About Panda Express
Panda Express, located at 1640 Camino Del Rio N #120, San Diego, CA 92108, USA, is part of a well-known chain in the Chinese Restaurant category, offering a variety of Chinese-American fast food dishes. They can be contacted at (619) 930-9113 or via their mobile number +1 619-930-9113. This location serves local users looking for a quick and convenient Chinese meal.
However, recent customer reviews for this specific Panda Express location on Camino Del Rio N raise significant concerns regarding food quality and potential health issues. One reviewer reported a problem with a beverage, stating that the fountain drink raspberry tea was out of stock. More alarmingly, the same reviewer described their orange chicken as tasting undercooked and still having pink in it. They also mentioned wanting to request it well-done and found the duck sauce to be excessively sugary.
Another, more detailed review recounted a concerning experience involving a family who dined at this location on January 8th. The reviewer, a tourist, mentioned that they, their wife, and their 15-month-old daughter had not eaten for approximately six hours prior to their meal, consuming only bottled water for the preceding two days. Their daughter had also eaten blackberries in the day leading up to the meal without any adverse effects.
Approximately two hours after their meal at Panda Express, the reviewer's daughter began vomiting and continued to do so nearly ten times until around 3:00 AM. The situation was severe enough that they considered taking her to the emergency room. Although she eventually fell asleep, she vomited again the following morning. Subsequently, the reviewer's wife also experienced vomiting and diarrhea, starting soon after their daughter fell asleep and continuing intermittently into the next morning. The reviewer themselves reported mild stomach discomfort that subsided during the night.
The reviewer explicitly stated their suspicion of "mild food poisoning," although they were uncertain of the exact cause. They noted that while it was not severe enough to incapacitate them, it caused significant distress to their daughter and wife. As tourists with limited time, they did not intend to pursue further action but wanted to share their experience as a warning to others who might be concerned about dining at this particular location.
Given these serious allegations of potential foodborne illness and the report of undercooked chicken, it is difficult to provide a positive introduction to this specific Panda Express location based solely on the available recent customer feedback. The reviews do not offer any insights into the environment or ambiance of the restaurant. There is no mention of the cleanliness, decor, or overall atmosphere of the dining area.
Similarly, information regarding the services beyond the basic function of serving food is absent from these reviews. We cannot ascertain details about the speed of service, the friendliness or efficiency of the staff (beyond the beverage being unavailable), or any specific amenities offered at this location.
In terms of features, the negative feedback regarding food quality overshadows any potential positive attributes this Panda Express might possess. The report of undercooked chicken is a significant safety concern and does not highlight any positive features of their food preparation. The comment about the sugary duck sauce is a matter of taste preference but also does not indicate a positive feature.
As there is no mention of any promotional information in the provided reviews, we cannot comment on any special offers or discounts that might be available at this Panda Express location. The serious nature of the reported food safety and health concerns would likely outweigh any potential promotional appeal.
In conclusion, the recent customer feedback for the Panda Express located at 1640 Camino Del Rio N in San Diego presents significant concerns regarding food safety and quality. The report of undercooked chicken and the strong suspicion of food poisoning affecting multiple members of a dining party should be taken seriously by potential local users. While Panda Express is a well-known chain, experiences can vary by location, and the available reviews for this specific address are overwhelmingly negative and alarming. Local users may want to exercise caution and consider these recent experiences before choosing to dine at this particular Panda Express location. It would be prudent to seek more recent and positive feedback or consider alternative dining options in the area to ensure a safe and enjoyable meal.

Out of Fountain drink raspberry tea. Orange chicken tastes under cooked still has pink in it. I wanted to request well don- also duck sauce is too sugary.
Dined here on January 8 with my wife and our 15-month-old daughter. We hadn’t eaten anything for about six hours beforehand, except for bottled water we’d been drinking for the past two days. My daughter ate some blackberries afterwards, which she had been eating for the past day without issue. About two hours after our meal, our daughter started vomiting and continued to do so nearly ten times until around 3:00 AM. We almost took her to the ER, but she finally fell asleep—only to vomit again the next morning. My wife began vomiting and diarrhea soon after my daughter fell asleep, and still does so occasionally next morning. I felt some mild stomach discomfort, which subsided halfway through the night. It seems like mild food poisoning, though we’re not sure what caused it. It wasn’t severe enough to incapacitate us, but it did cause my daughter and wife a lot of distress. We’re tourists and don’t have time to pursue further action; we just wanted to share our experience for anyone who may be concerned.
The Panda Express team has excellent customer service and great choices for food and it's an amazing place to eat
Another panda location nothing too bad about it except they never open on time 😕, came in today a few minutes after 10 both doors where still close despite the sing saying it is opened at 10, This would not be a big deal and I wouldn't even bother to write a review except this is the second time this has happened in last few months I don't come here every day but the two time I have the same thing has happened, this is not a Mom and Pop shop this is panda and it should be opened at the time it says
Marsha was extremely rude to my 10 year old daughter. She had to go to the restroom and marsha rudely said she no not until you buy food. Marsha was mean and had zero customer service skills. Management needs to do a better job at hiring. Marsha does not represent your co. Well
