About Panda Express
Located within the bustling Galleria at Tyler at 1299 Galleria at Tyler FC10 in Riverside, CA, Panda Express serves as a familiar presence in the Chinese Restaurant platform category. This category encompasses a wide spectrum of dining establishments, from sit-down restaurants offering elaborate menus to fast-food chains providing quick and convenient meals. Panda Express, in particular, operates as a fast-casual restaurant chain specializing in American-Chinese cuisine, known for its efficient service and a menu featuring popular dishes.
Chinese fast-casual restaurants like Panda Express cater to individuals and families seeking a quick and affordable meal, often while shopping or on the go. These establishments typically offer a selection of pre-prepared dishes displayed in a serving line, allowing customers to choose their entrees and sides for a fixed price, often in the form of plates or bowls. The focus is on speed and convenience without sacrificing flavor and variety.
The customer reviews for this specific Panda Express location at Galleria at Tyler present contrasting experiences. One reviewer explicitly addressed previous negative reviews suggesting skimpy portions and overpriced food, stating that their own experience was quite different. This suggests a potential inconsistency in past experiences or perhaps improvements in the restaurant's practices.
This positive review highlighted several key aspects of their visit. Firstly, they commended the employees for being "friendly and helpful." Despite it being a busy Saturday night, the staff reportedly handled orders accurately and served customers with smiles, indicating a positive and efficient service environment even during peak hours. This is a significant factor in the overall dining experience, especially in a fast-paced setting like a mall food court.
Regarding the food, the reviewer ordered a plate with two entrees (mushroom chicken and teriyaki chicken) and one side. They noted that the server was generous with the portions, "piling on" the mushroom chicken and providing "two full teriyaki chicken filets." Their guest ordered a "Cub Meal," which was also reported to be filled up completely. Both meals were described as "steaming hot and fresh," which are crucial indicators of food quality and proper handling. The reviewer specifically praised the orange chicken for being "especially tender with a nice crispy exterior," suggesting that some of their signature dishes are well-executed.
Adding to the positive experience, Panda Express at this location offered a new dessert item, an "apple pie roll." This innovative dessert was described as similar to an egg roll but filled with apple pie filling instead of traditional savory ingredients. The reviewer found this to be a pleasant surprise, contributing to an overall experience that was "better than expected." Furthermore, the total cost for dinner for two was $22, which the reviewer considered "comparable or cheaper than burgers," highlighting the affordability and value offered, especially within the context of a mall food court where prices can sometimes be higher.
The reviewer also provided context regarding the dining options at Galleria at Tyler, noting that the mall does not have a large selection of restaurants and that they had previous negative experiences at other establishments. This context further emphasizes the positive experience they had at this Panda Express, leading them to "enthusiastically recommend" it as a reliable option within the mall's food offerings.
However, the second review presents a starkly contrasting experience, indicating significant dissatisfaction with this same Panda Express location. This reviewer reported receiving an incomplete entree meal, stating that the employee making their food "didn't even give me a full entree meal" despite paying full price. They further elaborated that the portion size was minimal, with the employee hardly putting any food in their box. This directly contradicts the positive reviewer's experience with generous portions.
Adding to their negative experience, this dissatisfied customer also reported an issue with the cashier, who allegedly allowed another customer to cut in front of them in a long line to purchase a drink. This indicates a potential lapse in fairness and customer service. The reviewer also described the mall environment as "crowded" and the line as "disgustingly difficult to get through," although this speaks more to the mall's layout and traffic than solely to the restaurant itself.
Considering these two reviews, the environment of this Panda Express is likely typical of a food court restaurant within a busy shopping mall. It would be characterized by a casual and often crowded setting, with a focus on quick service and high turnover. Seating would likely be communal and shared with other food vendors in the food court area. The noise level could be high, especially during peak shopping hours.
In terms of services, Panda Express primarily offers counter service for ordering and picking up food. Customers select their desired entrees and sides as they move along the serving line, and the food is then assembled into plates or bowls. Takeout service is also a standard offering. The positive review highlighted friendly and helpful employees who were efficient even during busy times. However, the negative review pointed to issues with portion control and cashier service, suggesting potential inconsistencies in service quality.
Features of Panda Express generally include a standardized menu of popular American-Chinese dishes, combo meals offering a choice of entrees and sides at a set price, and a focus on quick preparation and service. The availability of a new dessert item, the apple pie roll, indicates some level of menu innovation and seasonal offerings. The affordability mentioned in the positive review suggests that Panda Express aims to provide a cost-effective meal option, particularly when compared to other dining choices within the mall.
Currently, the provided reviews do not contain any specific promotional information for this Panda Express location. Panda Express as a chain frequently offers limited-time promotions, new menu items, and online ordering deals. To find out about any current promotions at the Galleria at Tyler location, local users should check the official Panda Express website or app, or inquire directly at the restaurant. Mall-specific promotions might also be advertised within the Galleria at Tyler.
In conclusion, the Panda Express located within the Galleria at Tyler in Riverside, CA, offers a convenient option for those seeking a quick and affordable American-Chinese meal while shopping at the mall. Customer experiences appear to vary, with one reviewer praising the friendly service, generous portions, fresh food, and reasonable prices, even recommending it over other mall dining options. However, another reviewer reported significant dissatisfaction with receiving an incomplete meal and experiencing poor cashier service. This suggests that while some customers have positive experiences, there might be inconsistencies in food portioning and service quality at this location. Local users considering this Panda Express should be aware of these differing perspectives and might want to visit during less busy times to potentially receive better service and attention to their order. Checking for any ongoing promotions online or in-store could also enhance the value of their meal.

Customer Reviews
The other reviews said that this Panda Express skimps on the food and is overpriced, but that was not my experience at all. First, the employees were all friendly and helpful. Even though it was a busy Saturday night, they got the order right and served us with smiles. I got a plate (two entrees/one side), and the server piled on the mushroom chicken and gave me two full teriyaki chicken filets. My other guest ordered the Cub Meal, and they filled up the box all the way. Everything was steaming hot and fresh. The orange chicken was especially tender with a nice crispy exterior. They also had a new dessert, an apple pie roll, that was like an egg roll but had pie filling instead of veggies or meat. Everything was better than expected. Also, dinner for two only cost $22, which is comparable or cheaper than burgers. This mall does not have a large selection of restaurants, and we have had bad experiences at some of the other restaurants, so I enthusiastically recommend this Panda Express.
I am so dissatisfied with this location. To start, the lady making my food didn't even give me a full entree meal. So I paid full price and didn't even get all of what I was supposed to get. She hardly put any food in my box. Not only that, the cashier let a lady cut in front of me to buy a drink. The line was long and disgustingly difficult to get through in the crowded ass mall.
I have to get this off my chest, but this is by far the best Panda Express in town. Everytime I go the food is fresh, the service is fast, and the food is BOMB. I swear there’s this same lady who’s been working there for years and let me just say, she knows how to run a kitchen. I think the fact that this Panda Express has outlived most of, if not ALL of the other dining options in the food court should speak for itself. Tyler mall Panda Express, I rock with ya’ll keep up the good work
Update: can no longer eat here. Orange Beyond chiken bogo! No cluck and all the flavor 😋
Food is amazing! I have no idea what other people are talking about. Go right when they open if you want hot, freshly made food. I always go here if I need to grab lunch while I'm at work. Service is fast, it's just that sometimes the people standing in line take way too long to pick their menu and way too long to pay for their food.
