About Panda Express

Located at Expressway 83 in Penitas, Texas, Panda Express is a well-known Chinese restaurant chain offering a variety of American Chinese dishes. As a platform highlighting Chinese restaurants, we recognize Panda Express as a convenient option for local users seeking familiar and flavorful meals. Based on recent customer feedback, the Penitas location appears to be committed to providing fresh food and addressing customer needs.

One customer described their first visit to the Penitas location as "good," noting that the numerous plates they ordered were "fresh and delicious." This positive initial experience suggests a focus on food quality and preparation. While this customer mentioned that it was initially warm inside the building, they also highlighted the prompt response of the staff in turning on the air conditioning upon request, leading to a "Great experience." This indicates a willingness to address customer comfort and ensure a pleasant dining environment.

Another customer shared their experiences from two visits within a two-week period in March 2025. During their first visit, they found the Kung Pao Chicken to be "good and very spicy," as expected. Their wife enjoyed the String Bean Chicken. A minor issue was the insufficient amount of sweet and sour sauce provided for the rice, and they also encountered unsweetened sweet tea and flat Sprite. Despite these drink-related issues, they enjoyed their visit enough to return.

On their second visit, the same customer reported a more mixed experience. While their wife received extra sweet and sour sauce as requested, the customer who ordered the Firecracker Shrimp encountered confusion regarding the dish they received. Despite ordering based on the signage, they were served Walnut Shrimp without being informed of the substitution or the presence of nuts. This lack of communication and potential allergen awareness is a point of concern raised in the review. Additionally, they noted that the cashier did not verbally confirm the dish they were charged for. On a positive note, the sweet tea was sweetened on this visit.

Features of Panda Express generally include a steam table service where customers can view and select their dishes, which typically include a variety of stir-fried entrees, rice, and noodles. Popular items often include Orange Chicken, SweetFire Chicken Breast, Beijing Beef, and Chow Mein. The Penitas location appears to offer these standard menu items, with the review mentioning Kung Pao Chicken, String Bean Chicken, Firecracker Shrimp (which turned out to be Walnut Shrimp), and fried rice.

The reviews suggest that the food is generally fresh and well-prepared, although there can be occasional inconsistencies in service and communication, as highlighted in the second review regarding the drink quality and the incorrect dish. The positive feedback regarding the freshness of the food and the staff's willingness to address issues like the temperature of the dining area indicates a commitment to customer satisfaction.

Local users in Penitas, TX, can consider Panda Express for a quick and accessible Chinese meal. While the experiences shared in the reviews offer insights into the potential strengths and weaknesses of this particular location, it's important to note that individual experiences can vary. The restaurant's responsiveness to customer concerns, as seen with the AC adjustment, is a positive sign. However, the issue with the misidentified dish and lack of communication about potential allergens warrants attention for future visits.

For the most accurate information on the menu, hours of operation, and any ongoing promotions, local users are advised to contact the Panda Express in Penitas directly. The reviews suggest that while the food quality is generally good, paying close attention to order accuracy and clear communication with the staff is recommended to ensure a smooth and satisfactory dining experience.

First time here in Penitas. It was good. We ordered numerous plates. And all of them were fresh and delicious. It was warm inside, but once we told them it was hot in the building, they turned on the AC and it was a Great experience. We will definitely be coming back. Great Job Panda Express in Penitas Tx!

3-9-25 Wife and I have now eaten here twice in the last two weeks. First last weeks experience: I got a bowl with Kung Poa Chicken and fried rice. The chicken was good and very spicy, which I was warned about. No complaints at all. Wife had a bowl with String Bean Chicken and fried rice, also very good. She asked for sweet and sour sauce and was given two packets. She said it was good, just not enough of it to cover the rice. The only real complaint was on the drink. We filled up with "sweet tea" that had no sugar in it. Dumped it in favor of Sprite, which was pure soda water. Other than that we enjoyed our visit enough to return. Today we again both got bowls. Wife got the same thing but asked for extra sauce packets and received them. I ordered Firecracker Shrimp, based on the signage positioned above the food. When he started dipping from a different spot, that also had steak in it, I stopped him and said I wanted the shrimp and pointed to the dish beneath the sign. He never told me it was Walnut Shrimp, only said the other was the Firecracker. I said ok, and asked for shrimp only, no steak. He sat the bowl aside, got another bowl and began dipping rice again, then put Walnut Shrimp in the bowl. I never knew what I got until I sat down to eat and looked at the ticket. How did he know I wasnt allergic to nuts? Again, I was never told what he was giving me, the signage was in the wrong place above the dishes on the line, and the person that cashed us out did not say what he was charging us for. On the bright side, they did sweeten the tea today

My order was wrong. Called spoke to manager very rude bad attitude. I asked for fire chicken said she did not know what that was and they did not carry it. They asked for my plate to fix my order when there very rude and with a long face said they didn’t need my plate. Now food is cold and OH! They did have the chicken I order. They hung up on my call initially and had to call 3x. Worst service ever. Not going back.
