About Panda Express

Panda Express, situated at 2206 Briarcrest Dr in Bryan, Texas, is a familiar name in the Chinese fast-food category, offering a wide selection of American Chinese dishes. While generally known for its quick service, recent customer reviews of this particular location provide a mixed perspective, highlighting both areas of concern and potential strengths for local users to consider.

One customer who visited after the supper time rush described an experience where, despite a relatively short initial wait, their three-plate dinner order was significantly delayed. The reason given for the delay was that the staff was waiting for more chow mein noodles to be cooked, which the customer specifically wanted. However, while waiting for the noodles, approximately 10 other customers inside and several more in the drive-thru placed and received their orders. The initial customer inquired why the ready food items were not being placed in their containers while the noodles were being prepared, and the response was that the staff did not want the food to get cold. While the customer found this somewhat understandable, once the noodles were ready, they were then informed that the beef broccoli, another item in their order, was out of stock – a fact that had not been communicated earlier.

This customer's experience resulted in a 15-20 minute wait, and they only received their food after proactively asking about the delay and requesting a substitute for the unavailable beef broccoli. The reviewer expressed frustration with the order fulfillment process, suggesting that a more efficient approach would be to fill the available items immediately and inform the customer about any delays or substitutions needed for other items. They felt overlooked and dismissed as other customers who arrived later were served before them, emphasizing the lack of communication about the delay as a key issue, more so than just the wait time itself. This review points to potential inefficiencies in order management and communication with customers, particularly when certain items need to be cooked or are unavailable.

In contrast, another recent customer shared a positive experience specifically regarding the family meal options at this Panda Express location. This reviewer mentioned using these meals to help with meal prepping for family members who have demanding work schedules. They specifically praised the wonderful portion sizes of the family meals, noting that they personally could get three meals out of each box. The photo included in their review showed a variety of dishes: Teriyaki Chicken, Broccoli Beef, Beijing Beef, Super Greens, and Fried Rice. This positive feedback suggests that the family meal offerings at this location provide good value in terms of quantity and variety, making them a convenient option for larger groups or individuals looking for multiple servings.

The same customer also shared their personal experience ordering a family meal with Teriyaki Chicken, Broccoli Beef, Beijing Beef, Super Greens, and Fried Rice. They reiterated the generous portion sizes, emphasizing the ability to get multiple meals from a single order. While acknowledging the high sodium content mentioned in the nutritional information, they also pointed out that this could be managed through increased water intake, potassium, and daily activity. Overall, this customer expressed happiness with their experience, particularly regarding the family meal options and portion sizes.

Based on these reviews, the Panda Express on Briarcrest Dr in Bryan, TX, appears to have a potential strength in its family meal offerings, providing generous portions that can be beneficial for families or individuals needing multiple meals. However, there are also concerns raised about the in-store order fulfillment process, particularly during busy periods or when certain items require preparation. Communication with customers about delays or unavailable items seems to be an area that could be improved.

The reviews do not provide specific details about the restaurant's environment or ambiance. One review mentions a few cars in the drive-thru and one person inside before them, suggesting a moderate level of business at the time of their visit. The staff were described as friendly and service-oriented, though visibly harried from a rush. This indicates that while the staff may have good intentions, the operational efficiency during busy times could impact the customer experience.

Information regarding additional services such as online ordering or specific promotions is not mentioned in these reviews. Local users interested in these aspects should check the official Panda Express website or contact the store directly at (979) 431-1666 or +1 979-431-1666.

In conclusion, the Panda Express located at 2206 Briarcrest Dr in Bryan, TX, offers family meal options with commendable portion sizes that have been positively received. However, there are potential issues with in-store order processing efficiency and communication regarding food availability and preparation times, which may lead to significant delays for some customers. While staff are noted to be friendly, the operational procedures during busy periods could impact the overall customer experience. Local users may find the family meals to be a good value for quantity, but those dining in or ordering individual meals should be prepared for potential delays, especially if specific items need to be cooked or are out of stock. It may be beneficial to inquire about the availability of all ordered items at the time of ordering to avoid unexpected delays or the need for substitutions.

I came in after a supper time rush with a few cars in the drive through and one gentleman inside before me. The staff were all friendly and service oriented, though I could tell they were harried from the rush. My only complaint is that the staff waited to fill my three-plate dinner order until more chow mein noodles were cooked (which I definitely wanted). Then, after about 10 more people and several more cars in the Drive-Thru came and went, they still had not completed my order. I asked why they were not the ready food items in my containers while the noodles were finishing. They said they didn't want the food to get cold. That's understandable to some degree but once the noodles were ready, they were then out of beef broccoli (which they did not explain to me .) About 15 customers total went through while I stood waiting for my order! I sure wish they had filled the beef broccoli BEFORE the noodles were done or else offered to substitute a different item. I was literally in the store 15-20 minutes by the time I got my food and that was only because I finally asked what the delay was for. I asked to have a substitute item and then, frustrated, got my meals. Not the way I would run a "fast food" restaurant. I would like to recommend for a future policy, that the items that are ordered be filled right away and if the customer wants to wait for something, they can be asked asap. I felt overlooked and dismissed while so many other customers got in line, ordered, and received their food before me. It wasn't so much about my 'feelings' as much as it was that i was never informed about why such a long delay.

Due to my flexibility, I help family members meal prep (they are on the road for 2 hours and have 12 hours shifts. They don't have the extra time to cook during a work week). Lately, I've been getting family meals at Panda Express and I can't complain so far. The portion sizes are wonderful! All I need to do is allow it to cool and then store it. In the picture it's Teriyaki Chicken, Broccoli Beef, Beijing Beef, Super Greens, and Fried Rice. I myself have issues standing for long periods of time, so my cooking days are limited. However, I ordered the family meal and got the Teriyaki Chicken, Broccoli Beef, Beijing Beef (not my favorite), Super Greens and Fries Rice. I can eat 3x out of each box! THAT'S A LOT OF FOOD!!! I understand that the nutrition facts say that the entrees have a lot of sodium, but that can easily be handled by upping your water intake, potassium, and daily activity. All-in-all, we're happy.

Service was decent, they were nice so this isn't on them. But the food was NOT original orange chicken. It wasn't even crunchy and had such miniscule sauce it was barely coated. Taste was so bad, I was checking the chicken as I wondered if it was fresh chicken or even fully cooked. Also the amount was not what I expect from Panda Express. Definitely worth to just go to the other location.

Their usually out of menu options, employees start closing a HOUR before time, so translation THEY WILL NOT COOK ANYMORE FOOD and you WILL BE SERVED OLD FOOD! Employees will be rude and will make you wait at the front for 20 minutes as PAYBACK if you make them work or discuss why the food is not up to standard. OVERALL, please do yourself a favor and BYPASS this restaurant unless you want to ARGUE, be embarrassed, or disappointed. I will definitely not br going back until things DRASTICALLY CHANGE! BAD RESULTS and BAD RESTAURANT! 👎
