About Panda Express
Welcome to Panda Express, located within the Royal Hawaiian Center at 2233 Kalākaua Ave B4, Honolulu, HI 96815, USA. Situated in the heart of Waikiki, this branch of the popular Panda Express chain provides a convenient and familiar option for those seeking quick and satisfying Chinese-American cuisine. You can reach them at (808) 924-8886 or via mobile at +1 808-924-8886.
As a well-established entity in the "Chinese Restaurant" platform category, Panda Express operates on a fast-casual dining model. This approach emphasizes efficiency and speed, allowing customers to select their dishes from a serving line and enjoy their meals either on-site or as takeout. The location within the Royal Hawaiian Center, a prominent shopping and dining destination in Waikiki, underscores its accessibility for both tourists and locals looking for a quick and reliable meal.
Environment: The Panda Express at the Royal Hawaiian Center is described as having a "casual and relaxed" atmosphere, typical of a fast-casual spot. It's located within a food court setting, which generally implies a bustling environment with various food vendors and shared seating areas. While not a leisurely sit-down restaurant, it offers a clean and bright space with a modern, fast-food vibe suitable for grabbing a meal before or after exploring the surrounding areas. The focus is on functionality and quick service rather than elaborate decor.
Services: Panda Express primarily offers a fast-casual dining experience with both dine-in and takeout options. Customers can expect to move through a serving line, selecting their choice of entrees, sides (such as rice and noodles), and possibly appetizers and beverages. The service is noted as "efficient" with a "friendly staff behind the counter." Given its location in a busy area, the staff is likely accustomed to handling a high volume of customers quickly. While not explicitly mentioned, it is highly probable that this location also supports takeout orders for those wishing to eat elsewhere. As with many food court establishments, delivery services might be available through third-party apps, though this is not detailed in the provided reviews.
Features: A key feature of Panda Express is its consistent menu of popular Chinese-American dishes. According to a detailed review, the Teriyaki Chicken with Rice and Teriyaki Chicken with Noodles are solid options. The Teriyaki Chicken is described as tender and well-cooked with a nice grilled char and a classic sweet, sticky, and slightly tangy teriyaki sauce. The white steamed rice is noted as soft and fluffy, providing a good base for the dish. The noodles, likely chow mein, have a slightly stir-fried flavor and a good texture, though they were mentioned as being a bit oily in the Teriyaki Chicken with Noodles. Another customer praised the "mushroom chicken" and found the vegetables to be "well cooked still firm and not soft," indicating that some dishes prioritize the texture of vegetables. However, this reviewer also noted that the "beef and broccoli had way more broccoli than beef," suggesting potential inconsistencies in the proportions of ingredients in some dishes.
Portion sizes at Panda Express are generally considered decent for the price, offering a filling meal with a good balance of protein and carbohydrates. The reviewer estimated around $10 for each entree with rice or noodles, which they deemed reasonable for the heart of Waikiki, especially for a quick and filling meal with generous servings. This suggests that Panda Express offers a good value proposition for those seeking an affordable meal in a tourist-heavy area.
Promotional Information: The provided customer reviews do not mention any specific promotional offers for this Panda Express location at the Royal Hawaiian Center. However, Panda Express as a national chain frequently runs promotions, which might include special deals on certain combinations, limited-time offers on new menu items, or discounts available through their mobile app or website. Local users and visitors are advised to check the official Panda Express website or app for any current promotions that might be applicable at this Honolulu location. Additionally, being located within a major shopping center, there might occasionally be joint promotions with the Royal Hawaiian Center, although this is speculative without further information.
Overall Experience: The customer reviews suggest that Panda Express at the Royal Hawaiian Center provides a reliable and convenient option for a quick and satisfying meal. The Teriyaki Chicken with Rice is highlighted as a simple but flavorful choice, while the Teriyaki Chicken with Noodles offers a variation with stir-fried noodles. The service is described as efficient and friendly, fitting the fast-casual dining model. The atmosphere is casual and relaxed, suitable for a quick stop while exploring the area. The food is generally considered tasty and filling, with decent portion sizes for the price, making it a reasonable value in Waikiki. The positive comment about well-cooked vegetables in another dish also indicates attention to the preparation of ingredients.
In conclusion, Panda Express at the Royal Hawaiian Center in Honolulu offers a consistent and convenient fast-casual Chinese-American dining experience. Located in a bustling food court, it provides a quick and accessible meal option for tourists and locals alike. Customers can expect efficient service, a familiar menu with dishes like Teriyaki Chicken and a variety of sides, and generally satisfying portion sizes at a reasonable price for the location. While not a gourmet experience, it serves as a reliable choice for a fast, tasty, and filling meal while enjoying the attractions of Waikiki and the Royal Hawaiian Center. It is recommended to check for any ongoing promotions directly with the restaurant or through official Panda Express channels.

Customer Reviews
If you’re in Honolulu and looking for a quick, satisfying meal, Panda Express at the Royal Hawaiian Center is a solid option. Known for its fast-casual Chinese-American cuisine, Panda Express delivers a consistent experience no matter where you are, and the location at the Royal Hawaiian Center is no exception. I recently visited and tried the Teriyaki Chicken with Rice and Teriyaki Chicken with Noodles. Video Review will be posted on Tik Tok and Instagram soon @Foxyappetite Detailed breakdown of my experience: Teriyaki Chicken with Rice The Teriyaki Chicken with Rice was exactly what I expected—a comforting and flavorful meal that’s quick and satisfying. The chicken was tender and well-cooked, with a nice char from the grill, which added a subtle smoky flavor. The teriyaki sauce was sweet, sticky, and slightly tangy—classic Panda Express style—but not overly heavy. The rice, served as white steamed rice, was soft and fluffy, acting as the perfect base for the dish. While the flavors were predictable, they were well-executed, making for a satisfying plate. Teriyaki Chicken with Noodles For those looking to switch things up a bit, I also tried the Teriyaki Chicken with Noodles. The noodles had a slightly stir-fried flavor and were cooked to just the right texture—not too soggy, but with enough bite. The teriyaki sauce soaked into the noodles nicely, giving them a rich flavor without being too greasy. The chicken in this bowl was the same as the other dish—tender and flavorful—and it paired well with the noodles. While the dish was tasty, the noodles were a bit on the oily side, which made it feel a touch heavier compared to the rice option. Portion Size and Value For the price, Panda Express offers decent portion sizes. The dishes are filling, and the combination of protein and carbs makes for a satisfying meal. At around $10 for each entree (with rice or noodles), it’s a reasonable option in the heart of Waikīkī, especially for a quick, filling meal. The servings were generous, and you certainly get your money’s worth in terms of quantity. Service and Atmosphere The service at Panda Express was efficient, with a friendly staff behind the counter. It’s a fast-casual spot, so don’t expect a leisurely sit-down experience, but the atmosphere is casual and relaxed, ideal for grabbing a meal before or after exploring the Royal Hawaiian Center or nearby areas. The line moved quickly, and the food was ready in a short amount of time. The restaurant itself is clean and bright, with a modern, fast-food vibe. Overall Experience Panda Express at the Royal Hawaiian Center offers a reliable and quick meal option if you’re looking for comfort food while on the go. The Teriyaki Chicken with Rice was simple but flavorful, and the Teriyaki Chicken with Noodles added a nice variation with the stir-fried noodles. Both dishes were satisfying, and while they aren’t particularly unique or innovative, they deliver on taste and portion size. If you’re in the area and craving something quick and easy, this is a solid choice, especially considering the convenience and location. In short, it’s not a gourmet experience, but if you’re after a fast, tasty, and filling meal, Panda Express at the Royal Hawaiian Center is a reliable spot to hit.
It's a nice location for a food court and I was pleased with the service. I found the vegetables well cooked still firm and not soft. I liked the mushroom chicken but found the beef and broccoli had way more broccoli than beef. Overall, I will be back.
The BEST Panda Express I've ever tasted! The food was was very fresh. The teriyaki chicken thighs and walnut shrimp ..were to Die for! Fast service and a great environment while visiting Honolulu I had my best food experience there! THANKS!
So a plate costs $12.90 (2 entrees and a side). Why does the black pepper steak cost an additional $1.75, just to be full of mushrooms? It’s hard to notice at first, because everything is sitting in the black sauce. At the end if the day, the dish was underwhelming. And the customer service subpar. You almost have to beg for a sauce (sweet and sour) even after buying an egg roll. Just include it, or ask. Don’t make me have to investigate the tray before walking away. This is the location at the food court.
Delicious hot food. In walking distance from hotel so great location. Got the bigger plates for leftovers to save money on meals
