About Panda Express
Welcome to Panda Express, a familiar name in the Chinese Restaurant category, situated conveniently at 130 23rd Ave Building 2 within the Port Hueneme Naval Base, CA 93043, USA. This location caters to those within the base area and visitors looking for a quick and accessible option for American-Chinese fast food. Panda Express is known for its speedy service and a menu featuring a variety of popular dishes, making it a convenient choice for lunch or a quick meal.
One customer who made a "quick stop for lunch while visiting Navy Exchange in Port Hueneme Base" shared their experience, noting that the "customer service was good." This suggests that the staff at this location are efficient and provide a positive interaction during the ordering and pickup process. The reviewer also commented on the portion sizes, mentioning a "large portion veggies- rice" accompanied by a "small portion of actual chicken and mushrooms." This observation provides insight into the composition of at least one of their menu items, indicating a potentially higher ratio of rice and vegetables to the main protein ingredients.
The same reviewer described the food as "your typical Asian fast food," acknowledging the general style and flavor profile that Panda Express is known for. They concluded that "it was decent," suggesting a satisfactory but perhaps not exceptional culinary experience. This aligns with the general perception of Panda Express as a reliable option for quick and convenient American-Chinese fare.
Another local user offered a more general perspective, stating, "If your in the area, give them a try." This suggests a willingness to recommend the location to those nearby, implying a generally acceptable experience. However, their personal preference was also noted, as they mentioned, "At home in SC I normally would not eat here. Just a preference for me." This indicates that while the Port Hueneme location might be worth a try for those in the vicinity, individual preferences for Chinese fast food can vary.
A third customer shared their specific order, which included a "plate with beijing beef and firecracker shrimp." While they were "not a fan of the shrimp," they found "the rest was good," referring to the Beijing Beef. This suggests that the quality and taste of individual dishes can vary according to personal preference. The reviewer also expressed a desire for a specific menu item, stating, "Really wish they had the sweet fire chicken," indicating that this location's menu might not include all the popular items available at other Panda Express locations.
In terms of the dining environment, this reviewer noted that "there is plenty of seating," suggesting that the location offers a comfortable space for those who wish to dine in. This is a practical consideration for customers who prefer to eat their meal at the restaurant rather than taking it to go. Additionally, they mentioned that "the portion size was good" for the items they ordered, which contrasts slightly with the previous reviewer's observation about the ratio of ingredients in their meal. This discrepancy might indicate variations in portioning across different menu items.
As a Chinese Restaurant operating within the fast-food model, Panda Express typically focuses on providing a limited menu of popular American-Chinese dishes that are prepared quickly and served efficiently. The environment is generally casual and geared towards quick turnover, with a focus on both dine-in and takeout options. Services usually include counter service where customers can select their dishes in a cafeteria-style setup, choosing a base (like rice or noodles), an entree, and sometimes sides or appetizers.
Given its location within the Naval Base, this particular Panda Express likely serves military personnel, base employees, and visitors to the facility. This specific context might influence the operating hours and accessibility for the general public, potentially requiring base access for non-affiliated individuals. It is advisable for those not affiliated with the Naval Base to inquire about access policies before planning a visit.
Promotional information for Panda Express is often consistent across various locations and can include limited-time offers, new menu items, or special deals on family meals or combinations. These promotions are typically advertised in-store, on the official Panda Express website, and through their mobile app. Customers at this Port Hueneme location can likely expect to find similar promotional offers as other Panda Express restaurants.
In summary, the Panda Express located at 130 23rd Ave Building 2 within the Port Hueneme Naval Base offers a convenient option for those seeking familiar American-Chinese fast food within the area. While some customers have noted good customer service and decent food, experiences with portion sizes and preferences for specific menu items can vary. The availability of ample seating suggests a comfortable dine-in option. For individuals with access to the Naval Base, this Panda Express provides a quick and accessible meal choice. Those not affiliated with the base should verify access requirements before attempting to visit. As with any fast-food chain, the experience can be subjective, and local users in the area might find it worth trying based on their own preferences for this type of cuisine.

Got a plate with beijing beef and firecracker shrimp. Not a fan of the shrimp but the rest was good. Really wish they had the sweet fire chicken. There is plenty of seating and the portion size was good.
Food is good. Runs out fairly quick. We gat to wait for a few minutes fir our order. It was being cooked. It was fresh off the grill.
Would’ve been 5 stars, but both mine and my wife’s fortune cookies had no fortune, and the cookies sucked
This Panda is by far and very consistently better than any other Panda locations I've ever tried. I have no clue how they do it, but every time I come here to try my favorite orange chicken or something new ... the flavor is amazing. I highly recommend it.
