While Panda Express markets itself as a Chinese restaurant, some customers note that the cuisine is more accurately described as American food adapted to Chinese flavors.
To provide an objective assessment of this Panda Express in Coronado, it is essential to analyze the recent customer feedback. The two provided reviews express concerns regarding food quality and portion sizes. One reviewer stated that within the past few months, the portion sizes had decreased by approximately a third, while the chow mein had become greasier. They also noted an increase in the amount of onion and fillers in the stir-fry entrees and that the batter on the orange chicken was significantly thicker than the chicken itself. This feedback suggests a potential decline in the value and quality of the food at this location.
The same reviewer also mentioned the absence of Panda Rewards at this location, which, combined with a perceived "guaranteed customer base," led to a feeling of a "one-sided affair." This indicates a dissatisfaction with the value proposition, especially in the absence of a loyalty program. The reviewer urged the restaurant to "go back to the drawing board and fix it," suggesting a significant level of disappointment.
The second review echoed concerns about food quality, stating that the food was "okay at best" and not very hot, feeling as if it had been sitting out since opening. This customer also expressed a sentiment that Panda Express used to be better, attributing the current state not to the staff but to the recipes lacking good spices for a truly tasty flavor. This review reinforces the idea that the food may not meet the expectations of some customers who remember a different standard from the chain.
Neither of the provided reviews mentions any specific promotional offers or discounts at this Panda Express location in Coronado. As a large chain, Panda Express often runs national promotions, which would likely be applicable here. Local users interested in potential deals or special offers should check the official Panda Express website or app, or inquire at the restaurant directly. Common promotions might include family meal deals, online ordering discounts, or limited-time menu items.
In conclusion, the Panda Express located at 3238 Guadalcanal Rd in Coronado offers American Chinese cuisine for both dine-in and takeout. However, recent customer reviews raise concerns about decreasing portion sizes, increased greasiness in some dishes like chow mein, a higher ratio of batter to chicken in the orange chicken, and an overall decline in food quality, with some dishes being served lukewarm and tasting as if they had been sitting out. The absence of a rewards program at this location was also noted as a point of dissatisfaction. While Panda Express is a well-known chain, these reviews suggest that local users may want to be aware of these recent experiences when considering this particular location. To inquire about any current promotions or to provide feedback, customers can contact the restaurant directly using the provided phone numbers.

Within the past few months, the portions have decreased by a third and the chow mein is greaser than ever. Lots of onion and fillers in the stir fry entrees. The orange chicken batter is 3x thicker than the chicken inside. Since there's no Panda Rewards here and pretty much a guaranteed customer base, it's beginning to feel like a one-sided affair. Go back to the drawing board and fix it.
Decent food I wouldn’t say Chinese food cause it’s not Chinese it’s American food thought to be Chinese but not, it was okay at best food wasn’t really hot just warm and felt like I got whatever sat out since they opened. I dunno if it’s nostalgia kicking in but I feel like Panda used to be way better than it is now, no fault to the people that work there just the recipe have no good spices in them to make it really tasty
Every time I come to this place, they are out of something. As far as panda expresses go, I’d say this is one of the worst I’ve been to
Awesomeness!! The phone answer was impressive. I opted to visit and spoke with manger. She upsold me catering for 170.00 and it was plenty for 22 men. We loved the varieties of beef broccoli , t chicken , orange , veggies, and noodles and rice. Items were on time and was hot and fresh. I was greatly impressed.
Like most Panda Express restaurants. Food is good and fresh, However, depending on the hour you go, they maybe out of certain items and you may need to wait. Servers try hard but employees can be overwhelmed with rush hour traffic.
