About Panda Express

Panda Express, situated at 5150 Cherry Ave #20 in San Jose, California, falls under the Chinese Restaurant category, specifically operating within the fast-casual dining segment. It provides a readily accessible option for individuals and families seeking familiar American-Chinese cuisine. As a well-known chain, Panda Express aims to offer a quick and convenient way to enjoy a variety of dishes that have become popular in this culinary fusion.

Based on the limited customer feedback available, the environment of this particular Panda Express location appears to be one that experiences typical fast-food traffic, especially during peak times like the weekend. One reviewer noted that the restaurant was "busy during the weekend," which is common for eateries offering quick service. While specific details about the ambiance and décor are not provided, it can generally be expected that Panda Express locations are designed for efficiency and high turnover, offering a casual and functional space for dining in or picking up orders.

In terms of services, Panda Express primarily focuses on counter service for both dine-in and take-out orders. The feedback mentions polite staff who informed a customer about a short wait time for their order, indicating a degree of communication regarding order preparation. Additionally, when a popular item like orange chicken was not immediately available, the staff offered water to the waiting customer, suggesting an effort to accommodate guests even during busy periods. The option for order pickup is also available, catering to customers who prefer to enjoy their meals at home or elsewhere.

A key feature of Panda Express is its standardized menu, which includes popular American-Chinese dishes such as orange chicken, broccoli beef, and kung pao chicken. The brand is widely recognized for these signature items, which offer a consistent flavor profile across its various locations. However, the provided customer reviews present a mixed picture regarding the quality of the food at this specific San Jose location. While one customer initially experienced warm food upon arriving home for a pickup order, a significant issue was later discovered: mold on a piece of orange chicken. This is a serious concern that understandably led to the customer's decision not to return to any Panda Express location in the future.

On a more positive note, another customer who visited during a busy weekend mentioned that the orange chicken was being freshly prepared and was not ready at the time of ordering. This suggests that the restaurant does prepare some of its dishes in batches to maintain freshness during high demand. The willingness of the staff to offer water while the customer waited for the orange chicken indicates a level of customer service. However, the stark contrast between this experience and the discovery of mold highlights potential inconsistencies in food quality control.

Currently, there is no specific promotional information available for this particular Panda Express location based on the provided text. Panda Express as a chain frequently offers various promotions and deals, which may be advertised in-store, online, or through their mobile app. Local promotions can sometimes vary, so it would be advisable to check directly with the store or the official Panda Express website or app for any ongoing offers.

In conclusion, Panda Express at 5150 Cherry Ave #20 in San Jose offers a convenient option for those seeking familiar American-Chinese fast food. The staff appears to be generally polite and accommodating, as indicated by their communication about wait times and offering water to a waiting customer. However, a significant concern regarding food quality was raised by one customer who found mold on their orange chicken, leading to a negative overall experience. While another customer experienced freshly prepared food during a busy period, the issue of food safety is paramount. Potential customers should be aware of these contrasting experiences when considering this location. For the most up-to-date information on the menu, hours, and any ongoing promotions, it is recommended to contact the restaurant directly at (408) 723-8829 or +1 408-723-8829.

Unfortunately I came by due to the kids wanting Panda so I place the order for pick up. Upon Arrival they were polite and told me to wait for 8 mins but I didn’t mind it because my whole plate was warm once I arrived home. Problem is once I get home and start eating I look at one over the pieces of orange chicken my dad was eating and it had MOLD! Unfortunately I will not be returning to any location because of this experience

It was busy during the weekend. Orange chicken was not ready when we had ordered, so they offered us water while we waited. Staff are friendly

This is the 3rd time I've come in and it's not even 9p and the staff have stopped making food and will make as you order. The hours say kitchen closes at 9:30p, that's when food should stop being made. When you make a plate and the food is getting cold because of waiting for other food to be made hot, it kind of defeats purpose right? Not only that but what's the deal with leaving one or two pieces of an entree in the dish? Seems really petty and if it's the last of it, just throw it in. When did Panda start counting how many pieces of something? Probably won't return to this location because it's literally happened 3 times and nothing has changed.

Amazing food. This location has the best Orange Chicken due to it being the soft and the Cottle one their orange chicken is hard as a rock (knock on wood for experience) but yeah this is amazing. God Bless The USA.

Got the food delivered. They were bad-looking and didn’t taste good. Orange chicken was just sweet and chicken pieces were stale and not meat really! One order was missing. The only good part was the portion size
