About Panda Express
Located at 10417 Gravelly Lake Dr SW H, Lakewood, WA 98499, USA, this particular Panda Express location serves as a popular and accessible option for Chinese-American fast food. With a phone number of (253) 589-3368 and a mobile contact of +1 253-589-3368, it offers convenient service for quick meals on the go, whether for dine-in or takeout.
As a prominent establishment within the "Chinese Restaurant" category, Panda Express is well-known for its fast-casual dining model. This approach emphasizes speed, affordability, and a customizable menu, allowing customers to select from a variety of pre-prepared entrees and sides displayed in a hot bar. This style is particularly appealing to individuals and families seeking a quick and convenient meal without the wait of a traditional sit-down restaurant. The menu typically features a range of popular Chinese-American dishes, such as Orange Chicken, Beijing Beef, Broccoli Beef, Kung Pao Chicken, Chow Mein, and Fried Rice. The self-service style, where customers choose their desired items, provides a degree of personalization for their meal.
The environment at Panda Express typically reflects a modern and functional fast-casual setting. These restaurants are designed for efficiency, often featuring a bright and clean aesthetic with an open kitchen concept where customers can see the food being prepared and served. The seating arrangements are usually practical, accommodating both solo diners and small groups. However, the provided reviews indicate that despite the brand's general standards, the actual customer experience at this specific location can be impacted. While the physical space might be consistent with other Panda Express outlets, the atmosphere can be influenced by the service dynamics, as suggested by the reviews.
The service at this particular Panda Express location has been a significant point of concern for some customers, as highlighted in the provided reviews. One detailed account describes staff members being "too busy talking to each other about an online order to even say 'Hi, we'll be right with you' or smile at least to acknowledge the customers waiting in line." This suggests a lack of initial acknowledgment and a less-than-welcoming approach. Further issues included staff appearing "in a hurry & sounded so rude" and leaving a customer's order unfinished for another staff member to complete, leading to extended waiting times and cold food. Such instances indicate a need for improved customer engagement, communication, and overall efficiency during busy periods to ensure a consistently positive service experience. The review explicitly names staff members, "NOAH AND SAM, PLS DO BETTER!", emphasizing the direct impact of individual service on customer satisfaction.
The features of the food at this Panda Express location, based on the provided reviews, present a mixed picture. While Panda Express is generally known for its popular and accessible Chinese-American dishes, specific experiences here have raised concerns. One customer found the "chow mein wasn't cooked," the "rice wasn't cooked either," and the "honey walnut shrimp tasted funny." Another experienced issues with the "beef and broccoli" having "very little broccoli" and the "honey walnut shrimp" serving consisting of only "6 pieces" for the price paid, alongside concerns about the food being "cold due to the waiting time." These specific critiques suggest potential inconsistencies in food preparation, portion control, and temperature maintenance. Conversely, the popularity of dishes like Orange Chicken and Honey Walnut Shrimp at other Panda Express locations often stems from their sweet, savory, and generally appealing flavor profiles. The fast-casual model aims to provide quick and convenient meals, but the reviews indicate that at this location, challenges with consistency and quality control may detract from the intended experience.
Regarding promotional information, specific details about current promotions at this particular Panda Express location are not available from the provided customer reviews. However, as a large national chain, Panda Express regularly offers various promotions and deals across its locations. These commonly include:
- Family Meals: Bundled options designed to feed multiple people at a value price.
- Limited-Time Offers (LTOs): Introducing new or seasonal dishes for a short period to create buzz.
- Online Order Exclusives: Discounts or special items available only through their website or mobile app.
- Loyalty Programs: Rewards points for repeat purchases, often redeemable for free food.
- Combo Deals: Special pricing for combinations of entrees and sides.
- Seasonal Promotions: Offers tied to holidays or specific times of the year.
While the reviews highlight issues with service and food quality, the brand's overall marketing efforts and consistent presence in various communities mean that these promotions are usually communicated via in-store signage, their official website, mobile app, and social media channels. Customers interested in current deals should check these official sources or inquire directly at the counter. The fast-casual nature of Panda Express also means that the inherent value of quick, customizable meals at a relatively affordable price point is a constant draw for many diners, irrespective of specific temporary promotions.
In conclusion, Panda Express at 10417 Gravelly Lake Dr SW H, Lakewood, WA, offers a convenient and accessible option for Chinese-American fast food. While the brand is generally known for its popular dishes and efficient service, this specific location has received critical feedback regarding customer service, food temperature, portion consistency, and preparation quality. Potential patrons should be aware of these reported inconsistencies. Despite these challenges, its convenient location and the widespread familiarity with the Panda Express brand mean it remains a readily available choice for a quick meal, particularly for those seeking the specific taste of its signature dishes. It is recommended that management address the feedback to enhance the overall customer experience at this branch.

Customer Reviews
If I could put 0 for service, I would!!! Sam and Noah were too busy talking to each other about an online order to even say "Hi, we'll be right with you" or smile at least to acknowledge the customers waiting in line. If I remember the name correctly, Bailey (other staff, not really 100% sure about her name) was busy helping the customer in front of me with multiple orders, and these two didn’t care to help out until about few minutes later. When Sam was finally making my food order, she seemed to be in a hurry & sounded so rude and Bailey was still helping the customer in front of me, Sam decided to just leave my food on the counter to let Bailey finish MY order. This took another 5 minutes of waiting. Then, when Bailey was about to put the beef and broccoli on my plate, I had to wait even longer because apparently, the beef and broccoli "wasn't enough," so she asked the kitchen staff to make more. Then, Noah came over and told Bailey, "Put the beef and broccoli, it's enough for one serving." I ended up with most of the meat but very little broccoli, because, as Bailey had mentioned, "there's not much left," but Noah had a different opinion. My food ended up being cold due to the waiting time, and for the price I paid, I received 6 pieces of honey walnut shrimp and beef and broccoli with almost no broccoli. NOAH AND SAM, PLS DO BETTER!
The worst panda I ever had Chow mein wasnt cooked the rice wasnt cooked the honey walnut shrimp tasted funny The girl didnt know what to do when I told her the chow mein wasnt cooked so she offered to give me rice I said ok I brought it home only to find out the rice wasnt cooked either Im quiting panda for a while
At lunchtime (around noon), over half of the food trays were still empty. Two staff (one cook and one cashier) were busy helping customers. Two others can be seen standing in a nearby room, looking at a computer screen, likely working on their schedules. A long line of customers was formed and still only 2 staff were working. The other two seemed not bothered by the long line at all. The cashier (only one helping customers) was very helpful though. Since one of the dishes I ordered was not available (empty tray), I had to wait for over 15 minutes just for that dish. The rest of my food (noodle and two dishes) were getting cold. Poor management. Lunch time is not the best time to work on your scheduling issues. Making sure you have increased sales, and that is your priority. Lunch time, please make sure your trays are full and ready for your customers.
We might not be back, our food order was half filled waiting on the other half to be filled even though the food was right there waiting to be put in. We have to wait because someone filled an order that was after us first. And before you say it was an online order we suggested that it may have been that and your cashier said no. There was no one else in front of us. Meanwhile the first half of our food (shrimp) is getting cold. We told by the cashier we don’t have a right to complain! Date 03/072025 @ 4:31pm Andrea is the cashier. I am the customer, I have every right to complain! After we finally get our order the order that got filled before us was still sitting there 😕 not happy at all !!!!!
I love panda! But some of the workers there have attitude. One girl named EDITH clearly was giving attitude to the customer in front of me. Its like she’s waiting to hurry up and be off from work. She also threw the the whole tongs in the noodles. THIS HERE AUTOMATICALLY will definitely make the food spoiled real quick! Esp noodles!!!
