About Panda Express

Welcome to Panda Express, a Chinese restaurant located at 5108 Broadway K108, Oakland, CA 94611, USA. As a well-known establishment within the Chinese Restaurant category, Panda Express offers a fast-food approach to American Chinese cuisine, providing a convenient option for individuals and families seeking familiar flavors and quick service in the Oakland area.

For inquiries or to place an order, you can contact this Oakland location of Panda Express at (510) 420-8918 or via their mobile number, +1 510-420-8918. These contact details can be used to confirm their operating hours, inquire about their menu offerings, and ascertain whether they provide services such as online ordering or delivery, which are common features of this chain.

Based on the available customer reviews, experiences at this Panda Express location appear to be somewhat varied. One reviewer expressed a strong preference for what they described as "the freshest cheapest veggies and best Chinese food perhaps in the country" available across the street. This suggests that the location is near other Chinese dining options that may be perceived as more authentic and of higher quality. The reviewer questioned the choice of eating at Panda Express under such circumstances, implying that it might be a less desirable option for those seeking genuine Chinese flavors and value. They also mentioned a personal experience of stomach upset after eating at Panda Express, contrasting it with the positive effects of dim sum from Oakland Chinatown.

However, the same reviewer acknowledged that Panda Express might be a suitable choice for accommodating "suburban relatives" who prefer familiar tastes. This indicates that Panda Express's appeal might lie in its consistent and widely recognized menu of American Chinese dishes that cater to a broad audience, even if it is not considered the most authentic or highest-quality option by some.

Another reviewer offered a more pragmatic perspective, stating that while some "Karen’s" (presumably overly critical customers) might complain, it is important to remember that Panda Express is a "fast food chain." They advised lowering expectations accordingly. This suggests that the dining experience should be viewed within the context of a fast-food establishment, where speed and convenience often take precedence over gourmet quality.

This second reviewer also pointed out the convenience of Panda Express for those looking for a quick meal, noting that you can "get in and out quick here," especially when compared to other food spots in the vicinity. They mentioned that the availability of specific entrees can be "hit or miss," implying potential inconsistencies in the menu offerings at any given time. However, they also noted that there are "plenty of options" available, suggesting a reasonably diverse menu for a fast-food restaurant.

Interestingly, this reviewer specifically commented on the quality of the chow mein, stating that it has "lost its touch" and "kinda doesn’t have any flavor whatsoever." This provides specific feedback on one of Panda Express's popular side dishes, indicating a potential decline in its quality at this location, at least according to this customer's experience.

Given that Panda Express is a national fast-food chain, the environment at this Oakland location is likely consistent with other branches. Customers can typically expect a brightly lit, clean, and functional space designed for quick service and casual dining. Seating is usually available for those who wish to eat on-site, but the primary focus is often on takeout orders. The atmosphere is generally informal and family-friendly.

In terms of services, Panda Express primarily operates as a quick-service restaurant. Customers typically order at a counter and receive their food promptly. Takeout service is a major component of their business, and many locations also offer online ordering and delivery through their own platforms or third-party services. Given its chain nature, customers can likely expect a standardized service model. The mention of getting in and out quickly by one reviewer underscores the efficiency of their service.

Features of Panda Express as a Chinese restaurant chain include its consistent menu of popular American Chinese dishes like Orange Chicken, Kung Pao Chicken, and Broccoli Beef. It is known for its speed, convenience, and affordability, making it a go-to option for many when looking for a quick meal. The availability of family-sized meals and combo options are also common features. While one reviewer suggested that the quality might not compare to more authentic Chinese restaurants nearby, the familiarity and accessibility of Panda Express remain key features.

As a large chain, Panda Express often has national and regional promotions. Local users in Oakland might want to check their website or inquire at the store about any current deals, limited-time offers, or loyalty programs that could enhance their value. These promotions can sometimes include discounts on specific entrees, family bundles, or seasonal specials.

In conclusion, Panda Express at 5108 Broadway K108 in Oakland offers a familiar and convenient fast-food option for American Chinese cuisine. While some local reviewers suggest that more authentic and potentially higher-quality Chinese food is available nearby, Panda Express provides a quick and accessible choice, particularly for those seeking familiar flavors or a fast meal. The quality of specific dishes, like the chow mein, may vary. As a chain, it likely offers takeout and potentially online ordering and delivery services. Local users are encouraged to check for any ongoing promotions to maximize value. For those prioritizing speed and familiarity in their Chinese food experience, Panda Express remains a readily available option in the Oakland area.

I get it some people want the familiar but the choice of eating here is so weird when you’re across the street from the freshest cheapest veggies and best Chinese food perhaps in the country. Why pay more to destroy your taste buds with Panda Express when you can have genuine cheaper real Chinese food a 5 minute walk away? But for suburban relatives that visit just do it to make them happy. 😊 I got stomach upset last time I had Panda Express and Oakland Chinatown dim sum is a good antidote

You’ll find a few Karen’s complaining but it’s a fast food chain for Pete’s sake. Lower those expectations my guys. There’s a few other food spots around but you can get in and out quick here. It’s hit or miss with specific entrees you want sometimes but there’s plenty of options. I like when people complain and make a scene for the entree instead of the other 20 things you can get. I will say the chow Mein has lost its touch. Kinda doesn’t have any flavor whatsoever.

This is the 2nd time eating here, only bc it was convenient. This is the 2nd time in a row that they never refill most of the entrees so they’re dried up like they’ve been sitting out all day. Rice is dry and bleh. Oh well, haha.

They were out of all three sides and at least 50% of the entees. As a result I didn't get to eat any of the food, but I am willing to bet that it was made with the same indifference. When I asked how much longer for fried rice, the answer I received was "it's going to be a while." Rather shameful service.
