About Panda Express
Panda Express, located at 1888 Democracy Point in Colorado Springs, Colorado, is part of a well-known chain of Chinese restaurants offering a variety of familiar American Chinese dishes. With a contact phone number of (719) 602-8007 and a mobile number +1 719-602-8007, this location provides accessible options for both dine-in and takeout services to the local community. As a category leader in fast-casual Chinese cuisine, Panda Express is recognized for its quick service and popular menu items.
Based on the recent customer reviews, the experiences at this particular Panda Express location are somewhat mixed, highlighting both positive and negative aspects. One reviewer shared a particularly heartwarming experience, praising the kindness and generosity of staff members Gene and Kate. They mentioned receiving large portions of food and an abundance of fortune cookies. Gene's offer of cinnamon apple dessert rolls further enhanced their positive impression. This review emphasizes a welcoming and friendly atmosphere, suggesting that some staff members at this location excel in customer service and are generous with their offerings. The reviewer also noted the convenient location and expressed feeling "blessed" during their visits, indicating a positive overall sentiment towards the restaurant's accessibility and the interactions they had.
However, a more recent update from the same reviewer introduces significant concerns regarding food quality and hygiene. While still acknowledging that "the meats are good," they pointed out a recurring issue with overcooked and dry rice. This is a fundamental component of many Chinese dishes, and consistently poor rice quality can significantly impact the overall dining experience. Furthermore, this reviewer noted a change in policy regarding food samples, advising customers to "choose your food wisely" as they can no longer try new dishes before ordering, potentially leading to wasted money on undesirable items.
The most serious concern raised in the updated review pertains to hygiene. The reviewer reported finding hair in their bowl and expressed dissatisfaction with the restaurant's response, stating that they were "brushed off and hung up" when they called to inform them. This type of experience and lack of concern shown by the staff is a significant issue that can severely damage a customer's trust and loyalty, leading the reviewer to declare they would "never be going there again." This highlights a critical area where this Panda Express location needs to improve its food safety protocols and customer service when addressing complaints.
Corroborating the issue with the rice, another very brief review simply stated, "Yeah... rice was dry and only good thing was most of the meats." This reinforces the inconsistency in the quality of their rice, suggesting it might be a persistent problem. While the meats are acknowledged as being generally good, the dry rice detracts from the overall enjoyment of the meal for this customer as well.
In summary, the customer reviews for this Panda Express location at 1888 Democracy Point in Colorado Springs present a mixed picture. On one hand, there are instances of exceptional customer service and generosity from specific staff members, contributing to a positive experience. On the other hand, there are significant concerns regarding the quality of the rice, a lack of food samples to aid customer choices, and a serious allegation of poor hygiene and inadequate handling of customer complaints. The inconsistency in rice quality appears to be a recurring issue, and the reported incident of finding hair in food and the subsequent dismissive response are major red flags for potential customers.
For local users considering this Panda Express, it is essential to weigh these contrasting experiences. While some may encounter friendly service and enjoy the meat components of their meals, there is a risk of receiving dry rice and the potential for hygiene issues. The change in the sampling policy might also make trying new dishes a less appealing prospect. The negative experience regarding the handling of a hygiene complaint is particularly concerning and should give potential customers pause.
Given these factors, individuals looking for a reliable and consistently high-quality Chinese fast-food experience in this area might want to consider these recent reviews. While the positive interactions with some staff are commendable, the issues with food quality and hygiene are significant drawbacks. It would be prudent for the management of this Panda Express location to address the concerns raised in these reviews, particularly regarding the consistency of their rice preparation, the enforcement of hygiene standards, and the way customer complaints are handled, to ensure a more positive and safe dining experience for all patrons.
As there is no specific promotional information available in the provided reviews, local users would need to visit the location or contact them directly at (719) 602-8007 or +1 719-602-8007 to inquire about any current specials or promotions. The focus of the existing feedback is primarily on the food quality and service aspects of this particular Panda Express restaurant.

Gene and Kate were incredibly kind to my kids and I. I love their smiles and generous nature. They served us a large portion of food, and were generous with the fortune cookies. Gene even offered my kids some cinnamon apple dessert rolls. It is a great location and we are blessed every time we visit! Great food and people!!
Update: Soooo the last review is still current. They need to work on not overcooking the rice and making it so dry. But again the meats are good. And for those that wanna try something new, know that they nolonger allow samples. So choose your food wisely. Hopefully you donβt waste your money on something nasty to your tastes. Another thing I wanna add is they need to wear better head bands or nets. I called to tell them that they had hair in my bowl and they just brushed me off and hung up. And as a result, I will never be going there again. Yeah... rice was dry and only good thing was most of the meats.
I've come here 30+ times, mostly ordering online, and I've also done in-person, drive-thru, and catering. This is a low-cost fast food restaurant that employs high school and college students, so the people with the 1 star reviews need to relax. It's in an affluent area, so there's going to be quite a few of highly critical pompous gen-Xers and senile boomers leaving asinine reviews. Anyway, if you want fast and very good Americanized Asian food, then eat here. I can feed my entire family of 6 for about $40 when I get a couple bigger plates and a couple extra sides.
Got there early and the service was quick. Loved the food. It was clean.
OK, let's start this review off by saying this to all the folks who left a 1 Star π Review for this place: Please quit spreading negative vibes, disrespecting this business and others by leaving negative 1 Star Reviews, and try to see some Good in this Restaurant, and in other Business and People!! Moving on, this Restaurant is beyond words excellent!! The staff are so kind and amazing, the food is so delicious π and warm, the tables are all clean, it feels like stepping into your own little Paradise. This Magnificent Restaurant is such a supercalifragilisticexpialidocious Restaurant!! Also, this Restaurant is fairly priced, for 3 people, My father, sister, and I only spent $37.05 Dollars, not bad, right? Remember, no Restaurant is perfect (although I would argue that this Restaurant is almost perfect βΊ!!), and no one is perfect either. So, please give this Restaurant a chance, and have some Patience, along with Gratitude, because these folks that work at this Restaurant, they choose basically, to come to work, and people are dying of starvation in 3rd World Countries, such as Africa π. So, please give this Restaurant some of your time, love, and appreciation. It more than deserves it.
