About Panda Express
Panda Express, situated at 7007 Friars Rd, San Diego, CA 92108, USA, is a well-known establishment in the Chinese Restaurant category, offering a familiar range of Chinese-American cuisine. Easily reachable by phone at (619) 542-0915 or their mobile number +1 619-542-0915, this location provides a convenient option for local users seeking a quick and accessible Chinese meal.
Based on recent customer feedback, Panda Express on Friars Road appears to be a suitable choice for those looking for a fast and affordable meal. One customer who visited for Sunday dinner around 7:30 pm noted that the restaurant was not busy for a walk-in. They ordered their usual combination of noodles and orange chicken, describing it as "okay, not that fresh, but okay." This suggests a standard level of quality that might be expected from a fast-food chain, where freshness might vary depending on the time of day and demand.
The same reviewer also commented on the seating arrangement, mentioning that it is located outside and shared with other food places in the vicinity. They found it to be "pretty cold" during their evening visit and advised against dining in if the weather is a concern. This indicates that the primary focus of this location might be geared towards takeout or a very casual outdoor dining experience, with the comfort of the seating potentially being less of a priority, especially during colder times of the year.
Another customer highlighted the affordability of Panda Express, particularly when opting for side dishes. They mentioned being hungry but not wanting to spend around $15 for a full meal, so they ordered a side of lo mein for approximately $5. They found this portion to be sufficient to fill them up and described the taste as "decent." This positive experience with a more budget-friendly option suggests that Panda Express can cater to individuals looking for a more economical meal. The reviewer also expressed a willingness to return and try other items on the menu, indicating a satisfactory initial experience despite opting for a smaller, less expensive choice.
In terms of environment, the feedback suggests a functional but perhaps not particularly comfortable dine-in setting. The outdoor seating, shared with other establishments, implies a casual and potentially exposed dining area. Local users seeking a cozy or intimate dine-in experience might find this location less appealing, especially during unfavorable weather conditions. However, for those prioritizing convenience and a quick bite, the outdoor seating serves its purpose.
The services offered at this Panda Express location likely include walk-in ordering, takeout, and potentially online ordering or delivery through third-party services, although these were not explicitly mentioned in the provided reviews. The quick service implied by the "not busy" comment during a typical dinner time suggests that customers can expect a relatively fast turnaround for their orders, which is characteristic of fast-food establishments.
Features of Panda Express as a chain generally include a standardized menu with popular Chinese-American dishes like orange chicken, various noodle and rice options, and different entrée selections that can be combined into meals. The ability to order sides, as highlighted by one reviewer, provides flexibility for customers with varying appetites or budgets. The consistency of the menu across different locations is also a key feature, allowing customers to have a general expectation of the food quality and taste.
Regarding promotional information specific to this Friars Road location, the provided reviews do not mention any current deals or special offers. However, Panda Express as a brand frequently engages in various promotions, which may include limited-time offers on certain dishes, family meal deals, online ordering discounts, or loyalty programs. Local users interested in potential promotions at this specific location might want to check the Panda Express website or inquire directly at the restaurant.
Considering the available feedback, Panda Express on Friars Road in San Diego offers a convenient and affordable option for those seeking familiar Chinese-American fast food. The food quality appears to be generally acceptable, though perhaps not exceptionally fresh according to one review. The outdoor seating provides a dine-in option but may not be ideal in all weather conditions. The availability of affordable side dishes allows for budget-conscious choices. For local users prioritizing speed, convenience, and a known menu, this Panda Express location is likely a viable option. However, those seeking a more refined or comfortable dine-in experience might want to consider other Chinese restaurants in the area.
In summary, Panda Express at 7007 Friars Rd in San Diego provides a standard fast-food Chinese experience. Customers can expect a relatively quick service and a familiar menu of dishes like orange chicken and lo mein. While the outdoor seating is available for dining in, it may not be the most comfortable option depending on the weather. The affordability, especially for side items, is a notable advantage for those seeking a budget-friendly meal. Local users looking for a reliable and convenient Chinese fast-food option in the Friars Road area will likely find Panda Express to be a suitable choice.

Sunday dinner:(~7.30 pm) - Walk-in, not busy. - Ordered my usually noodles, orange chicken. It’s okay, not that fresh, but okay. - Seating is outside like a common dine in for all the food places around, it’s pretty cold to even finish the food. Skip it if you want to dine in.
Was really hungry but didn’t want to spend $15 for a meal so I ordered a side of lo mein for like $5 here and it was enough to fill me up. Tasted decent too. Would go back and try other stuff!
Definitely the quality had lowered. I order a bowl rice and shrimp. Wait 10 minutes for the shrimp, and I got a sad plate with 7 shrimps and COLD rice. And the worst part was the service. The lady that took my order seemed annoyed because I ordered shrimps and they have to be made... then, the cashier looked like I was bothering her. HER voice was not nice. Finally, I asked for sweet and sour sauce, and she literally threw it in front of me. Didn't care to hide her face. Well, Panda Express Fashion Valley. NO RECOMMENDED
The egg rolls that they were making were fresh came out burned after waiting while food was under heat lamp then they forgot the tariaki sauce. For chicken sadly I will say I will not be returning to this sad excuse of a panda. #dobetter
They starting going chipotle on me, not value friendly at least at this location
