About Panda Express
Located at 9867 Magnolia Ave STE A in Riverside, California, this Panda Express falls under the Chinese Restaurant platform category, which encompasses a wide array of establishments offering Chinese cuisine. Panda Express, as a well-known fast-casual chain, typically provides a convenient and quick service model, allowing customers to select from a variety of pre-prepared American-Chinese dishes. These restaurants are often favored for their accessibility and consistent menu across different locations.
Chinese fast-casual restaurants generally focus on efficient service, offering a selection of popular dishes like orange chicken, chow mein, and various rice options. Customers usually choose their base (rice or noodles), entrees, and sometimes appetizers or sides, often at a set price for a combination meal. The emphasis is on providing a satisfying and flavorful meal in a timely manner, suitable for individuals and families on the go.
However, the recent customer reviews for this particular Panda Express location on Magnolia Ave paint a concerning picture regarding food quality, portion sizes, and customer service. One reviewer reported a mixed experience, noting that the "honey walnut shrimp tasted old" and the "orange chicken was cold." On a more positive note, they found the "cream cheese wontons were freshly made and great." However, their order was also incomplete, as they requested sweet and sour sauce but only received hot mustard sauce.
Another customer expressed significant disappointment with their recent visit, specifically citing a change in portion sizes. They claimed that they received only "3 and a half Pieces of chicken" and were told by two different employees that this was the new standard portion size implemented four days prior to their visit. This customer voiced strong dissatisfaction with this perceived reduction in portion size, especially in relation to the price paid. They indicated their intention to contact the head office to verify this change in policy and to address what they suspected might be a misrepresentation due to "lazy work ethic."
This same reviewer further stated that they had "100% lost my business" and expressed disbelief at paying over $20 for noodles/rice and a minimal amount of chicken. They voiced concern that if this reduction in portion size was indeed a new standard, Panda Express could face significant challenges from competitors offering better value in terms of both portion and food quality, as well as superior customer service.
In an update to their review, this customer mentioned calling the location manager and reported a dismissive attitude, citing excuses and a lack of care for customer service indicative of inexperience. As a result, the reviewer stated their intention to escalate the issue to the Panda Restaurant Group for investigation into potential customer rip-offs and skimping on portions.
Considering these reviews, the environment at this Panda Express location is likely a standard fast-casual setting, typically found in strip malls or standalone buildings. It would generally feature a serving counter with displayed food items, a dining area with tables and chairs for customers who choose to eat on-site, and a relatively fast-paced atmosphere. However, the negative reviews do not provide specific details about the cleanliness or ambiance of the restaurant itself, focusing more on the food and service aspects.
In terms of services, Panda Express generally offers order-at-the-counter service for both dine-in and takeout. Customers select their meals from the available dishes, and the staff assembles their orders. The negative reviews highlight potential issues with the accuracy of orders (missing sauce) and the attitude and helpfulness of the employees, particularly regarding portion size concerns and the manager's response. This suggests a potential inconsistency in service quality at this specific location.
The features of Panda Express as a chain include a consistent menu of popular American-Chinese dishes, combo meal options, and a focus on quick service. However, based on the recent negative reviews for this Riverside location, potential customers should be aware of reported issues with food quality (old honey walnut shrimp, cold orange chicken), reduced portion sizes for certain items (chicken entrees), and unsatisfactory customer service, including a lack of concern from the location manager regarding customer complaints. The positive mention of freshly made cream cheese wontons is an isolated point of praise amidst more significant criticisms.
Currently, the provided reviews do not mention any specific promotional information for this Panda Express location. Panda Express as a brand often has national or regional promotions, which can be found on their official website or through their mobile app. Local promotions might also be advertised in-store. Given the recent negative feedback, it would be prudent for potential customers to inquire about current portion sizes and food freshness before placing an order.
In conclusion, the Panda Express located at 9867 Magnolia Ave STE A in Riverside, CA, has recently received concerning feedback regarding food quality, portion sizes, and customer service. While Panda Express is generally known for its consistent fast-casual Chinese cuisine, these reviews suggest potential issues at this specific location. Customers have reported receiving old and cold food, significantly reduced portion sizes for key entrees, and unhelpful or dismissive responses from employees and management regarding these concerns. While one appetizer was praised for being freshly made, the overall sentiment in these recent reviews is negative, raising questions about the current standards of food and service at this particular Panda Express. Local users considering this restaurant should weigh these recent experiences and potentially consider other dining options in the area or inquire directly with the restaurant about their current practices and food quality before making a purchase.

Customer Reviews
Honey walnut shrimp tasted old. Orange chicken was cold. Cream cheese wontons were freshly made and great. Asked for sweet and sour sauce, got home to find only hot mustard sauce in bag.
Just left this spot and what a total disappointment, apparently they changed there portion size to 3 and a half Pieces of chicken and when I said something to two different employees they argued its there new portion size as of 4 days ago. I will be contacting there head office and will be confirming this or if they just lied due to lazy work ethic. 100% lost my business no way am I paying $20+ for some noodles/rice and less then a few bites of chicken. Really hope this isn't the new portion size or expect panda to be out of business in the next few years as competitive companies crush there portion and quality of food and definitely better customer service elsewhere. Update: called there location manager and showed he did not care made excuses and can tell his lack of experience of being a manager and care of customer service. I'll be taking the steps to follow up on this with Panda Restaurant Group and make sure this location is investigated for ripping off customers and skimping portions.
I have to ask for restroom code food quality is poor no taste service is good but food is just bunch carbs and very poor taste should be call chinese food chinase people laugh when they see american people eating kung pao no even close to real kung pao i regret come to this place
Good food, nice staff. But they should know when foods sit there for too long. They just put fresh veggies out but put the old dried up bits on top instead of throwing them away the guy put it in my plate. Sadly it was my lunch time and I'm pregnant so I ate around it.
I use to like this place a lot they are located in the Lowe's parking lot and there customer service failed me right away we were waiting in line and the person helping just walked away and left us standing for over 5 minutes without even acknowledging that we were there and when they did get around to us in a lagging fashion none of the food was ready fresh or hot we had to wait another 15 minutes for that and the lady who was working named Daisy was very rude and had an attitude towards me and several other customer's not sure if them being closed 30 minute after had any thing to do with lack of food but as a business you should be prepared when I got home and opened up the plate of food it was horrible small portions that were thrown all in together this place use to be good years ago but now it was just a waste of money I don't wish this type of service on any paying Customer and will till all my Friends and family about my experience I had here !!!
